Demotion, matchmaking, and provisionals

Hi I'm EisenSonne, currently a bronze 4 player and recently a bronze 3 player. Sure my ranking isn't impressive, but I know my skill level is. I've played ranked for my friend on his plat 5 account and won several games for him. I don't want to create a new account because I'm a working man and let's face it leveling, getting champs, runes, and ranking takes up way too much time out of a day. I'm currently stuck in my rank because League of Legends is a team game/sport and w/o a working team it is gg and ff@20. I got my rank not due to lack of skills but bad team mates, even when doing well in lane and taking your prowess into help others it won't stop bad players from being bad and feeding. And even when you're more skilled than your foe it's easy to die because they are far far ahead due to feeding teammates. I don't know how many games I've lost to this, but it's stressful beyond stressful. League isn't exactly user friendly as it shouldn't be it, it's complex and it rewards players who master it while burning those who fool around. Or does it? I feel as though the League system does not thoroughly address bad players and "trolls". Let's look at how demotion works, sometimes you lose 4 games in a row while at 0 lp and you don't get demoted, in another case you lose lp from "X" to 0 and the next game you lose you're demoted. This isn't exactly fair and it's haphazardous with no reason behind it. At most establishing a counter for how many games it will take before you're demoted will at least mentally prepare a person for demotion rather than kicking them down. When it comes to matchmaking we all have has our share of trolls and teaming with shit tier trash players. The champ select is outdated and should be renewed. There should be a lobby rather than waiting, because how often do people press "play" and then don't press accept. And it's annoying for when people decline and you have to wait some more. How about a lobby similar to the one in team builder? This similar style of lobbying should be done for regular 5v5 games as well. Players join in, ready up and then proceed to the champ select when everyone is ready. Sure it'll take a bit more time than randomly joining players and committing to a game off the bat, but maybe the decision to commit should be decided in length. Often times I've played a ranked game and something much more important has come up out of the blue and takes precedent. Besides while in the lobby identifying trolls can become easier; players aren't fully committed to the game so they can leave the lobby with no consequence, and a "booting" system should also be in place, to vote to kick players out of the lobby. Ranking is a more serious form of play because it says how skilled you are and what you'd like to pursue as a gamer. I have higher expectations of my life than to become a pro player, but the idea that I can because I know my skill is good enough to were if I worked at it really really hard I could become a pro. And this is the mind set of other players as well. The MMR system is based on wins and loses but this is ridiculous. Not every win is due to a high level of skill but just being carried. I'm judge on how the team as a whole does rather than my own status in-game. It's solo-que and I'm judged with other players. MMR should be based on gold earned and how long dead- basically your average kda and cs per game. I'm a good adc and when I go, i.e. 14/3 as Lucian in most of my games as him is it a just pairing to put me with a person (jng/sup) who deliberately tower dives at level 4 and ruins my laning phase and doesn't know how to build? I was given a bad hand during my provisionals and I have to deal with it for the entire season. I'm sure this has happened with many others, Provisionals should have a one time redo. An opportunity to refresh your MMR and retry to truly see if you belong to that group. This was long, but thanks for reading.

well, to start off with, if ranked was based off gold earned instead of winning, no one would want to play support in ranked ever. they make the least amount of gold, unless they get really fed and even then, they could make more gold in another role. that, and your rank in solo Q is based off many games so if you win most of your games, you will tend to go up in rank.

as you are bronze 3, that is where your skill level is about, unless proven otherwise. saying it's because of teammates is a really bad and often bronze excuse. I've played at bronze 3 and I was mostly playing around and afterwards, 5 champs were following me wasting time trying to kill me because I ran into their base and out again, it's really easy and you could also do it if your skill was plat or so (saying plat since you said how you played on your friend's plat account.)

even if you win games on your friends plat account (I actually really doubt), I'm fairly sure you either didn't start from the start of the match or you got carried.

as for how many matches to get demoted, it depends on your mmr and that can vary depending on who you play vs and that can't be decided until enough people are in Q to join and start a match.

if your skill level is silver, you will get there with enough games.
