Work in Progress, feedback is greatly appreciated.

Shai'Tan, the former emperor of the Shadow Isles has been banished from his domain. He is now sought out to become greater, powerful, the strongest warrior in all of Runeterra, no matter who or what is in his way.

Shai'Tan is a versatile solo laner and jungler, that excels in teamfights and skirmishes. He can quickly turn the tides of a fight single handedly and duel carries as a glass cannon carry, a bruiser duelist or a tanky damage sponge.

#Abilities

[Passive] - Tyranny

**Desecration: **Shai'Tan gains bonus attack speed based on the targets missing health for 2 seconds (this bonus is halved for minions and monsters). This bonus is equal to their missing health percentage.

**Bloodlust: **Shai'Tan grows in strength as his foes become weaker, transforming when the combined missing health total of nearby enemy champions is above 60 / 75 / 100 / 150%. Transforming grants Shai'Tan bonus AD , armor, magic resistance and health for 15 seconds. Getting a kill or an assist on an enemy champion while in this form transforms Shai'Tan an additional time granting him an additional effect on his abilities and 20% bonus movespeed when moving towards enemy champions, however, Shai'Tan is progressively slowed by up to 50% if moving away from enemy champions during this time. This bonus lasts for 10 seconds and its timer is reset upon getting a kill or an assist on an enemy champion.

(Bonuses change at levels 6 / 11 / 16) Attack Damage Bonus: 10 / 20 / 30 / 40 Armor Bonus: 12.5 / 15 / 17.5 / 20 Magic Resist Bonus: 12.5 / 15 / 17.5 / 20 Health Bonus: 125 / 250 / 375 / 500

[Q] - Corrupting Twilight
COST: 50 / 60 / 70 / 80 / 90 mana
COOLDOWN: 10 / 9 / 8 / 7 / 6 seconds RANGE: 550 units

**ACTIVE: **Shai'Tan dashes a short distance towards target enemy champion, enemy minion, or monster, striking out dealing 10 / 40 / 70 / 100 / 130 (+ 115% AD) and applying on-hit effects.

Tyranny Bonus: If Corrupting Twilight hits an enemy champion, then Shai'Tan spins in an AOE cone dealing 90 / 110 / 130 / 150 / 170 (+45 / 50 / 55 / 60 / 65% AD) damage to all nearby enemies

PASSIVE: Shai'Tan's auto attacks and damaging spells apply stacks of Corruption on enemy champions, upon reaching 5 stacks, the champion receives 25 + 5 / 7.5 / 10 / 12.5 / 15% of their missing health as bonus magic damage from Shai'Tan's auto attacks.

[W] - Emperors Shroud COST: 80 mana COOLDOWN: 22 / 21 / 20 / 19 / 18 seconds RANGE: 1500 units

After a very small delay, Shai'Tan extracts the life essence of surrounding enemy minions, monsters and champions dealing 10 / 30 / 50 / 70 / 90 (+10% of the targets missing health) and converts this damage into a shield blocking an additional 10 / 30 / 50 / 70 / 90 (+15% of Shai'Tan's missing health) for 5 seconds. The damage against minions is uncapped, but the shield value for each minion is capped at 50.

Tyranny Bonus: Shai'Tan also fears surrounding enemies for 1.1 / 1.2 / 1.3 / 1.4 / 1.5 seconds, and the duration of the shield is increased to 10 seconds.

[E] - Shifting Shadows COST: 70 / 75 / 80 / 85 / 90 mana COOLDOWN: 25 / 23.75 / 22.5 / 21.25 / 20 seconds RANGE: 750 units

Shai'Tan dashes a medium distance towards target location, if Shai'Tan lands on an enemy champion he gains 200 range on his next auto attack and fades back into his max auto attack range. His next auto will also deal 25 / 40 / 55 / 70 / 95 bonus physical damage and reduce the targets armor by 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40 % for 2.5 seconds.

Tyranny Bonus: The range on Shifting Shadows is increased by 500, and its cooldown is reset upon getting a kill or an assist.

[R] - Tyrants Grasp COST: 100 mana COOLDOWN: 150 / 125 / 100

Shai'Tan grabs targeted enemy champion, suppressing them, and after a short period of time, puts himself and that champion into stasis. After a short period of time Shai'Tan deals 100 / 200 / 300 + 15 / 25 / 35% of the targets max health (+75 / 100 / 125% bonus AD) as physical damage. If this damage does not kill the target they are freed and refunded all health lost during the process and if Shai'Tan is empowered by Bloodlust, he returns to his regular state.

