_The winds howled through the cherry blossoms. The petals fell from the trees in a flurry, like pink snow, in the moonlight, coating the forest floor with a soft, cooling carpet. In a rush, before they even truly had a chance to settle, the petals were knocked in every direction as the man tore through the night. His breath was ragged, and his travels were crippled by his injured leg. In another time, the man was a warrior. He was known for his loyalty to his lord. He was known for his pin point focus and drive to victory on the battle field, no matter the cost. He was known for sacrificing his men. The man bolted forward with renewed vigor as he saw the light of a shrine in the distance, aware that his salvation was close. In his frenzied fleeing, he did not watch his footing and slipped on the cherry blossoms he had so brazenly crushed underfoot. As the former warrior - the former task master - scrambled to his feet, shouting loud calls of fear and desire for help, his voice was silenced by a thick, metallic band wrapping around his throat. As a figure dropped from the trees and advanced, the man shut his eyes. He knew he could no longer run. "It was foolish to run. You may travel the ends of the earth, but there's no escaping Fate." _

#The Weaver [lore WIP] - need suggestions

#Assassin Support?

Zhī yè was designed to function as a skirmish assassin in solo lanes (most likely top.) His kit was created with the idea in mind that he should focus upon manuevering himself and others rather than trying to do tons of damage. The result was a tanky assassin who could, surprisingly, assist his teammates in lane or through ganking.

While he's able to be played in nearly every single role, Zhī yè clearly shines as a Top Lane assassin or Wandering Support.

Base Statistics

Health: 570.8 (+85 per level) **Attack damage:**47.17 (+3.375 per level) Attack speed: 0.625 (+1% per level) Ranged: 525 Armor: 25.72 (+4 per level) Magic Resist: 30.0 Move Speed: 350 Resource: Energy (max 100)

#Kit

##Basic Attack Zhī yè strikes the target with the tip of one of his scarf blades ##Critical Attack Zhī yè slashes the target with the edge of one of his scarf blades

##(P) Tethers of Fate "Everyone. Everything. All that is, was, and will be is tied together by invisible strands, guiding us through this existence. Even you and I are connected through Fate."

Zhī yè's basic attacks leave a scarf tethered between he and the target. These tethers remain as long as Zhī yè and his target do not break a 600 maximum range. If either the target or Zhī yè move out of range, the tether breaks and deals 10/20/30/40(+3% target max health) magic damage to the target. Zhī yè is healed for 50% of the damage done from the tether breaking and he gains back 10 energy. Enemy champions who have broken a tether recently can not be 2 seconds.

Zhī yè can have a maximum of 5 tethers out at a time. Actions that would tether a new enemy remove a tether from a currently tethered enemy, doing this passive's damage.

###**Notes: **this is the core of Zhī yè's kit. All of his abilities are centered around creating tethers and deciding whether he should keep or break a tether. It gives him potential sustain if he does not want to press the advantage, and (while not terribly damaging) it provides punishment for people who do not want to turn and face him.

##(Q) Flowing Silk "Light and beautiful, like a butterfly's gossymer wings, yet durable and wicked, like a dragon's Teeth." **Cost:**20 energy all levels Range: 700 units Cooldown: 16 / 14 / 12 / 10 / 8 seconds

Zhī yè tosses out the tip of one of his scarves. If it hits, it deals 75/110/145/175(+10% AD) magic damage and tethers the target, regardless of range. If Zhī yè does not enter max tether range within .75 seconds the tether snaps (dealing the damage from his passive). If the target is a tethered enemy, they take the damage and are stunned for 1.25 seconds, removing the tether but not dealing the additional damage from his passive.

###Notes: This is Zhī yè's main poking tool and exists as a decent damaging ability, but it also forms the core of Zhī yè's Support potential.

##(W) Dancing Scarves "Oh how they whirled, as if inside of a typhoon of pastels and perfumes. Beauty in motion." Cost: 30 energy all levels Range: Self /250 radius Cooldown: 24 / 22 / 20 / 18 / 16 seconds Duration: .75 seconds Zhī yè flings his scarves about in a beautiful dance, negating the next damaging ability and ignoring CC. If this ability negates, or survives its duration, Zhī yè deals 5/10/15/20/25+(25% AP) magic damage in an area around him and tethers the five closest enemies. If the damaging ability comes from a tethered enemy champion, they take the damage instead (resistances applied)

###Notes: While this is the only true tanking ability Zhī yè possesses, it will often times reward aggressive play. Being too aggressive, however, can leave you in sticky situations.

##(E) Silken Movements "The Feeling of the cool night wind through my hair was exhilerating. You really are correct... It's just like flying."

