Champion Concept - Farra, the Stone's Invoker
Character Farra hails from the Shuriman Desert and her father was a blacksmith in a village. That village later was destroyed during a raid by a bandit gang. She vowed to avenge her father. The patron spirit of her village heed her plea and bestowed upon her the power to bring to life the very stones around her. She is strong woman but fairly jolly despite losing her father. She seeks to bring happiness to people’s lives but she is also not afraid to step down from a fight.
Kit Passive - Earth’s Apprentice
- When one of Farra’s pillars is destroyed or one of her abilities damages an enemy champion, Farra can collect Rubble. Far gains bonus Armor from Rubble collected. 5s cooldown.
Q - Earthen Pillar
- Farra pulls the ground up in a small area and creates a tower of earth. It gains a percentage of Farra’s health and resistances and acts as normal terrain (can block movement/vision). Cannot be set within a certain distance from one another. Farra can hold onto charges of Earthen Pillar.
W - Flurry of Sand
- Farra roots herself and creates a sandstorm in an area in front of her that deals damage over time and slows enemies for a short duration. If any Pillars are hit by the storm, a smaller AOE is created around them for a duration as well. This can chain to other Pillars. AOE and slow amount can stack.
E - Stone Spirit
- Farra breakdown the Pillars into sand that she and her allies can walk through (similar effect to Brush) for a short duration.
R - Desert’s Awakening
-
Passive - Stone Satchel - Farra gains an additional 1/2/3 charges to Earthen Pillar.
-
Active - Farra creates Pillars immediately in front of her, equal to her charges of Earthen Pillar at time of casting (consuming the charges). All of Farra’s Pillars become living entities that will attack enemies, dealing magic damage on hit. Her cooldowns are greatly reduced during this time.
Gameplay
-
Farra is Utility Tank Mage that is best suited for top lane or as a support.
-
As a top later, she create a nest of pillars with Earthen Pillar and has the ability to stack her passive pretty consistently. If placed correctly her Pillars can create a labyrinth of stone between and enemy junglers, as well as restrict her lane opponent’s movement. As more and more Pillars are created her other spells effectiveness. When combined with Flurry of Sands, this create a very large AOE if there are enough pillars in lane. With Desert’s Awakening activated, she can create and control a massive army of stone creatures that would devastate the enemy team if executed correctly.
-
As a support, she helps to zone opponents to allow her ADC to farm safely. If they are engaged on or if a jungle is coming in to gank, she can activate Stone Spirit to gain the movement advantage over her opponents. If things get really hairy, she can activate Desert’s Awakening to add on slows and dissuade would-be pursuers.
Items
-
Farra benefits from building Health, Armor, AP and Cooldown Reduction.
-
Rylai’s Crystal Scepter is great on Farra and synergies so well with her abilities. The health and AP from it will help her abilities but the key part is its passive slow. This will allow Farra to keep enemies in her massive sand storms for longer duration.
-
Randuin’s Omen is great on Farra. The huge amount of health and armor benefit both her and her Pillars. Once again, the slow from the active helps keep enemies locked down.
-
Abyssal Scepter works well with Flurry of Sands if caught with your enemy while surrounded by your Pillars as the AOE Passive will increase your damage as you fight near them reducing their resistances.
-
Iceberg Gauntlet is pivotal to her team fight. The armor and cooldown reduction are great as a base stat, but the Spellblade effect is great in keeping your enemies near as you deal stacking damage around them.
Synergies Vayne
- With the creation of Earthen Pillars, a player with fast reflexes can create a wall for Vayne to condemn her enemies into quickly. Also, with Stone Spirt and Final Hour Active, this renders Vayne largely invisible to her lane opponent for a great deal of time.
Anivia
- With Anivia’s own terrain creation, the duo can quickly lockdown and area and deals tons of AOE damage with Glacial Storm and Flurry of Sands. Flash Frost can help Farra with quickly positioning her Pillars to create a devastating Desert’s Awakening when they come out of the stun.
Nautilus
- With Earthen Pillar, Farra can create a path for Nautilus to quickly go down to escape from or engage on the enemy team. The slow from Flurry of Sands will allow Nautilus to land his hooks easier to lockdown enemies squishes. Desert’s Awakening and Depth Charge combo nicely as the knock-up and slows will keep enemies in the area and force a disadvantageous engage or splitting of the enemy team.