Tyranny Bonus: Deals an additional 20 x (Champion Level) as bonus true damage. (360 at level 18).

#Favourable and Unfavourable Matchups

Gangplank Gangplank

Shai'Tan struggles against range champions, and Gangplank is certainly no exception. He can safely zone Shai'Tan with his barrels taking advantage of his short range, while withering Shai'Tan down with low-cooldown, high damage poke. Shai'Tan also excels at executing low health enemies, but Gangplanks oranges will keep him well and healthy, not to mention the fact his oranges completely free him from Shai'Tan's ultimate.

Tryndamere Tryndamere

Tryndameres large amounts of damage and great chase potential makes it a hard time for Shai'Tan. Tryndamere also has the ability to pick up mercurial scimitar or quick silver sash, and with that on top of Tryndameres ult, Shai'Tan will have a difficult time trying to kill Trynd.

Morgana Morgana

Because Shai'Tan is weak against hard cc, he has a very hard time against Morgana. On top of that, Morgana can Black Shield an allied champion being ulted by Shai'Tan in the small window before they go into stasis, the Black Shield will immediately free the allied champion from his grasps, leaving him vulnerable.

Irelia Irelia

Shai'Tan lacks crowd control, but makes up for it with his abundance of damage in extended fights, even more to an extent than Irelia. In fights, Irelia usually likes to have a small health disadvantage so she can make the most out of her e, shield don't count as health, and Shai'Tan has a very powerful one. Once Irelia gets him low he can shield without the risk of being stunned and chase her down for the kill.

Chogath Cho'Gath

Cho'Gath has an abundance of health, and Shai'Tan will have no problem shredding through it all. Shai'Tan can shield when he's low denying Cho'Gath the use of Feast, and Cho's abilities can be easily dodged with Shai'Tan's mobility. Also Cho'Gath has no response to Death Grasp, and no mobility to run away from it.

Renekton Renekton

Even though Renekton is known as the bully of the top lane, he is just a shadow of what Shai'Tan can become. Shai'Tan will out damage Renekton in extended fights, and can get away from Renekton with relative ease if he has the advantage. Shai'Tan can shred through armor and health, so the croc has little options when it comes to itemization.

#Laning and Itemization

Shai'Tan can be played top or jungle as an Assassin, a Bruiser or a Tank, giving him lots of flexibility in champ select.

As an assassin your build could contain armor penetration, cooldown reduction, a life steal item, some critical-chance and lots of attack damage (you could also go attack speed). In lane you're either gonna wanna play safe or super aggressive, depending on who you're facing. Once you pick up a few finished items you're gonna wanna roam for your passive potential, try and start team fights by pushing aggressively. Late game is pretty straight forward, because you're an assassin you'll be squishy, so focus more on flanking over brush with Shifting Shadows and trying to make a few picks on their carries. Because you're vulnerable for a short period of time while ulting you'll want to use it to pick off someone isolated from their team. Assassin Shai'Tan in the jungle is not recommended.

As a bruiser or tank, you'll want to focus more on defense than damage, but still have 1 to 3 damage items, preferably Triforce and Blade of the Ruined king, as Shai'Tan will benefit greatly from the On-hit effects. In lane you should be playing passively, but punish your opponents when they make mistakes in lane (ie. being out of position, trying to trade with you), and when you see an opportunity go in for the kill with your strong executions. You should get a few turrets before you roam to help other lanes. Late game focus on either protecting your carries or zoning the enemy teams carry.

#Strengths and Weaknesses

Shai'Tan has extremely high duel potential, along with a fairly bursty kit. He is a flexible champion that can fight almost anyone, and not to mention great team fights thanks to his passive. However Shai'Tan lacks any form of consistent crowd control and can be easily shut down early game. Due to his ult having a brief channel, any form of hard crowd control will cause it to fizzle, and even if he gets it off, if the target survives he leaves himself very vulnerable.

