April MCCC- A Fool's Errand!

Anybody else excited for such a fun time of year?! Welcome to the Monthly Champion Creation Competition of April, 2015! As always, this is a four week competition(may spill in to next month due to my lack of experience as a judge) to see who can create and complete the best concept within some guidelines! When it comes to judging, follow the rubric and avoid unnecessary conflict and we should have no problems!

THE APRIL MCCC IS NO LONGER ACCEPTING ANY ENTRANTS AT THIS TIME

Please note that the MCCC only accepts champions made specifically for this competition for this month and this month alone! No old concepts of previously made concepts allowed!

SCHEDULE) April 1st-15th: Accepting Entries. Must have name to be considered an entry. April 15th-20th: Time to work on your concepts! April 21st: Disqualification of any concepts that are missing lore, name, or full ability section. April 22nd-29th: Judging!!!!!!!!!!!!!! April 30th or possibly beyond: Announcing winners.

First place will receive a mystery skin or champion(your choice!)

Lore Rubric: Does your lore accurately display the functions of your champion, does it hit home and stir emotion, and how well is it written(or typed, I guess)? Since this MCCC is pretty much modeled after Moby The White's MCCCs, the rubric is pretty similar. However, with this MCCC, creativity and originality will critically affect your score just as much as the lore and balance. Anyway, back on topic, here's some of the criteria regarding your entrant's lore:

Clarity-syntax does your lore have proper spelling and grammar?

Fluidity-does your lore flow well in story going from point to point and makes sense?

Theme- does your lore have a strong thematic approach?

Motivation- does your lore explain how they got their powers and why they joined this particular competition? Why does your champion exist?

Tone and mood- how does it read and does it inspire emotional or comical, positive response? Does the reader like reading it?

Originality- is you lore original or unique? Does it keep the reader interested with twists and unpredictability?

Lore is scored x/25 points.

Theme) Do the abilities and lore fit the overall theme?

Theme is scored x/10.

Lore Ability Synergy) Do your abilities reflect your character?

LAS is scored x/5.

Abilities/kit(and balance...don't forget balance) Rubric:

Is your champion balanced? Are they fun to play with, against, or as? Is your champion's kit unique, or different from existing champions'? How are the character's mechanics? Are they clunky or confusing? Does the enemy have a way to fight back against your character? If not, then your entrant may need a mass rework.

Abilities/Kit are scored x/20.

Creativity) Is the champion creative and original, or is it at least an interesting take on something that has already been done/existed?

Creativity is scored x/25.

Kit Cohesion Synergy) Does everything in your abilities section work well together?

Cohesion Synergy is scored x/10.

THEMES:

Not everything in Runeterra must be so serious! During tense times such as this, it helps to have a comedic voice in the midst of chaos! Perhaps I shall chime in with my own little...“distraction" from the stressful politics of this world? Yes! That is just what I will do! Perhaps a fun, but competitive, game will soothe the tensions? That will do swimmingly! Oh I am so excited! I have always been fascinated with the wacky things sentient minds imagine! A game that encourages outside-the-box thinking, Wolf? Genius! I grow more and more proud of me each day! But what kind of game, I wonder? What kind of game indeed? A physical obstacle course? Terrible! A fun little free for all battle royale? Boring! Perhaps...and bear with me here, Wolf...a scavenger hunt surrounded by mystery and shrouded with riddles! Yes, oh yes! Just the fun distraction this world needs, and I know just what the subject shall be...

UTILIZING THE MOST WACKY, OUTSIDE-THE-BOX, AND ORIGINAL MINDS, THE FIRST CITY-STATE TO CORRECTLY DETERMINE AND FIND MY OBJECT WILL BE REWARDED HANDSOMELY! JUST FOLLOW THE HINTS AND GUIDELINES BELOW AND THE RICHES BEYOND COMPARE WILL BE YOURS!!!!!!!!!

Disgusted by the tensions of war, Kamiroo Wolf has devised a fun game to help ease such tensions! He calls on the most innovative and unorthodox minds to represent their city-states in a scavenger hunt to find what he claims to be the most precious item in Valoran. Additionally, the winner will be granted riches and prizes beyond imagination! The time on the clock is one month! Are the denizens of this world capable of solving the puzzle and finding the treasures?

