When someone says "Support pref" in ranked.

For some reason I'm seeing more supports lately and I actually have to compete for it...

"only vel koz support tho, I cant play anybody else"

If I played ranked I'd be so popular

I love how I say "Support Pref" and everyone's like

I don't know what's so special about it. I see support mains (other than me) in roughly half my games.

Every time someone says "please let me support" I'm just like "oh darn I wanted to support soooo bad but I guess I'll let you have it, fam ;)" But in my head I'm just blown the fuck away that anyone wants to support in a ranked game. I'd sooner take Lulu mid or top to provide CC and buffs to the team than support a feeding ADC and have no way to carry the game.

I like to support:

Reasons:

1. It is 90% a guaranteed position at my level of play, so might as well main it (easy way to get main role)

2. you usually do not have to fight with someone for your role

3. your team is usually happier that none of them have to take that role

4. I (for some unexplained reason) get enjoyment out of helping people

5. It trains you how to ward better (grant it you can learn to ward in other lanes, but in this role you are more forced to ward than other lanes)

6. you have a duo lane (if your lane goes south, you are not viewed as the sole culprit; if it does well and you knew your adc was crappy, you get the satisfaction you were able to make that scrub seem as if they knew what they were doing ;)

7. you do not have to worry about the pressure of a carry role (mind you, that I do miss out on the perceived glory of the carry roles, but then again I also miss out on the infinite rage given to carry roles who got crapped on in game :)

8. you only have to wait 2 seconds for this position in team-builder

9. you get the enjoyment of denying enemy kills and then indirectly killing them by doing so (oh so many times I have stopped them... sooo much entertainment)

Grant it, I enjoy doing other roles as well (I do enjoy a good once in a while, but basically guaranteeing your main role is just too much to pass up! Also, don't look at it as "I got stuck into placing wards for this stupid adc;" make your goal as, "can I make my adc crush the enemy bot lane and can I save him in clutch situations." If you change your perspective, the role can be more fun. Also... DO NOT THINK BECAUSE SOMEONE MAINS SUPPORT THAT THEY ARE A WOMAN!!! ARRRRGHHHHHHH!!! (ohhhh, the profiling)

P.S. I am still classified to many of you as a scrub, thus you may treat whatever I say in whatever way you want to. I have not tried ranked yet still being relatively new to the game and am waiting for more experience, BUT I am trying to learn as much as possible about it. Besides, there are people still under 30 who post stuff here, so why not!

I had a game earlier this morning where THREE WHOLE PEOPLE fought over support like it was the end of the world if they didn't get it. And then there's teambuilder :(

Everytime I play ranked...A bunch of people want supp. I'm like noooo so I try to ADC. (but I have only played a few ranked games)

I have terrible luck.

I really want something similar to team builder for ranked.
