Item Concept: Torch of the Blood God

Hello! So this is just a quick idea that I've had and I thought it would be pretty neat to see an effect like this in game. So I quickly implemented it onto an item, that would look just like this:

Torch of the Blood God

  • 70 Ability Power
  • 10% Cooldown Reduction
  • 300 Health _UNIQUE Passive: Blood Link _- Grants 2 points of Ability Power per 5% of your missing health (up to 40 bonus Ability Power). _UNIQUE Active: Blood Tap _- Sacrifice 10% of your maximum health to increase the damage of your next basic ability by 15%. This effect can be reactivated up to 3 times within a 3 second window before the cooldown triggers (60 seconds cooldown).

Recipe:

item 3067 + item 1058

Kindlegem (800 Gold) + Needlessly Large Rod (1250 Gold) + Combine Cost (550 Gold) = 2600 Gold

_This item is 98% Cost efficient and can reach up to 130% Cost efficiency at maximum bonus of Blood Link _(this, however, negates the Health bonus, so it would still hang around 100%).

Usage:

I believe that this item would find its uses in a high-burst champions that can do that damage from a relatively safe distance. Because the damage bonus of Blood Tap only applies to basic abilities, it does not work on ultimates such as Karthus Requiem (which would obviously be broken). However, when looking at Karthus, the item might be useful because it allows him to be even more powerful when in his ghost form (as he has maximum AP bonus from the Blood Link).

The second instance would be Vladimir , because he can quite easily heal the damage dealt by Blood Tap. Note that the effect of Blood Tap only increases damage though, not healing, so it wouldn't really work on support champions like Soraka .

Conclusion:

This item is intended to be a high-risk and high-reward item, that can possibly be difficult to use, because it can often backfire against you. However, I believe that the damage amount that this item offers can be attractive enough to take the risk of dealing a considerable amount of damage to yourself.

Please let me know what you think about the item in the comments below and also leave your suggestions about how this could be improved!

yeah make annies first ability hit you for 45% more damage, that's healthy. It's basically a poor mans DFG since its not a burst + debuff.
