Another Champion Concept- Alacarne, the Bound

There was a period of 3 months some time ago where my laptop broke and I couldn't play League of Legends. However, I was fond enough of the game that I decided to make some champion concepts to pass the time. 4 concepts in particular were well received by other League players, so I decided I might as well upload them to see if others liked the ideas. Riot, if you in any way like the ideas, feel free to use them in whatever fashion you wish. I would require no credit nor compensation in any fashion.

Role His primary role is Mage His resource is Mana

**Lore ** Colonel Alacarne was a member of the Noxian High Command for several years, serving loyally under General Boram Darkwill in his wars against the other Valoran states. Alacarne was an incredibly intelligent and temperamentally cold young boy, he gained the attention of Boram Darkwill at the tender age of 9 years old after he killed several men who were tormenting his mother. The young Alacarne was conscripted and given tougher and more difficult tests, each of which he passed with ease and an arrogance that the tests were beneath him; the challenges ranged from testing his command of strategy, to controlling his magic, and pushing his physical prowess to higher and higher limits. After he reached adulthood, he was put to work analyzing the strengths of the enemy forces as well as any weaknesses shown by Noxian officers. He was regarded as essential by Boram, as an unbeatable leader by his soldiers, and as a danger to any officer who might make mistakes in the field. He was most noted for the grin he always wore; many a man thought the smile a sign of camaraderie and a gesture of friendship. They were wrong, behind that smile was the coldest and most analytical mind Noxus had ever produced, and he did not make friends.

But his legend was not without failure; assured of the death of a Demacian officer he had deemed threatening, Alacarne had finally dropped his guard. This mistake cost him dearly, his regiment was decimated in the ambush led by the unslain Demacian officer. Alacarne watched as his men died in droves around him for his mistake in believing what his superiors had told him. After a lifetime of perfection and achievement, he had been defeated by the failure of others. Taking many wounds himself and nearly drowning in his blood alongside his dying soldiers, cracks began to form in his brilliant mind. They might have healed with time and rest, but Alacarne was given neither.

While he was recovering, the leadership of Noxus was contested; Jericho Swain challenged Darkwill's son for the right to become Grand General. Knowing Alacarne's allegiance was with Darkwill, Jericho had him imprisoned deep below Noxus; down where no light reached. Silence enveloped Alacarne in his black cell, his only interaction was the odd word or two when his jailer brought him food. Nobody noticed the madness slowly claiming Alacarne's eyes, turning his normal passive smile into a crazed grin of a madman. A madman who had one specific person he could pin all of his anger to. His revenge on the Demacian officer was denied to him, a red-haired assassin had dealt with the officer after his successful ambush, killing him in the midst of his personal guard. But through the twisted lens of madness, Alacarne saw only Swain as his tormentor, and plotted to take his vengeance on the Tactician.

Eventually his bonds grew weak, and Alacarne emerged from his cell- Alacarne slew his jailers with the very bonds he had been imprisoned with. His malice merged with his magic, creating arcs of crimson energy that flashed along his chains when he struck the enemy. His talent for combat had not diminished in his long exile, nor had his mind deteriorated, merely changed by his lapsing sanity. He was well aware Swain would be notified immediately of his escape and would be on guard, as well as send his best men to take Alacarne, dead or alive.

Seeking asylum, Alacarne made his way to the Institute of War and asked to join. Remembering his stellar record during the wars, and fearing to leave Alacarne free to upset the balance of power in Noxus, the council accepted Alacarne as a champion. He now spends his time fighting on the Fields of Justice, as well as planning to take his sweet revenge on Swain.

"Don't let that smile fool you, behind that grin he's plotting to kill you." -A warning from Noxian reports on their prisoners

**Abilities ** *Innate - Malice: * As he deals damage Alacarne gains 2 Malice per auto-attack, and 10 Malice every time he lands an ability on an enemy champion. Using abilities on minions will not generate any Malice. At 100 stacks the next time he lands an ability on an enemy he will activate into a "Pure Malice" mode which will lend extra magic damage to his skills as well as 20% of his AP to his auto-attacks as magic damage while the mode is active. After activation the boost will degrade his Malice stacks at a rate of 10 stacks a second- he is unable to gain additional Malice until the stacks run out. When the stacks do reach 0, he will deactivate his Pure Malice buff. The Malice boost damage for skills will upgrade at level 8 and level 16. His Malice stacks will not fade over time. Only death or activating Pure Malice will remove his stacks. This does not increase Alacarne's AP, it merely adds 20% of it to his auto-attacks while Pure Malice is activated.

