Chitin: The Ocean's Claw Health: 500-2250 Health Regen: 7-25 Mana: 200-1000 Mana Regen: 6-15 Range: 125 with left claw, 175 with right. Attack Damage: 50-120 Attack Speed: 6.5+(0-40%) Armor: 20-100 Magic Resist: 32.1-53.4 Movement Speed: 345

Passive: Size Matters: Every other auto attack (or every 4 seconds without auto attacking) Chitin uses his massive right claw and deals 15+5*level+60% ap bonus physical damage. His left claw does normal basic attacking damage.

Q: Cavitation Shot: Chitin snaps his right claw, forming a cavitation bubble. The bubble is a pass through skill shot that deals 80/110/140/170/200+50% ap magic damage to all enemies it passes through. Upon hitting the first enemy champ it touches, the bubble stops moving and instead explodes on contact, dealing the same amount to the first hit champ, but not passthrough damage, and damaging units in a 300 range circle around the first champion hit for half that amount. Stuns the first hit champion for 1 second, other units in radius are slowed by 30% for 2 seconds. The stunned champ is also slowed by the same amount for 1 second after the stun ends. 1000 range, 2000 speed, 100 width, costs 50/55/60/65/70 mana and 15 sec cool down.

W: Crush Claw: Chitin slams his large right claw into the ground in a 400 range semicircle around his right claw only, dealing 40/80/120/160/200+ 50% ap physical damage and slows targets hit by 50% for 1 second. Costs 30/35/40/45/50 mana, 10/9/8/7/6 second cool down.

E: Jet propulsion: Chitin dashes 300/350/400/450/500 units toward target location, after which he cannot move for .5 seconds, but can attack and cast abilities. 3 second cool down. Damage reduction does not apply when this ability is on cool down. Costs 30/35/40/45/50 mana. Passive: Chitin gains 6/7/8/9/10% damage reduction

**R: Claw Cannon: **Chitin charges water for .5 seconds, then releases a huge cannon of water from his right claw for 2 seconds in target direction, dealing 100/150/200+50% ap magic damage to all enemies hit and knocks them back for the duration of the cannon since hit. Enemies that hit a wall take double damage. After the effect ends, hit enemies are slowed by 50% for 1 second. Chitin can't move, auto attack, or cast other abilities while charging or shooting water but does benefit from the damage reduction on his E. Costs 100/125/150 mana, 120/110/100 second cool down. 300 width, 1000 range 2000 speed.

**Description: **

Chitin is based off of a pistol shrimp, with his huge right claw and smaller left claw, but his body is flatter and larger like that of a lobster. He is a blue/gray color with a segmented body, and scuttles around with his 6 legs. Chitin is an AP melee fighter with considerable natural bulk and the ability to deal big damage when combined with his auto attacks. He is designed for the jungle, and his core items would be a Nashor's tooth and Lich Bane to capitalize on his passive. He relies heavily on positioning, as parts of his abilities only affect half his body. With proper positioning he can deal large amounts of damage and has considerable stickiness. His mobility is slow at first, but when used in conjunction with his E, he can be surprisingly nimble, and can use it to correct his positioning. Chitin has a handful of unique and powerful tools up his sleeve if used correctly, but if he falls out of position or if attacked in a weak area, he can fall apart. Counter play would come in the form of abusing his need for proper positioning

Chitin's passive is his main form of damage, making him do huge damage with his right claw, but much less with his left. Chitin is an auto-attacking champion who's auto attacks scale with ap, making him a dangerous hybrid-penetration champ. His burst is lopsided though, which means only every other auto attack will be dealing heavy damage.

Chitin's Q is his main form of cc. Offering a short, but long ranged, stun and slow, which he can use to stop enemies in their tracks. It's based off of one distinct feature of a pistol shrimp, in which they snap their massive right claw and create a deadly cavitation bubble.

Chitin's W is his primary form of stickiness and secondary form of damage. It offers decent damage, a decent slow, and a reasonable cool down, but its mana cost somewhat prevents long term spamming. It is used for short range AOE clearing in the jungle and stickiness when dueling or ganking. The stickiness of this ability helps Chitin stay in auto-attacking range of his target, thus synergizing well with his passive.

