Since Camille is a fighter, can we get a support next?

Recently Riot has put 10 extra champions onto the free champion rotation in an effort to make the support role more popular, well, we've had 7 champions released (8 if you're counting Camille) and not one of them has been a support

I think the game is due for a new support champ, especially if Riot wants to popularize the support role

Besides, Kench being the last support released he's kinda weak right now to say the least, so seeing a new unique support would be nice

Thoughts?

Agreed, while Camille is cool and all, I was really hoping for a support next. Hope they don't just skip over the release of a new support due to Ivern, since hes a primary Jungler who just can function as a Support.

Jungler is a position though, Support is a Role and he is classed as a Support in the client.

Support is a role, but it is also a position. You can play a fighter or tank as a Support. You can play a mage as a support. You can play an ADC as a support. Support is as much a role as Jungler.

UnholyReign12 is correct, most positions have a stereotypical role that just become classified the same way as that position.

Ivern doesn't work in the jungle at all. Any bit of counter jungling and he is super screwed. Ivern was a support who can GO in the jungle WHILE supporting. People who go full jungle Ivern almost always fail or just get carried by their team and act as a second support anyways.

But if you check the build, it's pretty much a support build. He has good clear times, and pretty decent map travel, so he can gank pretty early on.

no no no, champion.gg shows their winrates for certain roles in ranked, so it already knows if you're jg or support, from there it determines the win rate percentage, that's why he has 2 separate win rates, one for support and one for jungle

also a bloodrazer and mejiahs don't seem like support items to me, he takes aegis because ivern relies on being extremely tanky, guardian angel of more tank stats, and the only somewhat support item is athenas holy grail

Kench is still really good now. But I agree on the statement that the next champion should be a support. Perhaps something based around potions or ice in my opinion would be a great fit.

Kench is an amazing champion. Gameplay-wise, as a support, I can see that he may be R/R, but his in game quotes are truly wonderful. It is always a joy to play Kench.

he can be very inconsistent based on the player but yeah hes a decent support, weaker than others and not as fun imo but he'll always be my first support <3

That's completely your own opinion. He's still a support. If all we went on was opinions then our last toplane champ was Gnar.

no one wants him as a support, his passive is specifically for jungling, he CAN support but he's awful at it, it's like Miss Fortune support, it can work but no one wants to see it

Adcs don't want ivern support and real supports won't play ivern

Well most real junglers won't play Ivern because there are so many better picks where the enemies can't just walk into your jungle and kill the camp with no chance of you securing them at all.

well supports won't play him either because he sits at a 45% winrate for support and his pick rate isn't the highest but it isn't the lowest either (for jungle), he's up there with jarvan, udyr, and even sejuani, they're all within the 2-3% pick rate

a new support won't suddenly make the support role popular and unless they're a champ that isn't just another CC bot then I won't give a fuck about them

especially given how most of the supports are aids Soraka Sona Lulu Janna Braum Alistar and one champ who should be balanced for top/jungle instead TahmKench

only good support they've given us is Bard who's pretty 10/10 but I doubt riot will pull it off again

no but it will at least give current support players a reason to stick around, lulu braum and ali i can deal with but sona is stupid and i hate that janna is so easy yet she's god tier

kench was made to be a support who was viable top but that didn't work out well

and i think Thresh is pretty good too, i love bard but thresh is up there

Riot must have thought support fit tahms kit because of the eating an ally and carrying them but in the lore when he did that he came back at the end and wrecked a noble party you know those things in castles with the shyt ton of guards

I just think he was more interesting as a top lane juggernaut that transitioned into a more support-style role once he grouped

as a support he's pretty much just a worse braum in lane

Since Camille is a top fighter I assume they are going to rework Galio to be Support Tank anyway. and since Warwick will be the jungle assassin. The next champion would be a Mid Mage.

You could say the same about a champion, what's left another melee? We get Kled with his cool health bar and unique ult, new mage? They can do damage thanks to their 3 star passive, riot is very creative and I just really want to see that creativity in a new champion

Even though he is a support by class (and I have played him quite regularly as support), he is better suited for the jungle. There is a lot of wasted potential in having him play just as support.

He is utility based jungler, similarly of how Blitz or Bard are utility based support, yeah you can build them tank but they will work as meat shields more than anything unlike real tank that will disrupt the battlefield heavily.

He has no defensive steroids to work as a tank...even damage based tanks like Sejuani and Shyvana have some form of defensive steroids to help them out.

also kindred was a jungler, you wanna tell me we should make one of every jungler just because you want one?

2 junglers 3 top laners 2 adcs and 2 mid lane mages

have all been released since our last support tahm kench

so make it 10 champions since the last support

but let's prioritize a tanky jg (disregard ivern) because RogueWill really wants one

Which account for 1 Juggernaut, 2 marksman, 2 mages, 1 figther and Ivern that like I said is not a tank even his game description say he is a controller/mage tanks subdivisions are vanguards and wardens and the old system used to say just plain tank, so you can say he is tanky all you want he is still not a proper tank.

the game descriptions aren't reliable, annie is t harder to play than taliyah and it lists blitzcrank as a tank but he pops like a balloon

also your beloved "real tank" jungler rek'sai has lower tank stats than Ivern

Sigh.... Champions have lower base stats of what they build and higher of what they skip to balance the game out. Hence the joke that Zed have more MR and Armor than Shen and that's why tanks rely on some sort of defense steroid to work out as tanks. I mentioned that rek sai was the last one we got, if you don't consider her a tank then the next one on line is Zac way back in march 2013 so tell me again how a tank jungler is only because I really want.

Next champion should be a tank because like you said last one was Tahm Kench....do we really want another tank support when out of the 3 last support 2 has been tank? The other option would be an utility/controller support but Ivern is utility/controller already so you woudl have 2 similar champions back to back.

Camille is being release so it wouldn't be back to back you do realize that right? and that's what supports are, utility, no one says we need a tank support or another utility support i just want a support, i'm not complaining saying we need one of each support before another jungler is released like you are with tank junglers, is it really that bad to ask for 1 support after the release of 11 champions?
