Star Guardian Riven - Make it Happen Riot!
So Riot's actually paid some seriously great homage to the magical girl genre, especially with this new update. Not only did they make the characters all different ages in the Star Guardian canon to fit with tropes in normal magical girl shows, they added mascots (two for Jinx and one for Lulu) -- as well as adding Jinx as the dark magical girl of the group. A lot of people don't agree with Jinx being a Star Guardian but it makes sense for the genre.
Now the only thing they're missing? They have everything other than one last trope. This is the ultimate form Magical Girl. Sailor Moon becomes Sailor Cosmos. Madoka becomes Ultimate/Goddess Madoka. Matoi Ryuko gets Fashion Week Senketsu. It's the only unexplored trope left in the magical girl genre, and the best contender for the spot is Riven.
Why Riven?
Final Forms are powerful, and a source of awe. Vayne gets something similar to a final form, but she's mostly concealed and trying to be sneaky. Her goal isn't to draw attention to herself, and it's quite the opposite. When a Riven ults, she ults in. The ult is a buff of a decent duration, so the change would be impactful and meaningful. Basically to complete the set, they definitely need someone with a powerful and thematically appropriate final form to fit the skin. Quinn is another 'contender' but she can toggle in and out of ult and that doesn't make for a good and cool final form character.
Other ideas for Star Guardian Riven:
She gets small outfit changes with each upgrade to her ulti kind of like Ezreal. Perhaps Riven pre ulti rank 3 would get a different final form kind of like an Eternal Sailor moon -> Sailor Cosmos type spiel. Either that or her weapon changes kind of like the upgrades magical girls get to their weapons in shows (see Pretty Cure, Sailor Moon, Tokyo Mew Mew)
The change in weapon would change the particles but not the outfit. Outside of Final Form Riven should fit in with the rest of the Star Guardian cast.
