I bet people remember certain older champions talk to us and call us "Summoners" like Ahri and Katarina and ect. I wonder why they took it out. They made it pretty clear in the launch trailer, we are a bunch of hooded creatures in cloaks surrounding a globe.

They did, but then they retconned it. Summoners dont exist anymore and in fact Summoners Rift isnt in the world and the characters dont actually go there, its just for the game now. Its really dumb in my opinion, they had an interesting thing going and they turned it into generic fantasy (which theyre now turning into grimdark)

The League of Legends (or the Institute of War in general) really doesn't exist anymore. Summoner's Rift, as far as I know, is still an actual location...but its actual meaning isn't the same. (I believe its actual location is somewhere between Demacia and Noxus? This needs confirmed by Riot, tbh. >.>) I know for a fact though the other two maps have physical locations: The Howling Abyss is in the Freljord, and the Twisted Treeline is somewhere around in the Shadow Isles
