Champion Concept Update: Sir Oswald, the Humble Knight 2.0

Hello once again my fellow summoners! I am back! now that spring is here I believe that it is time for another update on Sir Oswald, Check out the link above to see the last post :) I have listened to the feedback and I believe that I have found some great way to improve Sir Oswald's kit even further! Hope you guys enjoy! This will probably be the last update of Sir Oswald unless you guys want more. This will probably be the version of Sir Oswald I post to the next CCOS post, thats why I have decided to add some numbers to the abilities, I know that Riot would change them if they ever decided to make Sir Oswald but if the CCOS wants numbers I'll give it to them ;). I've also added a summary of his kit near the bottom for anyone who doesn't want to read all of this (I know it's a lot so I don't blame you :p) Again, any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Lets jump into it!

Concept: Sir Oswald is my take on a funny, kind of quirky stance based champion that I have been developing for a while. He is a more lighthearted take on a champion that I believe that League of Legends could benefit from, his funny kit and average lore would make him fun to play especially if you destroy you're other laner :) I love Udyr so I think its time for another stance champ!

Role: Primarily a top lane bruiser/ Tank depending on your build and skill order, could possibly be a jungler.

Lore: Sir Oswald is by far no hero. He is but a humble knight of Demacia and is willing to risk his life and join his glorious leaders into battle. Sir Oswald is not as strong as his beloved commanderGaren or as valiant as his dear princeJarvanIV in fact he is rather average, he doesn't posses any abilities like his respected commanders so rather than trying to learn or obtain some sort of skill he turned to the power of weapons. He trained himself hard, honing his martial training with all of his select weaponry until the day came when his commanders were called upon to join the fight in the Rift. He grabbed his weapons from the armory, walked home, kissed his wife and children goodbye, and followed in the footsteps of his great commanders.

Personality: Sir Oswald is courageous in his own way. He is willing to follow his commander into battle but that doesn't mean he is not fearless. Sir Oswald is always a bit shaky in his voice and seems to be jittery when he approaches the enemy.

Special Interactions:

Sir Oswald Joke:

"Me? Weak? I'll have you know, I am the man of my house and I have my wife's permission to say so."

Sir Oswald taunt:

"I'll show you what Demacian training can do... yeah."

(Jarvan IVJarvanIV and Sir Oswald)

Sir Oswald: "My glorious prince, your very presence eases my nerves. Let us bring the might of Demacia upon our enemies togethor!" Jarvan IV : "That we shall Sir... whats your name again?"

(GarenGaren and Sir Oswald)

Sir Oswald: "It is good to fight along side you my commander. Come, lets show them the power of Demacian Justice!" Garen : "Yes we will serve them justice together Sir... uhh friend..."

(LuxLux and Sir Oswald)

Sir Oswald: "My lady, I had no idea you would fight alongside us as well. Let us show them the light of Demacia."

(QuinnQuinn and Sir Oswald)

Sir Oswald: "My... that is quite the magnificent creature you have my lady... tell me, does it feast only on Noxian's or D...Demacian's as well?"

(Xin ZhaoXinZhao and Sir Oswald)

Sir Oswald: "That is some fine spear play my friend, I wish you could have taught me before this fight."

(OlafOlaf and Sir Oswald)

Sir Oswald: "My... you are ripped my friend. I am glad you are not on the other side."

(AnnieAnnie and Sir Oswald)

Sir Oswald: "Child, what are you doing here, it is not Safe!"

Sir Oswald 2: "Where are your parents? I would like to see you safe before this fight begins."

Sir Oswald 3: "Would you like to go home with me? I'm sure my dear Liliana would love to have another baby girl."

Abilities:

Passive: Fatigue- Sir Oswald has a hard time keeping up with these strong heroes, as Sir Oswald auto attacks his Fatigue meter begins to fill up, his damage slowly decreases per swing, but he also begins to sweat.

Fatigue bar from 0-200

Sweat- Sir Oswald becomes SLIPPERY (are you proud Phreak) making him hard to grab thus increasing his tenacity, the higher the meter of Fatigue the larger the tenacity bonus.

