Morina, Death's Chill

Presumably from Freljord or The Shadow Isles? Probably Freljord, as otherwise she would be like... Thresh's lover in fan fiction, and we don't want that ("we" as in "I"). There are definitely slight similarities between other champions in this concept, as I mention below, but I am also not entirely making these as just League concepts anymore. Main goal is just a fairly unique and fun to play concept.

Passive: Rotating Guillotine Morina alternates between her 3 chains with her basic attack. 1st chain: No effect. 2nd chain: +50 Range. 3rd chain: +100 Range.

Cold Steel: Morina gains 1-5% (+5% Ability Power) increased Bonus Attack Damage, and gains 1-5% (+8% Bonus Attack Damage) healing from abilities.


Q: Ripping Whip | CD 10/9.5/9/8.5/8 | Cost 32/34/36/38/40 | Range 600 | Tether Range 900 Morina throws out one of her chains, stopping at the first unit hit and sticking to them dealing 50/80/110/140/170 (+80% Bonus Attack Damage) Physical Damage. If the unit does not move out of the tether range in 3 seconds then they are pulled 300 units towards Morina and take 4/5/6/7/8% (+2% Bonus Attack Damage) of their Missing Health as additional Physical Damage. Morina may recast this up to 2 times within 2.5 seconds of the initial cast, with 0.5 seconds between casts. Additional chains on the same target increase the pull by 50 units but deal 75% reduced damage on both instances. Morina cannot basic attack while all 3 chains are used, but applies a 10% slow to all units affected and grounds them. If Morina doesn't launch all chains or misses landing a chain then Ripping Whip goes on cooldown but keeps its unused charges. Holds up to 3 charges.


W: Frozen Whispers | CD 22/21/20/19/18 | Cost 80/85/90/95/100 | Range 1,100 | Width 200 | Projectile Speed 550 Morina lets out a breath of freezing air, causing all units passed through to take 50/75/100/125/150 (+30% Ability Power) Magic Damage, be frozen for 2/2.25/2.5/2.75/3 seconds, and take 75/110/145/180/215 (+35% Bonus Attack Damage, +40% Ability Power) True Damage if they are are hit while frozen which will instantly unfreeze them.


E: Shifting Ice | CD 15 | Cost 60 | Range 600 | Radius 250 Morina channels for 0.5/0.6/0.7/0.8/0.9 seconds, if she is attacked during this channel then she blocks all damage and teleports to her destination, upon teleporting she shatters and deals 35/50/65/80/95 (+35% Ability Power) Magic Damage to all nearby enemy units around her position and her teleporting position. After teleporting Morina deals 20/30/40/50/60 (+20% Bonus Attack Damage, +10% Ability Power) bonus Magic Damage on her next basic attack within 5 seconds, increased by 20% if she is on her 2nd chain or 40% if she is on her 3rd. If Morina completes the channel then she refunds the cost and restores 12% of her missing mana.


R: Carousel | CD 130/110/90 | Cost 100/110/120 | Radius 475 After a 1 second channel, moving at 50% reduced speed, Morina spins around with her chains flying out for 5 seconds, dealing 40/60/80 (+40% Bonus Attack Damage, +20% Ability Power) Mixed Damage every 0.5 seconds. While activated Morina gains 50% increased movement speed over 3 seconds which persists for the last 2 seconds, and Morina is immune to crowd control for the duration. Morina can cast Shifting Ice during Carousel.


"Morina" is derived from "Morana", the goddess of winter and death in Slavic mythology. "Morana" sounded too close to "Moron-a" though.

Morina's passive Cold Steel with item 3146 + item 3285 + item 3089 + item 3812 + item 3072 gives her 406 Ability Power for 25% increased Bonus Attack Damage, for 250 total Bonus Attack Damage giving her 25% healing from abilities. Not including Runes. Probably her best build? And yes, this is basically old Akali's passive, nerfed down I believe.

Morina is kind of like a strange Thresh/Lisandra crossover with some Wukong added in there I guess...? I just made the abilities based off of the picture.

Landing your W is rather hard given its slow projectile speed, so pairing it with Q is a great way to get the freeze. Q can be difficult to pull off, so try Q-ing minions first and then using your last Q on a champion, the grounding will help tremendously. Waiting until Q is almost ready to pull can also work, but might give too much reaction time for your enemy to back off. Landing a Q/W can also be pretty easy right after an E, if you targeted to teleport in their direction. R and E look very similar while channeling, you can use this to your advantage. Melee champions can have a difficult time against your E, as the teleport can hit them twice if you teleport at your location.
