The problem with Kalista

No sappy intro about how Kalista is an original, amazing kit

The problem with this champion is her interaction with SLOWS.

If you get slowed as Kalista,(Especially hard slowed) You essentially get stunned, as you are stuck in a jumping animation, unable to use your basic attacks until your jump is over. This makes it so that if you ARE slowed, your best bet is to stand still and not kite at all (Which leads to your demise).

The only solution is to take Phase Rush, to make yourself (partially)immune to slows. Even so, the gameplay pattern of getting slowed(and then getting used to your new diminished attack speed) makes this Champion nearly impossible to play.

Aka Ashe will counter Kalista because her basic attacks will (LITERALLY) stun Kalista if she attempts to run/kite.

Rework Kalista's interaction with slows to instead modify her jump DISTANCE instead of her jump SPEED. If this rework is not satisfactory, then the only option left is to give the kit a complete overhaul.

Sadly It's clear Riot won't be touching Kalista in any real way to get her out of the ditch they left her corpse in(pun intended) till they fully rework her kit at its core. Essentially, if you like the champ now, you best enjoy the underpowered version we have now cuz it's all we're ever going to get. Unfortunate but that's how Riot rolls. Same thing happened to Yorick.

The actual real problem with kalista is that her designer is a well known r word that made a champion so fuckin broken she can never be allowed to see the day of light without ruining the game for everyone in plat+

Problem is that a carry with that kite cant be good and not op.

Slows are not the only problem with her though.

They honestly should make her jump animation speed scale with Attack Speed.

This is needed cause right now her jumping SLOWS her attack speed at higher numbers. Around 1.75 you attack FASTER without jumping cause the jump animation has to complete before you can fire again. Making the speed scale with attack speed I think solves both these issues as her movement is slowed but in proportion to her gains from attack speed.

it wasn't always like this i believe. on release kalista was barely effected by slows when she dashed but due to how broken release kalista was riot kneecapped her with a million hidden and obvious nerfs. her attack speed scaling with dashes and boot scaling and basically everything about her kit was nerfed to the barebones. her w was nerfed passive e q ult i don't think there was a single part of kalista's kit that escaped that ner%%%e.