Tenacity: 0-60% according to Fatigue bar

Once Fatigues meter fills up completely Sir Oswald pulls out a Demacian Made Ration and consumes it, he feels rejuvenated and gains Adrenaline

Adrenaline- Sir Oswald's next auto attack is empowered and deals % health damage and gives a small movement speed buff.

Damage: 3%-12% of enemies missing health, scales as he levels up

Movement Speed: 15-60 bonus movement speed, scales per level

Minor Passive: Whenever Sir Oswald switches weapons it costs Fatigue, Fatigue bar will drop slowly if Sir Oswald does not switch weapons or autoattack. Autoattacks cost 5 fatigue. Filling the Fatigue bar past 200 with a weapon swap will set it to 0 even if it goes over. Ex: Fatigue at 190, you switch stance, would add to 210 but instead goes to 0.

Q: Mace and Shield- Sir Oswald pulls out his a small shield and mace

Fatigue Cost: (15, 20, 25, 30, 30)

Q passive: Mace and Shield gives Sir Oswald flat armor and a bonus % of armor, the armor is based upon Sir Oswalds Fatigue meter, The more fatigue Sir Oswald has, the less bonus armorMace and Shield gives him.

Armor by rank: (5,10,15,20,25) + 20, 30, 40, 50, 60% bonus to total armor

Q active: Shield Bash- Recasting Mace and Shield makes Sir Oswald preform a Shield bash, knocking away enemies in a small cone in front of him, if the target is directly in front of Shield bash they receive a small stun. (Think of a very small Camille W where the inner part is stun range and the outer part only knocks people away) Successfully stunning a target give an adrenaline proc. If Sir Oswald successfully stuns a target with Shield Bash he can recast Mace and Shield again to preform Hard Swing

Damage: (25, 50, 75, 100, 125 Magic damage) + 0.4 AP Scaling

Fatigue Cost: (10, 15, 20, 25, 25)

Q active 2: Hard Swing- If the target was successfully stunned by Shield bash the target leaves an opening, Sir Oswald swings his mace down hard upon the target dealing extra damage and will apply the adrenaline proc.

Damage: (45, 70, 105, 140, 175 Physical damage) + 1.2 AD Scaling

Fatigue Cost: (5, 10, 15, 20, 20)

W: Pike- Sir Oswald pulls out his Pike

Fatigue Cost: (15, 20, 25, 30, 30)

W passive: Pike gives Sir Oswald farther range and damage but lessens his attack speed. As the Fatigue meter increases Sir Oswald gains more damage but less range on his autos.

Bonus Damage: 15-40, 25-50, 35-60, 45-70, 55-80 based upon Fatigue bar, (Keep in mind, Fatigue will counter alot of the AD given, after all fatigue lowers the damage of auto attacks done by Sir Oswald.)

Range: 175-125 based upon Fatigue bar

W active: Pikeman's Advance - Recasting Pike will cast Pikeman's Advance, Sir Oswald charges at a target slowly (for he is not as fast or agile as a hero) if Sir Oswald hits an enemy champion He immediately gains an Adrenaline proc and his next weapon swap will not cost any fatigue, When Sir Oswald hits an enemy champion he will keep charging for the rest of the range of Pikeman's Advance If the target rams into a wall they are stunned. Recasting Pike again if the enemy hits the wall after Pikeman's Advance Sir Oswald will preform Skilled Pikeman.

Damage: (60, 75, 90, 105, 120 Physical Damage) + 0.6 AD scaling

Fatigue cost: (10, 15, 20, 25, 25)

active 2: Skilled Pikeman- Sir Oswald nimbly swing his target in a 180 degree circle behind him.

Fatigue cost: (5, 10, 15, 20, 20)

E: Crossbow- Sir Oswald pulls out his Crossbow to deal damage from afar, unfortunately Sir Oswald can only carry a limited amount of bolts (the amount of bolts increase per point put into Crossbow) Sir Oswald replenishes bolts if he returns to the fountain, enemies killed by bolts will drop onto the ground, Sir Oswald can pick up these bolts, they disappear after a short period of time or if an enemy champion steps upon them.

