I suppose Karma is a bitch and I end up delaying this by one day because I complained so much last time. But let's do this!

First, let's announce our judges:

THE RlVER KlNG. Give yourself a free point every time I say 'Overall' or 'thematic'. Raxistaicho. The current champion who will soon be dethroned. Foodtank. A relative newcomer to the judging business but has shown some real dedication to the craft!

With the formalities completed, the winner of the Christmas-New Year CCOS is......

Izol, the Fist of the Magnetar, by Bobo113, with a score of 269 / 330! Congratulations; it seemed us judges were attracted to your concept. (cue laugh track)

In second place, Balton, the Keeper of the Eyes by Billcurme, with a score of 262 / 330! Definitely not a waste of flesh......

In third place, Leopold, Inexorable Savant by Metal Gear Roses, with a score of 240 / 330! Be sure to link your Good Neighbor reviews next time.

In fourth place, The Tul, the People of the PIllars by God of Chicken, with a score of 239 / 330! All hail the Glory!

In fifth place, we have a tie! Kourok, the Marsh Warden by iKraytosKlayton (Sigil is very jealous right now); and Novenna, the Securitor by Skylarke, with scores of 237 / 330! Congratulations to our winners!

If you wish to view your overall score, see here. My scoresheet is here. Raxistaicho's scoresheet is here. Foodtank's scoresheet is here. We'll be here to answer your questions, or in the very least I will. Feel free to comment your thoughts below!

Echoing will have our February CCOS up ASAP with a very clear notice that you need to link your Good Neighbor reviews to have them count. If you're interested in judging, hit him up at "[email protected]", since we can always use more viewpoints here.

Remember not to take it personally if you got a low score! I don't have anything out against you, and I'm sure our other judges don't either (I think). We're trying to help you improve, and we're hoping you come back next month even better.

I hope to see you again next month!

Thanks for the post THE RlVER KlNG. Additionally, thank you to all the judges who took the time to overlook Osiris, your feedback is appreciated. I will keep in mind the issues you had and do my best on my next champion concept to work on those issues, as well as continue to bring the same level of strength on the parts you liked. Look forward to seeing you all again next month.

I'm not going to post in that huge comment chain, so...

Can we PLEASE stop harassing each other over alts, alleged or otherwise? Please? It doesn't make a hill of beans worth of difference and it's not worth getting in a huge fight and pissing off everyone. Let's just accept that some concepts get upvoted more than others and that upvotes aren't necessarily indicative of quality and resolve to do better.

Yes, I know Skylarke gets a bunch of upvotes, but there have been other concepts with tons of upvotes - notably, there was one with an Elsa picture that vastly outstripped Skylarke's upvote count, but only stole fifth place due to a terrible judge who called everyone son, son. Having a bunch of upvotes really doesn't put you any closer to victory, since the best feedback comes from people in the contest already, who don't need upvotes to find your concept.

The only issue I have is that I'm (again) being accused of having alts. Which I don't.

Otherwise, I think this was a great CCOS. Novenna probably needed more fixing than I initially realised.

Now idea how long I have been waiting for this. Literally like forever xD. Still I have to be thankful for all the feedback that was given to Drifter. Learned a few things about what people are expecting for lore, even though I tried something and it didn't exactly work too well. Ether way I always like being apart of the CCOS. Hopefully my next entry could do a bit more, or perhaps I will judge. Depends on how my next batch of concepts come along. Pretty good amount of entries for this time, it was a pleasure to read the ones I did. So thanks for hosting this time around THE RlVER KING.

I've never won one of these yet, probably because I haven't entered all that many and I definitely need more experience, but I love this contest. And it gives some fantastic feedback, even if some of it I disagree with.

Wow. okay thats a point of view i havent considered. thanks for the advice guys! im going to try and change delyora to a single kit champion with the w passive his main passive and work from there. if you have any ideas, please tell me! im thinking about having each ability be a different weapon, fixes him more securly in the blacksmith niche that ive been so desperately trying to convey. also, if i change him that much, will i be able to enter him in the next ccos considering he is practically a different champion all around? It might be a bit difficult, all of you judges had VERY different views on each part of Delyora. quite a predicament i suppose

Wow. I never expected to get above top 10. Kinda overwhelming. Well, time to buckle down and polish the champ further!

Cheers, can't wait for the next contest,

Ah, fifth place. I'm quite happy.

I don't like writing lores.

Alright so first off, I want to state a few things and I'm gonna list 'em.

  1. I fully accept every score I got. Thanks to all the judges (Raxi, King, and now Foodtank) for giving me such good feedback and scoring me appropriately. I enjoy receiving good feedback almost as much as I love giving it.

  2. I may or may not have given feedback on other CCOS champs (I honestly can't remember at this point). I never included links for any that I may have done because I wanted to focus all of my efforts on working on something other than Hush.

Uhh...that's kinda it for deep thoughtful statements I guess. Good job to everyone who placed high on the CCOS; congrats especially to the top 5. I hope to see everyone for next month's contest; I'll be back and working on things then, so maybe I'll actually place this time hehe...

Well, I still made it into the top ten, despite it seeming like none of the judges terribly liked my champion. It sure was a fun process though, for a lot of separate reasons. I've already got something made up for next month, which I feel has a concrete pair of gameplay patterns.

Congratulations to everyone else, though.

This was a nice contest. Heck, all months have been great and I've learned a lot since I joined the CCOS the first time. If this contest didn't exist, I wouldn't probably be doing any concepts right now. Thanks Echoing and River King for keeping the contest alive.

Wow - I honestly didn't think I would ever land 1st place with one of my champions! This was a huge surprise!

I apologize for coming back to this a little later than I would have liked, but alas. I can't thank THE RLVER KLNG, Raxistaicho or Foodtank enough for this opportunity - it is a lot of work to pool through these creations. I hope I can be a part of the next CCOS - these have all been a lot of fun!

Congratulations to everyone that participated this month, I hope to see you again in the next one!

On another note, could we have a Legacy CCOS sometime? For champions that were once already submitted into a CCOS at one point and have been improved upon since their first entry? It would be neat to see how far some people have come with their concepts since then. Could have it happen during the same month as a normal CCOS so that new people interested in submitting concepts would still be able to participate in the normal CCOS that month.

Just a stray thought ;P
