How come league doesn't have a champ with a reflective ability?

Project omen··5 votes·975 views

A champ with an ability that reflects skillshots back to the enemy. For example, Lux shoots her Q on him, he uses the ability and sends the bind back to her. The ability would, of course, be a skillshot as well. Edit: The ability would reflect skillshots with cc only.

OP much? lmao People are already complaining about Yasuo's Windwall which only BLOCKS the skill shot. Imagine it reflects... lmao

SulkingKING2 votes

How is it OP? In mirror matches, this is basically happening anyway.

Consider Ez ult, Draven ult, or MF ult. whoever has the reflecting ability, gets a free ultimate.

Then it should only reflect skillshots with cc. Edit: I know what you are thinking... Ashe . There would be a problem there, I guess.

And I am only strictly talking about ults..... Imagine those stuff come repelling back onto your team.

Which is why I said it should reflect cc back. Also, why not? I don't think it's that op. It provides counterplay and makes the opponents think before they unload everything they got to the enemy. Similar concept with Kindred 's ult, only with cc instead of damage. Edit: It could be made as a channel that lasts very little time, same time as Fiora's W.

FHMarshy1 votes

Ok, if this skill is the ult of the champion. He is rather useless, but if this is one of the skills that has less than 25 sec CD, its way too strong.

Skill shots with CC? Azir Braum Cassiopeia Gragas Fizz Sejuani ults

Project omen1 votes

I don't know if it should be the champ's ult, I just suggested the ability. And yes, of course it should be on a long cc. I still don't think it would be op if it reflected their ults.

FHMarshy1 votes

If the skill is the ultimate of the champion, then it basically is useless unless engaged on and against a lot of champions. Imagine a team : Darius RekSai Vladimir Ezreal Alistar . No one has a skill that is a skill shot with CC. Your skill is entirely useless here.

Lonely Flame2 votes

The more you narrow it down, the more useless it becomes.

Skills shots is way too powerful, skill shots with cc is way too small a group to be useful. And this is one of the main reasons it most likely hasn't been added to the game. It's way to hard to balence effectively. Not only that, from a coding it's also incredibly awkward. You need to take an object, reverse it's direction and effects and have it work against the enemy team. Just even imagine it from a game play perspective how frustrating it would be to ult as Cass, you your entire team gets stunned instead because the guy blocks your ult back.

Project omen1 votes

I guess you are right. It is hard to implement such an ability, let alone balance it. Still, it would be cool.

People complain about yasuo's windwall because it stays up for a ridiculous amount of time, blocks from both sides, makes yasuo even more durable than he should be, and blocks ALL projectiles not just 1 or a set amount.

Catastrop2 votes

Oh I can see this. Surround yourself with some sort of energy that absorbs the skillshot and then you fire it back as a skillshot as well.

Project omen1 votes

Right! Or the champ would lift a magic barrier that acts like a magic mirror that shoots the skill shot at the opposite direction. Or at the direction of the player's choosing.

Fiora's W is a reflective ability imo.

It just stuns people if she successfully blocks anything from an enemy champ, her W is not the same thing as a spell reflect.

Ýones1 votes

Well when I saw her W first, I tought it was a reflecting ability. But yea, I've done alot of concepts in the past and I've put a reflecting ability twice in my concepts, but idk cound that work out.

Yeah but it's technically a "parry", which means she blocks the attack and punishes (stuns or slows, in Fiora's case) the attacker. I'm talking about a magic barrier or something similar that reflects the skillshot back to a certain destination.

Hairzo1 votes

The ability would be anti fun. It would be punishing the player for using their abilities. You could say that fiora has the same sort of thing, by punishing players for using abilities, but it's only with CC, not like sending an ezreal ult back at him.

I'll make one up on the spot.

Lanister, The Mirror Knight

Passive -** Mirror, Mirror**: The Mirror Knight's armor and lance are made of magical mirrors that have special properties. Passively, The Mirror Knight takes 15%(30% at level 18) of all damage as a damage over time over 8 seconds. The damage dealt this way is stored into his lance and can be released through skills or basic attacking. Basic attacking releases 25% of his stored pool as bonus damage. Additionally, when Lanister does not have his lance with him, he will deal only his base damage (and item effect damages) when basic attacking.

