[Champion Rework] Evelynn
Evelynn, the Fallen Thief Stealthy hit and run assassin.
Visuals -Switch red to pink as it compliments the blue a lot better -Lighten the blue to make her look more human -Add a couple bangs so she isn't 100% forehead. -Make the hair smaller. I couldn't do it in the picture but having it be a spectral pink flame would be amazing. -Go for lots of light, almost see through cloth -Heels are retractable, so they can work in fights. When she hits with her passive she does a kick while extending the stiletto. -Keep Shadow Evelynn's spiky BDSM look. -Make the hair flippies shorter but wider. Less visual clutter. -Attacks with claws. -She could have a cool little cloak to wear while in stealth like in harry potter. -Her E's shroud looks kind of like a spooky shower curtain. The reason why it's used is because animating her actually leaning in close to bite would be really hard, especially with champs like Vel'koz, and biting like trundle would just make her look stupid. -Change her proportions as little as possible, the only reason I did is because I'm bad at drawing curvy ladies.
Lore outline -Mordekaiser’s wife while he was mortal -Died after he did -Mordekaiser came back to resurrect her, but she didn’t want to be raised into undeath, so she left him. -Raised as a vampire, which steals memories and secrets instead of blood. -Eventually found the blessed isles, which hired her to steal mordekaiser’s skull. -She broke into Morde’s fortress and pulled it off -Undead and now without purpose, she began to work as a contracted thief and spy, able to infiltrate and steal from even the most well guarded vaults. -Learned of Mordekaiser’s return and wants to see if he’s changed.
Voiceover and Interactions -Her current voiceover has a really nice effect that surprised me when I first picked her up. -She shares a lot of quotes with Mordekaiser, which makes including him in her lore cool. -Her current quotes work pretty well, but there's too few of them. -Her E is a good opportunity for champion interactions since it's supposed to steal memories. Would be really cool to do it like Dota 2's oracle and have a quote for every champion when she bites them. -She's angry at Mordekaiser, but still kind of loves him -Probably odd friends with Maokai, Yorick and maybe even Thresh -Knows Twisted Fate
Stats: Defense: Squishier, relies a lot on positioning AP: Okay base and good scaling, she won't do enough damage with tank builds. AD: Decent base and poor scaling, works best with attack speed builds. Move Speed: Enough to make up for no spammable dark frenzy
Passive: Dark Frenzy -Evelynn gains more movement speed the closer she is to an enemy champion. Her first autoattack against a target will have a small slow.
Q: Spiteful Needles -Throws a needle and applies a stacking debuff. -Very spammable, -Slightly longer range than current Q, but a lot thinner. -Has pink ghost particles swirling around it to make it more visible. -Deals okay damage -Stacks up to five
W: Shadow Walk -Stealth, drains an increasing amount of mana the longer she is in it. -Smaller detection range than live but if a ward or minion gets inside her circle, even a yellow ward, you can see her. -Can’t cast in combat unless you get a fully stacked spectral bite off ** E: Spectral Bite** -Eve creates a cloak of shadow around her and her target. -This makes both of them untargetable while she bites them. -Lasts longer and does more damage based on Q stacks.
R: Perfect Theft -Dashes through an enemy champion, temporarily “stealing” their items, reducing their effectiveness and disabling their actives/passives -Range is around five to seven teemos on both sides. -Always goes the whole way to the other side unlike Fizz or Yasuo.
** Gameplay**
P -Her passive is there so she can stick to people, she gains a lot of rewards for staying in melee range, but it's dangerous because she's squishy. -(Optional) Her first attack deals bonus damage if she doesn't have enough damage in her kit. -(Optional) The movement speed bonus wears off after a while if she's too sticky.
Q -Close to the same, but has a longer range so Evelynn doesn't have to be as tanky to survive in fights. -Is a skillshot that you actually aim now. -Debuff does nothing until its consumed by E
W -Stealth drains increasing mana, so you have to be smart with it or build something like tear. -If the circle is directly on a ward, even if it's invisible, you can see her. This adds counterplay because you can use unique warding locations to trip her up. Circle is smaller to compensate a bit of course. -Resetting on max E stacks means she has a chance to survive an assassination.
E -Needing Q stacks to be effective adds gameplay. Eve has to figure out how many stacks she can get up to before going in. -Makes both invulnerable to outside attacks, but stationary. So your laner has time to prepare help in ganks, and lets you safely use it in a teamfight. -(Optional) Regenerates or steals mana, since it's supposed to steal memories.
R -Messes up her positioning, but weakens her enemy. -Bad Eve players will get disoriented when using the dash, but good ones will use it to their advantage. -Makes her able to 1v1 better. -Allows her to act as an anti carry by eliminating an enemy's item advantage for a short time. -If she's going ham she can use it on tanks to get to the back line.
Should be able to work in mid, jungle, and maybe top. Items lean more towards a typical AP assassin, but off builds aren't impossible to pull off. Should have enough utility to be useful even when behind. Her full combo often doesn't 100-0 somebody, which is why she can get away with being very slippery.
Closing thoughts Evelynn is currently a complete blank slate right now, the only thing she has is a loose connection to the Shadow Isles. This update would give her a more important place in the lore, having a direct effect on other characters by being the unknown thief who stole Mordekaiser's skull. Her long time being undead also allows her to have a large effect on history as an incredibly skilled world class thief/spy. That aspect, in addition to the vampiric theme, would give her a purpose beyond being a weird bdsm corpse. The gameplay update gives her a lot more counterplay, allows her to better fulfill the fantasy of an assassin who can get quickly in and out of fights, and has abilities that separate her from other stealthy assassins.
(Note: If anyone can come up with a better title than the Fallen Thief I'll change it and credit you down here.)