Cost: 15 energy all levels Range: 325 / equal to tether length Cooldown: 11 / 10 / 9 / 8 / 7

Zhī yè dashes to a target location. If he passes through an enemy, he deals 5/10/15/20/25+(5% AD) magic damage and tethers them. Zhī yè can instead target Tethered enemies in order to dash direction to them - in a fashion similar to Nidalee's Hunt-empowered Pounce - granting this ability more range. If this ability kills a unit, its cooldown is refreshed.

###Notes: And here it is, the mobility. This ability is handy for dodges and engages, as well as setting up a full team tether with Dancing Scarves. Because of its short range, it's not very handy for escapes, but who knows.

##(R) Redirecting Fate "Fate is an ocean. I am the wave that shall toss you about."

Cost: 0 energy (requires at least one tether) Target Range: 700 ft Effective range: Tether Length Cooldown: 150 / 130 / 110 Passive: lowers the immunity period for enemy champions from your passive to 1.66/1.33/1.00 second Zhī yè can only cast this ability if he has at least one enemy unit tethered. Zhī yè targets an enemy, causing all tethered enemies to rapidly shoot towards the target. Enemies who hit and who are hit take 100/200/300(+ 30% current HP) Magic damage, however they can not be pulled through terrain (and do not take damage upon colliding with it.) If the target is an allied champion, the ally does not take damage, but instead gains a shield equal to 50% of the damage enemies have taken from this ability.

###Notes: While this is a potentially powerful ability that can change the tides of battle, the requirement for at least one tether to cast it, and effectiveness based on targets tethered will cause some tricky plays.

#Gameplay Examples

Let's try to envision his kit in action.

##Hypothetical scenarion #1

Zhī yè's teammates have engaged all five enemy champions in the river near baron pit. Zhī yè was split pushing top lane, and the fight is not going well. Zhī yè doubles back and sets up his his combo

  • Zhī yè Fires his Q, Flowing Silk, tagging the center-most champion to the enemy group as he can.
  • Zhī yè activates his W, Dancing Scarves
  • Zhī yè Activates his E, Silken Moves, on his tethered champion.
  • As he dashes through the tethered champion, Dancing Scarves detonates, tethering all enemy champions present
  • Zhī yè finishes his combo by Ulting. His target? Baron. All five champions take damage and baron is now targeting them

This combo requires a lot of situational elements to it, but it can severely change the outcome of a fight. However, it puts him in the very center of the enemy team and requires him to use his only tanking ability offensively.

##Hypothetical Scenario #2

Zhī yè's team is fighting a 3v5 in mid lane. He is about to engage and Ezreal has just spawned in. He has is ult.

  • Zhī yè ganks from the enemy jungle, trying to tether as many as he can with his E, Silken Moves.
  • Zhī yè tethers any other champions with basic attacks while using his W, Dancing Scarves, to tank
  • Zhī yè Waits for Ezreal to ult.
  • Zhī yè Activates his ultimate to group the enemy team in the center of the lane, ensuring Ezreal hits.

This combo is a bit more likely, especially when playing with allies that have global ultimates.

##Hyppthetical Scenario #3

Zhī yè is pushing middle with Sion when they encounter mobile champions who are evading Sion's CC

  • Zhī yè dashes forward with his standard W/E combo in order to try to tether them, basic attacking anyone he can't tether with his AOE.
  • Zhī yè ults Sion, dragging the enemies into his AOE range while giving him a shield to sustain.

Less of a combo and more just common sense :P

This is an amazing idea, and all the abilities combine beautifully. There are two things to address though: 1) Please specify that he cannot have multiple tethers to the same champion. 2) 30% of the target's current health is really powerful. Especially as initiation. And given the fact that the damage may occur to an entire team, the damage is crazy high. Sure, it won't nuke them, and it certainly isn't likely to finish them, but it's a very large chunk of your current health. 20% (1/5) is generally better, even though that's strong too.

For a shield ability - His W is mighty short. Maybe it should instead have a increasing duration? Like 0.5/0.75/1/1.25/1.5

I understand that the main focus you had going was to tether with an AoE and thus use his passive (Alternatively his ult) but I think that to emphasize a support/tank style, the W would need a bigger window in which to take a shot for a team mate.

That aside, I love the idea of a scarf fighter.

This idea is amazing, especially because it gives him a lot of room to be versatile in playstyle. However, I actually have a thought of my own in that, in the late game 2 seconds is a lot of time for a key piece of his kit to reactivate. I'm talking about the passive proc. Maybe at level 10 it should be reduced to 1.5 seconds, and at 16 1 second? Or maybe you could put that on his ult as a passive, reducing the period of time that his passive has to wait before being procced on a target again. Also, just as a side note, my god rylais, albeit an ap item, would be devastating on this champion. maybe consider putting a light ap ratio on his w and e?
