Skarner Rework (Concept)

I've been reading up on how u guys hate how Riot treated Skarner , so I went brainstorming and heres what I've come up with (It's kinda vague bc I've never played the champ but here we go):

Passive: Every 20 seconds (Cooldown scales with level),Skarner gains a shield that empowers his basic attacks (Basic attacks reset shield by 1 second).

Q: On cast Skarner gets 25% Attack speed and his next 2 basic attacks deal damage based on enemy current % health. (deals more when enemy has more hp, but deals less when they have less.)

W: On cast Skarner gains 25% movespeed toward enemies

**E: ** On cast Skarner Throws his a crystal shard , slowing all enemies it passes through, If Skarner attacks this champion he will Strike with his stinger, applying a stun, dealing bonus damage. ( Basically his current E )

R: Skarner creates a crystal Spire, giving him bonus stacks (MS, AS, AD), but also empowers his abilities.

When Skarner is in the range of his Spire, his W will make his next attack attach him to an enemy, grounding and slowing that enemy for 3 seconds, and giving him access to new abilities.

Empowered Q : On cast will strike with his stinger, granting 25% attack speed, dealing % missing hp damage.

Empowered E : Skarner gets 3 charges, (This is basically his current Q, EXCEPT) if enemies are hit with 2 of these charges (including his current target) They are stunned for 2 seconds.


That's basically the whole idea I had, the cooldowns/ stats/ ability durations are left for your imagination(because hell if I know how to balance a champ), especially if you guys have an idea-- definitely leave a comment!

I have mixed feelings about your concept. Some abilities sound interesting, but some are… not so good.

  • Passive: It's like Rakan's Passive, but with empowered basic-attacks. It actually fits Skarner quite well.
  • Q: It's nice that Skarner gains attack speed and his 2 basic attacks deal bonus damage, but I think 1. the damage should be magical as Skarner's great strength is that he deals mixed damage and THAT'S very powerful, and 2. without something special about this ability (for example it creates shockwaves every x seconds for x seconds), it sounds boring.
  • W: This ability is by far the worst because it is completely bland and there's nothing going on here.
  • E: Basically his current E, that's great.
  • R: Changing his R is a bit critical as his current ultimate "Impale" is totally unique to Skarner, but I like the concept of the crystal spire and the empowered abilities.