Chitin's E is a movement related ability. It acts as a medium ranged dash, but afterward, Chitin can't move for .5 seconds. This makes the ability useful to get to nearby places quickly, but the movement delay means enemies will have time to catch up when running to or from him. It passively gives Chitin damage reduction, but be weary, the damage reduction does not apply when the ability is on cool down.

Chitin's R is an incredibly powerful ability that offers a large knock back and lots of damage when used in conjunction with terrain. Chitin is otherwise defenseless when using it, save for the damage reduction on his E, which still applies. Use it to knock enemies under a friendly tower or shut down an escape while ganking. Or during team fights, use it for peeling to get enemies off of a squishy ally or knocking back groups of enemies.

Lore:

Many centuries ago, when humanity discovered the ability to use and control magic, many of them were consumed by their inner greed and evil. As more and more people learned how to use it, so did dangerous criminals. They attempted to use magic to mold the world in their image by any means possible, even killing. Stories were told of one such man, a magician, who believed he could unleash a massive flood upon humanity by charging it with magic over many years and then sending it upon Runeterra to exterminate everyone. So his quest began. He took refuge in the Shadow Isles, where he thought no one would interrupt his channeling as he pumped every ounce of magic he could muster into the water. But the stories also told of his downfall, as a fearless explorer came across him and slew him for using magic for such a devious intention. However that explorer was too late, for the magician had already been channeling magic into the water for several years. This had poisoned the water, making it black as far as the eye could see. If you were to travel under the black, magic infected water and see the effect of so much magic on the creatures below the waves, you probably wouldn't live to tell the tale. The magic had fundamentally altered the ocean's creatures, binding their very DNA with a magical essence, causing them to grow bigger, stronger, smarter, and above all, giving them control of magic. Below the waves lies a rune war of its own. A war of survival between these newly altered creatures struggling for dominance and the chance to live another day. One such creature was Chitin. Chitin was born fighting. A giant lobster shaped being with sharp claws, one of which, looked massively overgrown. He used his amazing tools to survive and fend off predators too stupid to recognize how dangerous Chitin truly was. But Chitin could do more. "What's the purpose of living only to survive?" He thought. Chitin wanted more, but didn't know how to get it. Until one day, while hunting, he came across some oddly shaped, metallic colored figure being dragged into the abyss by a series of massive tentacles. "A Cepholaderm." Chitin thought, regarding the tentacles. Chitin didn't know what exactly the magic altered octopus was holding, but he knew if it dragged the creature any further, the creature would meet its end. Thinking quickly, Chitin sped into action, jetting toward the Cephaloderm at top speed, and slicing off its tentacles with his razor sharp claws. The metallic creature kept falling further into the abyss, but at least this time he wouldn't be falling onto the Cephaloderm, which had fled after being attacked. Chitin followed the creature until it landed on the grimy seafloor. Eventually the thing regained consciousness, and looked around, surprised to be alive. It then turned, and started marching its way through the muck, with an odd v shaped weapon sitting on top of its shoulder. Chitin knew not what the creature was doing, but thought it best if he followed it. At least for a little while. Chitin lagged behind the hulking creature as it trudged blindly through the darkness. It wasn't until after many days of traveling that the water became shallower, and eventually the pair hit land. As Chitin broke the surface no more than 100 yards away from the beast, he heard the screams of many similarly shaped, but much smaller creatures. They ran frantically from the beast as it moved along the land, and Chitin remained watching, ever persistent in learning what these things were. Such following eventually led Chitin to the institute of war. But only after following who he now knew as Nautilus there for an ungodly amount of miles. It was there that Chitin was taught of humans, along with their culture and language. But most importantly, Chitin learned about magic. Chitin demonstrated a huge amount of magical power, and, when combined with his amazing physical survival traits, he was offered a spot as a Champion in the League of Legends. Chitin gladly accepted, finally ready to use his fighting talents for a purpose.