#Lore

Shai'Tan, the tyrannical emperor of the Shadow Isles, or at least, he used to be. After the people of the Shadow Isles found out that their 'beloved' king was of the Void, they finally had an excuse for mutiny, immediately jumping at the opportunity to over throw their insane ruler and put an end to his tyranny. But Shai'Tan's power was too great for them, and so he escaped, fleeing back to his home world, the Void. Shai'Tan realized why he had left the Void in the first place, the place disgusted him, scrawny creatures, hungering for the flesh of the mortals of Runeterra, Shai'Tan was better than this, but he could no longer return to the Shadow Isles, and so he looked for a greater purpose, searching across the vast lands of Runeterra, overcoming obstacles, and destroying villages that laid in his wake. After years of searching, Shai'Tan found himself his purpose: To Become the strongest warrior in all of Runeterra, and what better way to this than joining, the League of Legends.

#Appearance and Characteristics

Shai'Tan is a large character, smaller than Sion but still large, he floats above the ground similar similar to Malzhahar and leaves a trail of darkness behind him. He carries a black scythe with one hand and keeps the other hand to his side. He wears a dark robe that conceals his face, so you can only see a shadow, no eyes are visible. He also wears metal gloves with sharp finger tips. When Shai'Tan transforms into his second form, he emits a dark aura around him and he holds his scythe with both hands and keeps it below him, if you look closely he also has faint white glowing eyes. In the third form he holds his scythe behind him as he runs towards enemy champions keeping it in the air, but drags it when running away from them. He also has glowing red eyes now and a faint, ominous smile. Shai'Tan's voice is low and shuttering, it echos slightly after he says something, and you can hear a very slight, low pitched buzz in the background.

#Closing Remarks / About the Authors(s)

This guide is by 2 people, ItsYusk and myself (ItsDraig). Both of us are currently Gold 3 in NA and we've been interested in the idea of making / designing a champion for a while now. This is our first one.

This is still a work in progress and i'll probably edit some stuff when i have the time to, but until then...

Thoughts?

#Editnotes 7/26/15 - Build released. 7/27/15 - First edit, changing name from Shai'Tan to Reh'Jis (Thanks to TheFirstGokun for suggestion), also adding base damage and nerfing level 16 maxhealth % on tyrant grasp. Re-working OP passive (bloodlust), and slightly revamping quotes. More edits coming shortly. :)

note: Thinking of adding a alternative resource bar (a replacement for mana), ideas? Also, if you have an idea for a champion interaction please let me know. (Joke or taunt)

I'm going to try to be as nice as I can, so bear with me.

Shai'Tan is a versatile solo laner and jungler, that excels in teamfights and skirmishes. He can quickly turn the tides of a fight single handedly and duel carries as a glass cannon carry, a bruiser duelist or a tanky damage sponge.

This is a problem already. Too many people come on the boards saying "I want my champion to be good at solo laning and able to dominate a fight no matter how he builds!" So, tell me, what are his weaknesses? Just start thinking about that right now and you can tell me at the end of this review. Anyway, onto his passive. Explain Desecration; is it just an attack speed boost for any champion he attacks? Does the bonus change when he attacks a different target? Make it based off % missing health and clarify how it works, example:

Desecration: Shai'Tan gains an attack speed bonus each time he basic attacks an enemy based on his target's % missing health. This bonus is halved when he attacks minions and monsters. The attack speed bonus is renewed every time he basic attacks.

Oh, but it's a double passive. Bloodlust is, in a word, overloaded. Bonuses to everything, movement speed bonuses towards enemies and extra bonuses on his ability effects okay can we just talk about this? BUT he gets a 50% slow running away from champions. So that's basically a passive that says "NO NO KEEP GOING YOU CAN KILL THEM" no matter what. You're not allowed to run, so you have to keep fighting with your insane passive steroids. But that doesn't feel like a reward for skillfully finishing an enemy. That's just your manager pumping you full of raw eggs and saying "ONE MORE ROUND, ONE MORE ROUND" even if you can't keep going. In the end, Shai'Tan is either overpowered, fed or dead. I'd suggest rethinking this ability entirely, perhaps in favor of something more focused on Desecration's theme of further crushing the weak, as a tyrant would do. Make him a steamroller, not a bulldozer, if that makes sense. Hope you don't mind me harping on the Passive, but this is a mechanic which defines his gameplay so it should be a focus for you.

Now for his abilities... Oh wow. Alright, so two dashes and a Vlad E + Shield. Also a pretty weak execute. I understand the need for Tyranny now. A few quick things before I get to the main topic: Specify if W gives him a shield based on how many people he hits. If it doesn't it probably should. His mana costs are ridiculously high. Every ability costs 90/100 mana at max rank, but you haven't specified that he needs to build mana items. Oh well? His ult needs higher base damage (not all % max health, as we know how that varies from champion to champion) or a rework. It tends to do pretty much nothing until level 16 except leave him in a bad spot for no reason.

