Champion Concept: Edalthia, the Theurgist of the Occult

Role: AP Mage, Assassin

General Design Philosophy: Edalthia is a powerful nightmare in late game, whilst very weak during the early game. He is able to initiate team-fights all by himself, although once silenced, everything backfires. He is designed to dish out damage to tanky opponents, yet lacking the power to finish them off when all his abilities are on cooldown. He greatly relies on his passive, which imbues a "rule" in his next ability, his basic abilities are centered on creating contracts with his summoned deities, enchanting his attacks temporarily.

Overall, his kit is designed to introduce a new type of mage that relies on his enchanted basic attacks, whether each one applies a buff or debuff, players should aim to master his abilities.

Risk Analysis: Hard. Similar to Katarina, once silenced or afflicted by "Crowd-Controls", they can get easily countered. But over the course of time, just being able to be in the right side of the battle field causes him to be a great pain to his enemies.

Lore: I thought I could stop them, when the clock stopped, the dread triggered... I was useless, not even trying to be selfless. Now I am doomed to make a contract with this being, pulsing with all energies dark and corrupting. I should have not forsaken the final command of the Vancian Rules. It had exactly entailed that all things with a contract are bound with a great "Clock". Now doomed, I must try to fix this so called "clock," lest I get engulfed by this deity. I am Edalthia theurgist of the Vancian Occult, forever doomed to be the clockwork, forever doomed to be the servant. Only now you do not know what my purpose is, but for now... I will be in the silence.

Whether the deity summoned is a voidling or something of the unknown, Edalthia is still a powerful figure, only bound by the constraints of the broken "clock".

Strengths: Many combos and spells to design his next basic attacks and additional bonuses based on the weapon he is equipping.

Weaknesses: No escape, falls off when "crowd-controlled", and is reliant on his current weapon.

Rule: Edalthia follows 5 rules, and all of which are randomly enchanted to his every 3rd ability, but he can only have one rule in his basic abilities. It stacks up to 20 times and is reset when another rule is applied to the ability. Pinnacle of Balance: http://www.hiveworkshop.com/data/ratory-images/85/85893-0c12f8889aefb06233d9637a4853ff4f.jpg The chosen basic ability is enchanted with unrivaled destruction and creation, granting a 15% increase to your damage in every other basic attack, whilst granting a 0.5% health shield in each attack which stack up to 20 times (Resets after exiting combat.) Edalthia can host up to two contracts/pacts.


Q: Contract to the Undying Flame http://www.hiveworkshop.com/data/ratory-images/67/67054-e02970bba83b87b5f8ca81e54a2bce9e.jpg Edalthia channels for 2.5 seconds, summoning Rayshald, the Undying Flame. Rayshald has 75% of your HP and deals 10% of your AP as magic damage. For as long as Rayshald lives, your attacks become strengthened based on your equipped armament, triggering on-hit effect in your basic attacks. Grasp of Embers http://www.hiveworkshop.com/data/ratory-images/82/82098-80008239b07fe40e0e68207af323a205.jpg Edalthia gains range, also causing his attacks to burn his target, dealing an additional 3.5% of the enemy's hp as magic damage. Valstet hosts 110% of your HP and deals 20% of your AD as damage. For as long as Valstet lives, your attacks become strengthened based on your equipped weapon, triggering on-hit effects in your basic attacks. Astempheroid hosts 100% of your HP and is immune to basic attacks. Holy Bomb Divinity http://www.hiveworkshop.com/data/ratory-images/58/58110-983beed71a6eb207720ed48efd414525.jpg Edalthia gains range, also causing his attacks to deal 40% AP additional damage to your targeted enemy champion and to nearby enemy champions, every other attack. Divineshield Insight http://www.hiveworkshop.com/data/ratory-images/100/100770-fc417b896db9a55a1f58136fc86f3398.jpg Edalthia gains range, granting a 2% heal to yourself and to a nearby champion whenever you hit an enemy champion (Only happens every other 1.5 second.) R: Armaments of War Edalthia switches his weapon, either staff or sword, enhancing his attack. The contract/pact effects depend on the chosen weapon. Activates the "Grasp of Embers" and "Vile Enclosement" effects. Belladurn's Snake http://www.hiveworkshop.com/data/ratory-images/87/87096-57887b25409b9f06c61bfd67d5e7d8d8.jpg Edalthia's basic attacks reduce target champion's magic resistance by 10% up to 5 stacks, it also increases your attack speed by 12% every stack. Activates the "Grasp of Embers", "Toxic Rune", and "Divineshield Insight" effects. Activates the "White Rose Barrier" and the "Screaming Thorn Edge" effect. Twin Death causes your next basic attack to strike 4 times for 3 seconds. Activates the "Crystallizing Withstand" and the Ecstatic Lance" effects.

I didn't even finish reading through all the abilities and I can already tell this character is overloaded. This sounds like way too many abilities that go into factor with playing this character, and many players won't have the patience to learn him. Like even now, I don't want to finish reading the abilities because it's too much information. While it sounds cool that he has multiple weapons and it makes him look badass, it's just too much to focus on.

This...this is wayyyyyy too much. First, way too many abilities. You've probably have seen this already from the rest of the comments but they all are right: this guy has just way too much stuff at his disposal. Two: he's suppose to be a mage, to which most keep to a distance and cast spells, yet you have him be able to become melee? 3: randomness factor. As far as I can tell, League has always tried to get away from RNG (aside from the recent plant announcement, RNG dragons, and crit chance) and here is no acceptation.

Overall, and I'm sorry for being harsh, it's a mess and complete failure. The concept as a whole I don't think can be salvaged. However, I will say that due to the amount of abilities you put in here, maybe you can come back to this post and take out a few for future concepts that keep the abilities down to a minimum. But other than that, this concept just isn't that great.

5 random bonuses, his abilities all have 3 (or 6 for his ultimate!) forms. There's just way too much to keep in mind for both him and his enemy.