Q - Lament: Alacarne lashes out with his chains, dealing magic damage in a straight line in front of him. If he strikes an enemy he can use the ability an additional time (0.5s CD) for no mana cost. The 2nd cast has a "sweet spot" at the end of the range that will silence the enemy for 2 seconds. The 2nd cast will only remain available for 1.5 seconds before the ability goes on cooldown. Range: 800 Width: 100 Sweet Spot area: 100 diameter inside end of skillshot Cooldown: 12 / 11 / 10 / 9 / 8 seconds Cost: 80 / 85 / 90 / 95 / 100 Mana Magic Damage: 45 / 85 / 125 / 165 / 205 (+ 50% AP) 2nd shot damage: 55 / 95 / 135 / 175 / 215 (No extra scaling) Malice Additional Damage: 50 / 100 / 150 (Applied to either shot)

*W - Sympathy: * A ground-targeted AoE ability. After a delay, chains will rise from the earth and encircle the area, filling it with crimson lighting. Any enemy in the area will be stunned for 1 second. There will be a brief warning for 0.5 seconds in the form of the chains sliding around the circle of the AoE. Radius: 150 Range: 1000 Cooldown: 18 / 16 / 14 / 12 / 10 seconds Cost: 80 / 80 / 85 / 90 / 90 Mana Magic Damage: 80 / 130 / 180 / 230 / 280 (+ 40% AP) Malice Additional Damage: 35 / 75 / 115

E - Wrath: Alacarne whirls his chains in a circle, dealing magic damage. Radius: 250 Cooldown: 15 / 14 / 13 / 12 / 11 seconds Cost: 70 / 80 / 90 / 100 / 110 mana Damage: 80 / 120 / 160 / 200 / 240 (+ 40% AP) Malice Additional Damage: 50 / 100 / 150 This ability can be used while moving.

R - Vengeance: Alacarne suspends the enemy in chains, suppressing them for 2 seconds; the ability will deal 25% increased damage for every 0.5 seconds the enemy is suppressed, to a maximum of 100% increased damage at the full 2 seconds. By default the ability will stay for the full duration, but reactivating the ability will cancel the suppression and allow Alacarne to move and use abilities like normal. The damage occurs in two parts, the initial damage at the start and the additional damage when the suppression ends. The additional damage will change depending on how long the suppression is held, the maximum suppression is still 2 seconds. Alacarne is rooted for the duration of this ability and may not use abilities while the enemy is suppressed. Any hard CC used on Alacarne will remove the suppression on the enemy champion as will any soft CC that stops channeled abilities, it will also negate the additional part of the damage. Range: 565 Cooldown: 120 / 100 / 80 seconds Cost: 150 Mana Initial Damage: 75 / 150 / 225 (+60% AP) Maximum Damage: 150 / 300 / 450 (+120% AP) -The malice damage boost will only apply for the initial damage- Malice additional damage: 50 / 100 / 150 Long story short: Using the skill on an enemy deals the initial damage, then the enemy is suppressed and additional damage will be dealt when the suppression ends and will change depending on how long the suppression is held.

Tips and Tricks Alacarne's Q will hit through minions, simply hiding behind a creep wave will not impede his Q's damage- you have to dodge. If Alacarne hits you with the first Q be wary of the 2nd shot since it can silence you if he lands the sweet spot. What's most important is to land/dodge his stun as he will combo you for damage afterwords. Spamming Alacarne's abilities will leave him mana hungry, make note of this as it can leave him OoM and vulnerable. His stun, Sympathy, does not require him to face the direction it is fired, do not be fooled by his back being turned. Alacarne's cooldowns are not short early game, take note of his ability usage and be prepared to run/attack when they are on CD. His E, Wrath, can be used while moving; use this to your advantage to safely clear waves by moving forward then back. His Pure malice attacks will deal extra damage as he uses abilities, when you see his stacks at full be sure to dodge his abilities as they have extra damage. Keep note of Alacarne's Malice Stacks, fighting him when Malice has been activated is much riskier than fighting him without it

Appearance He hovers along, his chains scraping the ground. He has wild black hair framing his face and descending to his shoulders. His eyes glow with a red energy. His cloak and his colonel outfit are colored red and torn nearly into rags. His chains still cling to his arms and across his chest. His face is gaunt and pale. He wears a pair of boots but his ragged pants descend past his feet. He is around his 30s in age. And, of course, he's always smiling.

Skin Idea High Command Alacarne: Alacarne in his official High Command uniform, all nice and un-torn. His hair is a respectable length but tied into a small ponytail and kept out of his eyes. Instead of chains he has magical energy swirling around him.