Bolts: 5, 10, 15, 20, 25

Fatigue Cost: (15, 20, 25, 30, 30)

E passive: Crossbow gives Sir Oswald bonus AD, Crossbow also has a set drawback time to fire bolts (he needs time to cock the string and load the bolt). The time it takes to load the crossbow is based upon Sir Oswalds fatigue meter, the higher the fatigue meter the longer it takes to load a bolt.

Bonus AD: (15, 30, 45, 60, 75)

E active: Flaming bolt- Recasting Crossbow will cast Flaming bolt- Sir Oswald ignites one of his bolts dealing damage overtime.

Fatigue Cost: (10, 15, 20, 25, 25)

Damage: (55, 80, 105, 130, 155 Magic Damage over time) + 0.8 AP Scaling

E Flaming bolt passive: If the target is below 50% health Flaming bolt will break armor (think of Sion's E). If target is below 15% health Flaming bolt will also crit. If an enemy champion is killed with Crossbow or Flaming bolt Sir Oswald gains an adrenaline proc.

R: Foot Soldiers Rage- Sir Oswald thinks about his family and the emotions of protecting them floods into his mind, he sees the enemy and gains a rage so large he lets out a scream (Please make it audible across the map similar to Sion's ult :) it would be really cool and funny).

Foot Soldiers Rage- Freezes Sir Oswald's Sweat meter (meaning that the bonus tenacity will stay active with Foot Soldiers Rage's duration but the Fatigue meter will change). Sir Oswald's Fatigue meter resets to 0 and will not increase during Foot Soldiers Rage, While Fatigue builds up it does not effect his abilities and becomes blind to the summoner. Every 3rd auto-attack while Foot Soldiers Rage is active will deal an Adrenaline proc on the enemy, Sir Oswald also gains increased attack speed.

Bonus of Foot Soldiers Rage: Shield Bash, Pikemans Charge, and Flaming Bolt become stronger

Shield Bash: Range of cone becomes larger and the entire cone stuns enemies

Pike: will also deal max bonus damage

Pikemans Advance: Speed and damage of Pikemans Charge increases to match that of a hero, simply hitting a hero with Pikemans Charge will stun them.

Flaming bolt: Sir Oswald shoots 3 flaming bolts with no reload time meaning they fire all at once.

Foot soldiers Rage End: After Foot Soldiers Rage ends all the fatigue used during the duration of Foot Soldiers Rage will rush back into Sir Oswald, if the Fatigue surpassed 100% of the Fatigue meter then Sir Oswald Passes out from exhaustion and Power Nap is initiated.

Power Nap: Regardless of Tenacity Sir Oswald will lie on the ground until his Fatigue meter reaches 0 once again (even if the meter was at 1000%) As the Fatigue meter is going down during, Power Nap increases Sir Oswald's health regen substantially. Damage afflicted by enemies will quicken the speed at which the Fatigue meter drops during Power Nap

Changes from previous post:

New passives on Q,W,E adding a depth to his kit that will define the difference between a good Sir Oswald player and a bad one. It will also give the opposing laner some counter-play if they now what they are doing.

Removed the Cleave effect from his R, thought it was too much, just build either Titanic Hydra or Ravenous Hydra depending on your build. (Me personally, I prefer Titanic Hydra :))

Removed the idea of having his next auto of a switched weapon dealing magic damage, with the amount of times you can proc his Adrenaline damage it's not needed and overloads his kit quite a bit.

Gameplay:

The key difference between a good Sir Oswald player and a bad one will definitely come down to Fatigue control. Making sure you switch weapons appropriately so you can proc Adrenaline will be crucial. If you change too early you may suffer with a high fatigue bar which means less damage and range.

Mace and Shield will be your main source of defense and CC, making sure you start trades with a low Fatigue bar will be vital to mitigate the most amount of damage.

