Riot, I understand that skins are the main source of income for you, but the community goes through so much work to make amazing custom skins, that due to copyright or no acknowledgment, does not make it into the game. Obviously other people cannot see the custom skin and Mac users don't even have the ability to use custom skins either. I think it would be a huge love to the community that you give us this ability. What do you think?
The reason that won't happen is because, as you said, copyright issues. They aren't strictly speaking legal....they're not prohibited as a something like scripting or anything, but they aren't really allowed. Riot let's it slide because they don't really cause any harm, and for most people, just getting your Rammus to look like Sonic the Hedgehog is too much work for what it's worth (people like to show off their skins to other players, and having a custom skin makes that impossible)
It's not too difficult to install custom skins. The only issue is that you have to re-install them after every patch. Not only this, but the ability to customize some characters is also difficult.
