A mage that can steal armor

What if there was a new mage that can steal an enemies armor to gain more damage. The armor could be repaired again at Ornn 's new custom anvil near the shop, for a small fee. Or if Ornn is there himself he could passively repair the armor by just hanging back with an ally that needs repairs and chill for a few seconds. A good new passive. And a good counter for this mage.

Any Thoughts?

I have many questions concerning this idea.

  1. Why would a mage steal armor? Wouldn't it be more effective to steal MR?
  2. This idea does not have healthy counterplay. If anything, the "stolen" armor should be a temporary debuff similar to Trundle's Ultimate instead of the indefinite one you suggest.

having a champions counter be directly linked to 1 other champion is just bad design
