Ancient Coin rework
has been an issue for quite a few patches now. I believe the way this item is designed is the problem. The way I would design it is like a greedy start, kinda like a
start for mid laners: great snowball potiential but worthless if behind/get crushed in lane. Of course, in order to archieve this goal, we need to change how this item works:
5% cdr
2 gold per 10 seconds
New effect: Enemy minions killed by your allies sometimes drop coins that are worth 25 gold each (Nomad's Medallion transform that into 40 gold per coin). Champions slained close to you will give super Coins : coins with double the gold value. Coins will only give you gold once you recall back to the fountain EDIT: Or it could triggers on champion kills like Draven's passif. All coins collected are lost upon death.
*Basically, see this passif as some kind of Draven passif but instead of having to kill someone, you have to recall. This may sounds very easy to do but remember that recalling early for 2 coins will make you lose xp and it's probably not really worth it.
Coins that give mana
Quest: Gather 650 gold using this item and upgrade to Nomad's Medallion.
Reward: Allied champions close to you get 8% movement speed.
Basically, it's now a very greedy item to buy if you can manage to get lead, you will have the edge over your opponent. Get crushed and you have a worthless item in your item slot.