Pike will be your most consistent source of damage, the bonus AD will counter your Fatigue bar making CS'ing a little easier, the decrease in range however will make you much more easy to kite. This will be your primary source to set up ganks with Skilled Pikeman.

Crossbow will be your safest option, you have a ranged tool but it is very limited, especially at lower levels. Making sure you use crossbow while your fatigue is low will be vital, if you switch while your fatigue is almost maxed the chance of you loading and taking a shot will be very low, your reload speed would just be too long, you need to either start a trade with crossbow or finish one after your engage with Pikemans Advance and CC with Shield Bash.

Laning Phase: Sir Oswald's laning phase would be very hard compared to other champs, his Fatigue passive decreases the amount of damage he does making CSing harder to do and trading would be a pain. As he begins to level though he can effectively make use of his recast stances to either engage or kite an enemy champion. His Pikemans Advance, if landed, will be his main source of trading as it gives him an Adrenaline proc and a way to set up the enemy to be ganked by your jungler, it also gives his next weapon swap for free meaning that his fatigue bar will be smaller which means MORE DAMAGE. As you play Sir Oswald you would want to utilizes the recast abilities to finish your Fatigue meter to give you Adrenaline procs making full use of his auto attack damage.

Team Fights: The combo that I see Sir Oswald pulling off would be really fun in my opinion. The perfect way to set up your combo would be to fill your Fatigue meter up to almost full in order to get the most out of your Sweat buff, you would then use Foot Soldiers Rage to freeze your Sweat buff (Which gives you tenacity) and begin your carnage. You would be a fighter with high tenacity and your auto attacks will be doing much more damage because your fatigue bar will stay at 0, you would probably engage with Pikemans Advance, then follow up with an Adrenaline Proc then recast to preform Skilled Pikeman, then switch to Mace and Shield (by now the enemy team will be focusing you, Mace and Shield will mitigate some damage dealt to you because of its passive) Then you would proceed to Shield Bash them and hope to stun as many as you can. As your team follows your sweet engage you could use any weapon you like, as the fight would be nearing it's end you would switch to Crossbow and fire Flaming Bolts at targets running away. Just remember, after you finish the teamfight most likely, if you used everything, you will enter Power Nap, making you immobile but regenerating your health. If the teamfight was still going on while you entered Power Nap hopefully your team will protect you and your regen will save you from dying, and if the enemy does begin to focus you remember that Power Naps Fatigue meter goes down much faster if damage is being dealt to you.

Counter-play: Engaging on Sir Oswald while his Fatigue is high will be the best way to kill him, right when he's around 130 would be perfect, he doesn't have enough to get to his adrenaline proc, his reload speed with crossbow will be a lot slower, his range will be lower with pike, his armor will be less with Mace and Shield. Items will also help, he is a primarily auto attacking champion, building a thornmail or Frozen Heart will be very effective against Sir Oswald.

Summary:

A Stance based champion that is very funny and quirky, combines his passive to combo with his different stances.

Q: A Mace and Shield: Mitigates damage, offers CC, making sure to monitor you're passive will make you more tanky

W: A Pike: very consistent damage, offers a way to engage and set up ganks.

E: A Crossbow: Gives him a ranged tool with a limited amount of ammunition, deals a lot damage but if you don't time your passive it will make it almost useless.

R: Foot Soldier's Rage: Enhances all of his abilities and auto attacks, is a very all in ultimate, if the all in doesn't work you CC yourself and have to hope your team can clean up your all in.

Thank you guys again if you read all of the material. As I stated in the second post (link up above) I would really like to see a stance based champion that would be fun to play both thematically and kit wise. Almost all of the new champions recently have either been way too serious such as EvelynEvelynn or someone like KaynKayn or they have been all powerful gods such as ZoeZoe or Aurelion SolAurelionSol

I think its time for a light, quirky champion that would still be fun to play. I would love some feed back on what you guys think.

Thank you if you read it all the way, I wrote way more this time. Cheers everyone!