Q - Bastion: Lanister throws his lance in a target direction dealing [x] + 50% bonus attack damage. The lance then plants itself into the ground where it lands and opens up to form a barrier, reflecting 15% of basic attack damage dealt to it, as well as absorbing skillshots and firing blasts of energy back to casters after a short delay. Lanister's lance can only reflect attacks in the direction it's mirrors are facing, and has it's own health bar based on Lanister's Max HP. If the lance is depleted of HP, Lanister will have to wait 10 seconds before he can conjure it back. The lance will taunt minions and small jungle monsters. Additionally, damage dealt by reflected skillshots will deal bonus damage from Mirror, Mirror. While placed down, Lanister will have a decreased basic attack range, but bonus movespeed. If Lanister moves 1500 range away from his Lance, he will automatically begin to conjure it back as if it were destroyed. To get the Lance back, Lanister must reactivate it in melee range and conjure for 2 seconds.

W- Deflection: Lanister enters a defensive stance, actively deflecting the next three attacks that would hurt him, and instead ignoring the damage and dealing it back in a short range towards the nearest enemy champion. (If there is no target nearby, he will simply do this effect in front of him) This effect lasts for 6 seconds, or until three attacks have been deflected.

E - Joust! : The Mirror Knight charges forwards at 1.5X his movespeed. This charge can be controlled by moving the mouse, and can be ended prematurely by reactivating the ability or running into a wall. The speed in which Lanister can turn in this charge is based on how LOW his movespeed is, increasing the speed he can turn the lower the movespeed. At the end of this charge, Lanister will put his forwards momentum into an attack and deal damage in a cone in front of him. If Lanister does not have his Lance, he can use this ability to run over top his lance and immediately pick it up. Lanister will release 75% of his Mirror, Mirror stored damage equally among all targets hit, in addition to [x] attack damage. Enemies hit also are knocked back a small distance. (If Lanister does not have his Lance, no damage will be dealt at the end of this effect.)

R - Mirrored Image: The Mirror Knight fools his opponents by disguising himself through the power of mirrors as another selected unit. This can include: Allied champions, Enemy champions, Minions, Jungle monsters, and wards. Lanister himself takes 100% of damage while his disguise is maintained as damage over 15 seconds. All damage taken in this state is stored into Lanister's Mirror, Mirror damage pool. Lanister's disguise is only as healthy as the unit he copies, and can be exposed if item 2043 item 3187 item 3364 or any other stealth revealing effect is used within range of him. (IE, you choose item 3340 as your target, you will be able to take three hits and be visible. If you choose a 5000 HP Volibear, you assume the Guise of Volibear and have 5000 HP even if Lanister has more than this number.) No matter the unit he disguises himself as, he can still always move, though will try to match the normal speed of minions and jungle monsters. Lanister's minimap icon will not be visible by his opponents while this effect lasts. This effect lasts up to 30 seconds at rank 1, and increases by 15 with each subsequent rank. If Lanister activates any other abilities while disguised, the disguise will be removed.

This fit your "Mirror" character?

I can see a support having this ability, or there ult that's on a 20 sec max CDR.

Instead of a reflection ability, what if you could store an ability that was used on you, then fire it back at a later time? Or even have a Megaman type effect where you gain an ability from a champion you killed for a brief period of time? The reflect-back mechanic just seems like it'd be too difficult to implement in a way that would be fair and fun. However, there are alternatives that would provide a similar effect to what you're looking for.

Project omen1 votes

I didn't say this ability should be implemented, I was just wondering why it doesn't exist yet. After reading people's thoughts in the comments I understood why. But still, it would be cool.

So, pretty much Fiora's W.

Fiora's W is a parry. Parry means block and counterattack (stun or slow, in Fiora's case). I'm talking about a magical barrier that reflects the skillshot to the destination of the player's choosing.
