-Champion Concept- Unique ADC: Gunpo, The Black Powder Hermit
Updated Upon reading some community feedback I felt looking at his skills once more and seeing what can be tweeked and improved. I'm open to suggestions with improving his effects as long as Gunpo's fundamental gameplay is maintained. Thank you for viewing, and commenting :) . I hope this champ will gather more attention, maybe even a riot staffer one day, for now GL&HF, fellow summoners.
"The world of peace is gone, and so is my peace of mind. For years I have kept my tools of destruction hidden away under lock and key... For the second time in my life I must go to battle, but for the first time in my life I will no longer bear just my of shield of ancient bark to keep evil at bay, for I shall now bear fire from my hands and put death in its place"
Gunpo is an Ionian marksmen who brings the fight to him using proper zoning and has great burst. Compared with other adc's he has unique crowd controlling abilities that makes him the opposite of any tenacious adc's in the game. Mastering the timing and skill positioning can be highly rewarding for anyone looking for a new challenge in marksmen gameplay.
Passive: Pursuit to Peace *Updated Gunpo gains 4/7/10/13% Attack Damage when attacking an enemy champion that lasts up to 1.5 seconds and can stack up to two times
Q: Black Powder Passive effect: Gunpo gains slight passive attack damage based on a percentage of his bonus damage Toggle: Gunpo gains increased armor penetration, every basic attack costs mana
W: Shield Toss *Updated
Gunpo tosses his great shield that sticks into the ground upon landing creating an impassable terrain that lasts 5 seconds
When the shield is released Gunpo is relieved of the extra weight and gains a burst of movement speed that rapidly decays over time
The shield is treated like any other terrain
Picking up this shield reduces this ability's cool down greatly
E: Fields Ablaze *Updated Gunpo sets fire to the ground in front of him dealing magic damage and slowing enemy units Fields Ablaze duration slightly increases the longer an enemy champion is in its area of effect
R: Mortars Gunpo crouches behind his shield and points his hand cannon upwards making it an artillery weapon Gunpo roots himself while the ability is active, gaining additional magic resist and armor While Mortars is activated Gunpo shoots long range ballistic shots that pushes an enemy unit back and deals damage(where they get pushed depends on enemy position relative to the splash, similar to Vel Koz's pop up.) Mortars will deactivate itself automatically if a shot hasn't been fired in 3 seconds, it may also be reactivated to stop the ability early and deroot Gunpo Pressing W while rooted will instantly deactivate the ability and the shield will remain in the area Mortars was activated Gunpo may hold up to 4 charges of Mortars
Gunpo is a very different style of marksmen who is prominent in the ability to zone enemies and take control of their positioning rather than rely on his own positioning to win a fight. In laning his zoning gives him control of an adc, but placing Gunpo's shield in a bad spot can destroy your ability to duel or even reposition yourself to safety. His shield has a high cool down unless picked up, mastering his shield toss is key to utilizing Gunpo's strengths, and without any mobility he relies heavily on his shield and Fields Ablaze to to escape enemies. Using Gun Powder allows very very strong auto attacks throughout the game and is his only raw source of damage, coming close towards Gunpo can be tricky because of this. If an enemy is caught out and slowed by Fields Ablaze Gunpo can close escape routes for his foe with his Shield Toss and lay on the damage with his Gun Powder. Since his main source of damage is a mana consuming toggle this greatly balances his early game forcing a player to be more conservative and decisive when trading as Gunpo. Gunpo has great zoning for escaping; utilizing when to set down your Fields Ablaze and Shield are important for a more apt escape maneuver. Gunpo's Mortars ability is the pinnacle of his strength and when he is most vulnerable. Knowing when and where to pop his Mortars is key to repositioning enemies in your favor, allowing you to ensure they stay in your zone of execution or keeping them away from you, teammates, or objectives. In team fights Gunpo's play style dramatically changes as his positioning matters far more than when he is laning. Landing your shield to displace enemies in fights becomes huge, allowing Gunpo to separate the front line from the carries - utilizing that armor penetration becomes incredibly important. While picking up the shield is cooldown efficient, it becomes difficult to do so when it means diving into the enemy team - knowing when and where to toss the shield is vital. Utilize Fields Ablaze in fights to peel off any divers who may come for you, the damage dealt and slow should be enough time for you to reposition or execute - it may also be a valuable crowd control ability for when you've split the enemy team by slowing and dealing damage to the ones close to you and your teammates. Mortars' ability to push enemies in fight makes it really easy to deal with team comps that involve close knit combat and scattering the enemy team may aid in the disruption of a heavy engage. Mortars isn't an execution ability but it still holds as a last hit damage spell if used accordingly. Mortars' defensive stats become valuable in team fights since Gunpo lack's mobility in his kit, the armor and resistance may be Gunpo's last shot at life if focused in a fight. Leaving your shield in place after a fight is effective in instances where you are being dived while showering your Mortars, place it to put a small wall between you and your pursuer.
