Can we have a Good Job Ping??

MadamJay·5/17/2017, 12:22:17 PM·102 votes·2,549 views

Hey guys, To build more positive interaction in-game, it would be nice if we can get a good job ping or a thank you would be nice. I ask because sometimes I do want to say it, but I don't because I'm busy concentrating and don't want to type. I feel pinging is a easier way to communicate and it would be nice if you can ping someone when they doing a good job. It builds people up, and if people are using the ?? To flame why not create something more positive. What do you guys think?

PePsiLemoNN (EUW)- Mentioned a warded ping, I think that is a great idea. What do you guys think??

Yeah totally won't be spammed in teammates corpses. The pings are in the first place for koordination, not so much for social Communication.

Riot make a MIA ping, plz. Not a wtf team ping

Zelorxon5/17/2017, 12:44:01 PM11 votes

*pings aggressively to kill the 1/4 hp turret (with huge wave and expiring red buff to back that up)

*useless idiot bronzetard teammate walks back and forth without autoing the turret

*an enemy appears

*you get killed

*kayle ults the full hp garen

*adc that does a fuckton of damage gets engaged on because the tank randomly decided to step aside

*rift herald gets summoned by the jungler

*team thinks this is a good chance to go steal the jungle camps/recall while the jungler tries to kill turrets while the enemy isn't there

*jungler pings like a madman to cait to pop the blast cone behind baron

*order gets ignored

*enemy jungler uses the blast cone to jump in and smite-steals the baron

*gank a teammate

*enemy laner escapes with 1 hp because teammate didn't used one of his point and clicks

*go to gank a teammate

*since he's a bronze sack of garbage he ignores the existence of wave manipulations and also ignores your order to push the wave so you can either towerdive or force the wave to crash back . . . [GOOD JOB PINGING ON THE TEAMMATES INTENSIFIES]

''Warded'' ping would be useful too.

ItsOrval5/17/2017, 5:30:37 PM5 votes

Wow thats actually a good idea. I know i miss a few cs sometimes because I type "thanks" or "gj" to my jungler when he ganks. Thatd make it easier tbh. I can also see it being the new MIA ping tho for when someone dies they ping Good Job on them. Im fine with that though beens now I wont have to look at my map for where the mia is when its just someone pinging it on a person who died.

JaxMoonStealer5/18/2017, 2:19:45 AM5 votes

There's a ping in Smite which has your god say "You rock!" to your whole team. Oh boy, every time I get caught in the jungle and die or anything similar.

"You rock! You rock! You rock! Nice job! You rock! You rock! You rock! Woohoo!"

fail flash

Good Job Good Job Good Job Good Job Good Job Good Job

Yeah no thanks.

Laxfan525/18/2017, 12:27:55 PM3 votes

People would probably just use it for when team mates mess up

iahim985/17/2017, 6:49:01 PM3 votes

I like the idea, as people say is prob gonna be used like the ? ping, but if its still used in half the cases for an actual gj, then its doing its job properly. And would definitely help me, as I type most of the time with one hand (cause of the way I stay on my laptop), which causes me to miss cs or missclick more times then I like while I try to chat.

TEA Nietzsche 5/18/2017, 9:57:09 AM3 votes

I can't wait to play support and ping "GJ" on every minion my ADC misses.

FilDaFunk5/17/2017, 3:10:52 PM3 votes

If it has a nice sound when spammed, I'd quite like it.

TriKrakatoa5/19/2017, 1:44:20 PM2 votes

yea actually then you wouldn't have to type it and they would be more likely to see it, for example in teamfights most people can not type enter gj enter and get their hands back to qwer fast enough that they don't lose valuable time during the teamfight and might get hit or miss something, but pinging is super fast and easy and doesnt require you to change your hand positioning

UnboundHades5/17/2017, 12:27:17 PM2 votes

you know typing gj takes less than a second so there really isn't a reason not to if your teammate did well

PhoenixOfHeaven5/17/2017, 9:10:55 PM2 votes

No Way! Not only could it easily be the new MIA ping, being used sarcastically, but it means SO much more to say it yourself. Clicking a button to congratulate people seems wrong. A simple GJ is never hard to type.

Tormentula5/17/2017, 9:55:39 PM2 votes

This would remind me of smite's pings.

feeds their enemy midlane

Zeus: Ok! Zeus: Awesome! Zeus: Awesome! Zeus: Awesome! Zeus: Nice Job! Bakasura: I'm the greatest! Zeus: Cancel That! Amaterasu: Quiet Amaterasu: Please? Zeus: No! Bakasura: No!

the weeaboo5/17/2017, 10:53:29 PM2 votes

I know for a fact it'd just be toxic, and used as sarcastic for when someone fucks up.

source: play Dota 2 where they spam "Well played!" ping when you fuck up

Even if you use it correctly they will probably take it the wrong way and get butthurt like the MIA ping.

just typing "gj" is too hard?

Skorch5/18/2017, 12:33:42 AM2 votes

Another benefit as since this is just a social ping and not a gameplay ping, it would replace MIA being the toxic ping. Meaning MIA is legitimate again

dEAdbUs5/18/2017, 1:24:30 AM2 votes

It was discussed years ago. It will be used as sarcastic ping.

Skins Project5/18/2017, 1:43:33 AM2 votes

Somebody escapes with 5 hp, you missed the easy cleanup, you missed a jinx ult that would have executed, you land a bad bard ult, your a support and you die to save someone, you get towerdived and they get out healed.

No. Pings are supposed to get your attention.

So, stuff like: an enemy is missing an enemy is heading your way the enemy has vision around here the enemy you face is feed etc

If you want to tell someone they did a good job. You don't need a sound for it, if you REALLY want to do it sound wise, ask for their skype and have a voice/video chat. Otherwise, do the normal thing, and type: gj

MadamJay5/18/2017, 8:25:38 AM1 votes

I already am laughing at the idea someone saying "Good Job Ping" sarcastically. I honestly rather have that then a "?" Ping that tilts me is so rude, and it is also confusing when I wasn't aware of what was happening.

MadamJay5/18/2017, 7:00:41 AM1 votes

I do like the controversial feedback. I just thought of something, when I'm in a game and some people ping MIA, I get confused if I wasn't aware of what was going on in that moment.

Which means I rather they use a Good JOb PING Sarcastically then MIA.

Cocho5/18/2017, 6:34:30 AM1 votes

But what happens when people spam good job on a teammate when they make a bad play and die.

macromite5/18/2017, 1:49:47 PM1 votes

Can we also have a "You're a fucknut" ping because if these don't get implemented together then that's what we end up with.

theracody5/18/2017, 4:31:47 PM1 votes

The new minigame, when a teammate pings you and you're not sure if they're being sarcastic or not

LiteTheNiteSky5/18/2017, 9:21:20 PM1 votes

that would be awesome!

MadamJay5/18/2017, 11:29:55 PM1 votes

I just think that it's a game and new features is always going to be nice to have. Even if it's irrelevant it would be nice to be able to ping a Good Job or Warded.

Jebron5/18/2017, 5:22:34 AM1 votes

It will take you just as long to use the hotkey for pinging good job that it will for you to hit enter > type gj > enter again
