It had been days since the siege had first begun, and their had been countless loses on both sides. If it weren't for the severity of the battle, the forces at work may have noticed the disappearances of the dead, but there was far too much at stake to worry about those who had already passed. What little remained of both sides fought for everything they could, although regrettably many of the Legion's champions had either disappeared, or never showed up at all. It was of little consequence, however. Their involvement was more of a formality, the Shade had all he needed.

In replacement of willing men, the Shade had unearthed some of the darkest creatures both known and unknown to the world of man. Gargantuan brutes from deep within the Voodoo Lands, the Storm Giant, Gelid; The Ascendant, Xerath; and several cohorts of animated suits of armor fought in Ahimoth's name, but under the Shade's command. Both the Ascendant and Storm Giant resisted the Shade's will, making his most needed assets the most unreliable. It took all of his concentration just to keep them in check.

There is some debate on what occurred that day. Most tend to agree that the Legion's strength was waning, their unnatural forces were strained across the battlefield. The forward soldiers of the Demacian Guard had begun to fall back to the outer wall, and any of the Legion's forces were pin-cushioned by merciless swarms of arrows. The Shade's brutes still continued their rampage towards the wall, with only a single thought going through their simple minds:

BREACH.

The archers began focusing their fire onto the brutes in attempt to take them out, as there was no telling what would happen if they reached the wall. Slowly but surely, they thinned out the horde, but it would not be enough. A pack of three brutes reached the wall, and spread out along its perimeter. One by one, they disrupted into chaotic explosions which resonated for miles in each direction. A great cloud of smoke shrouded the scene, but the sound of the wall cracking rang clear. Its fortitude held for a little over a minute after the smoke cleared, and then the wall did as all things do.

It fell.

The Shade sealed away Gelid and Xerath before opening a black vortex behind him. There were not enough forces to continue the assault, but perhaps plenty to keep Demacia and the Order busy. Something much larger had been set in motion, and it was up to the Shade to make sure all pieces were where they were needed.

This would not be the end, but merely, the beginning of something much more severe.

Armageddon.

You should probably have a link to the contest from here and to here from the contest.

On a final note, why are there only 3 options to vote for? Why can't there be no winners because everyone important died?

Nice Keagn.. I would have entered. But the only problem was that my character won't really fit the theme of this one anyway. Congrats to everyone ^.^. Then again I could have made a new idea.... Oh well ;;

Great results! Congrats to the winners!

I'll say one thing about Venture Team's verdict though -- You never ever end up controlling multiple entities a la Starcraft or a real RTS. The player only ever controls one, with garrisoned units being always stationary and AI controlled. I did it that way to make sure things didn't get too crazy, as you mention. I'm not sure how clear I made that, but I thought I'd just say it again :P.

But great job judges and Keagn! A very interesting competition indeed.
