QOL for Akali; Would it be too much really?

Hey Akali main here(hate me), and I've found it find of counter intuitive that she gets adaptive AD by default unlike a lot of other AP characters. I start with boots in most match ups so do not actually gain any AP until my first return to base. Its manageable but certainly feels weird compared to other ap characters, even if she is semi hybrid due to a Gunblade core and occasional other items she is like 75-80% AP when played as Mid.

I am not sure if some people just prefer the AD, or its for the old tanky ad top lane Akali I heard about but have yet to see played(so I assume it fell off). If it is though, could simply code it to give AD when drafted for top in ranked/draft and ap for mid no? If not I think default AP still makes the most sense.

It also creates a situation where less experienced players will end up buying tome just to get ap and losing their lane, or dark seal which is better but still in-optimal because the item provides mana. Dorans ring has the same inefficiency problems. I know Akali is a touchy area for any changes due to her toxicity at lower levels but I feel like this is a pretty weird exception to have for the default adaptive damage.

Another option would to be finally giving manaless AP characters a doran-esque aggressive starting item. Something like dark seal but more expensive and replace the mana with a different effect. Bonus health or something. Idk. I am sure you guys will figure something out if its not going to push her over the edge because it really is super weird!