Okay, his gameplay makes sense to me now. However, you seem to have different ideas. Shai'Tan's strength isn't exactly in duels, as reaching level 6 means he can't activate Tyranny with only one enemy champion nearby. He actually has a level 6 power dip. His best dueling tool is definitely his Q, but he has to level it up pretty high (same for his W) to do anything. Thus, his true strength is currently entirely focused on reaching lategame and wrecking face in teamfights. Consider that and make it more of a focus for this guy (who'd probably end up being a bruiser anyway, he doesn't have enough instant 1v1 damage potential).

From a character standpoint, his ideals and motivations are a bit iffy. He says "I will cleanse this vile world" and "I will corrupt you" in the same breath. Does he think of himself as righteous or evil? What exploration could you do into his character other than "He kills people" and "He fights people". How about a man who thinks of himself as a righteous king and resents Azir for that reason, having a position he never could have? How about a man running from the Void in pursuit of worldly power wherever he can find it, a sort of traveling royalty trying to find a place in the world? I just think his character is too straight up "kill kill kill serious face" to be enjoyable. Try a bit of exploration with his character :)

Anyway, that's all I've got for now. There's some potential here, but you should put more work into pinning down his unique gameplay and lore niche. Reviewer, away!summoner 4

P.S. For a name I'd suggest something notably royal such as Reh'Jis (Regis) or Kyn'Lee (Kingly). Look around and do some research, see what you can find.

Great and cool champion DESIGN but think about this, why/how could the shadow isles have a tyrant nobody there would put up with tht for a second, and you never said how hecarom lost his bottom half.because thats what your champion looks like. But on tbe other hand i love the functionality part. Not the actual look of the champ or the idea of his origin.

This champion is overly op his q does to much damage late game with the right build this ability could be dealing 1300 dmg every 3.5 seconds thats scary because of the on hit effects allow a crit build in his kit. His passive is ridiculous and would make him add a little tankyness and he would be scarier then olaf since olaf is one of the best skirmishers. His chase capabilities surpass that of akali since his chases are such low cooldown you would never escape him. His ultimate is broken beyond measure as in true damage would allow him to deal more damage then a veigar and still be able to be on the frontlines, If you had 250 ad you could easlily do 2000 true damage and veigar would only be able to do around 1600 magic damage and that is a huge difference as his damage can be halved with 50 magic resist and true damage goes through everything. He has more burstiness than a assassin more chase capabilities then an akali, the tankyness of a renekton, and a little less more sustain than a vlad. That needs to go get rid of flat ad ratios and add bonus ad ratios. The percent health bonus damage has to be nerfed big time. item 3153 item 3102 item 1316 item 3031 item 3078 item 3142 this build would make him an unstoppable killing force. His passive needs to be nerfed because this allows him to use his q more often and it already does twice the damage of most ults with a 6 second cooldown. In this build while in a teamfight with good runes and masteries he would have 3000(3600 with passive and reason its 600 increase because i would run juggernaut mastery with him) health with 150 armor and magic resist with 280 ad(320 with passive) with a basic attack with 8% physical health damage, 45% crit chance
a spellblade passive, around 430 movement speed, 15% lifesteal, 10% cdr, with an active of 10% percent health steal and about 1.6 attack speed. OMG that is stupid powerful wow with this his Q has the ability to deal 1700 damage with spellblade and crit, every 4 seconds and hes tanky enough and has enough sustain to deal his q about 3-4 times if focused and understand this you wont get away. understand nice idea horrible ratios and numbers, decrease other ability cooldowns and make his Q much more weaker and he should balance out and his ult take away percent health in all because thats more than mordekaisers ult and thats not the added ratio and flat damage. Otherwise good job as he stands now i would ban him for life in ranked and never play blind draft every again in my life cuz omg he counters every top if built right and the person playing him is not a total idiot. Of the people who you said would counter him tryn is really the only one cuz of his ult and damage potential cuz gangplank would die cuz of this guys dashes gangplank can shoot one bullet you have chases for life, and with morgana she so squishy all you'd have to do is get one q off and that would come up every 4 seconds her shield and snare is 10. The only champ that would beat this guy is someone you has 4 stuns and they come up every 5 seconds and they last a second.
