Gold Display In-Game

Having a gold display could be a bit of a buffer to game play moral and progress report on how a player and team might be doing. Though a player might be behind in a lane for instance, being able to see a gold lead might help out on an overall sense to show that the team as a whole is not to far behind or ahead. It is as well as a marker to show that a player only needs so much to catch up or surpass either the lane or team. For someone that gets a fair amount of kills, this can show that they aren't to far behind their lane opposite who has more minions and vice versa(when an opposite player has a two more kills than another player but the other has 34 more minions). The only draw back being of course is that the behind factor of an overall view. That win on a behind factor would feel like one heck of a underdog moment though.