Lore Challenge: Not everything must be so serious! Wolf has set up multiple obstacles, traps, and much more around Valoran and many additional hints and tips! The quest to find the treasure is sure to be a wacky one, especially with every unorthodox and wacky mind on the same path! Create a story that reflects the crazy and hilarious journey your hero's find themselves on as well as where THEY think the objective is hidden!

FACTIONS AND KIT CHALLENGES:

The kit challenges are challenges that effect your abilites depending on where your champion is representing! For instance, a Yordle must have at least 1 faction/kit challenge from the Bandle City section. The theme of this MCCC is wacky and unorthodox, so don't be afraid to make a ridiculous and jokey set of abilities. So without further ado, here are your factions and their kit challenges:

Bandle City) Those Yordles in Bandle City can be a rather comedic and inventive bunch! Kamiroo is expecting quite a bit of diversity when it comes to the way these lil guys play his game! Choose ONE of the following:

• At least 1 ability must spawn a robot/pet of sorts.
• Champion must use a resource other than mana or energy.
• At least 1 ability must affect player model.

Bilgewater) A tough place to live! Not every person in Bilgewater has been able to hold on to their marbles through the years and that's just what Kamiroo is counting on! Choose ONE of the following:

• At least 1 ability must have global range.
• At least 1 ability must interact with gold in some way(can't steal gold from others)
• Champion must have some sort of firearm in their kit.

Demacia) As loyal and true and Demacians are, Kamiroo isn't expecting much diversity from this city-state. Prove him wrong why don't you? Show Wolf that Demacians can be just as outside of the box as everyone else. Choose ONE of the following:

• Champion must use a resource other than mana(energy allowed).
• Champion must be melee and have an ability that pierces armor.
• At least 1 ability must be a skill-shot gap closer.

Freljord) The biting air of the frozen Freljord is more than capable of altering logical minds through the frigid whispers of winds. Kamiroo expects such minds to emerge from the glaciers of frost and add a bit of chill to his contest. Choose ONE of the following:

• Champion must not have any abilities relating to ice, snow or the cold.
• Champion' s abilities must each have a unique passive(can't be similar to each other is what I mean by “unique")
• At least 1 ability must freeze multiple targets.

Ionia) A city-state as calm and mystical as Ionia is sure to have some rather spectacular participants in Kamiroo's hunt! Wolf knows that the minds of Ionia are like no other, and urges many of their citizens to join in the game! Choose ONE of the following:

• At least 1 ability must heal AND deal damage.
• Each ability must be affected damage-wise by % of resource(Like how Ryze's mana affects his damage output)
• Champion must use a resource other than energy(mana allowed).

Noxus) Noxians...personally, Kamiroo doesn't like Noxians but he does, however, like the way some of them think. Twisted minds are innovative minds, nonetheless and even Kamiroo will accept their input in his game. Choose ONE of the following:

• Champion must use Rage or Fury and be ranged.
• Champion must have some form of CC in all of his abilities, EXCEPT for the ultimate(passive included)!
• Champion must not use any currently existing resource(come up with a new wacky one!).

Piltover) Piltover is Kamiroo's favorite city-state and expects many of his contest' s greatest competitors to emerge from the area. Wolf hungers to see what creative and unorthodox characters arise from the city and has a special set of requirements for them! Choose ONE of the following:

• At least 1 ability must spawn an Automaton(robot) of sorts.
• Champion must use“Rust" as a resource. Rust is a resource that builds up over time. How it is used, however, is up to you. Be creative and innovative!
• At least 1 ability must offer teleportation of some sort.

Shurima) The sweltering heat of the arid desert causes lucid visions...visions that have inspired many over. Wolf seeks to draw out those who have been inspired by visions, or those obsessed with riches enough to participate in his challenge. The sands are an unpredictable environment...Kamiroo isn't sure what to expect, but he is definitely keeping a close eye on them. Choose ONE of the following:

• Champion must have a secondary form that can be activated through their ultimate.
• At least 1 ability must blind or silence for a duration depending on how long the enemy stays in the AoE
• At least 1 ability must Interact with digging in some way, shape, or form.

The Void) Aware that The Void is not a city-state, Kamiroo still recognises the Voidborn as an intelligent race capable of completing his challenges and encourages any undiscovered Voidborn in Runeterra to participate, promising their safety. The prize for Voidborn participants, however, is different. They will receive the objective as a gift as well as be granted any wish they want...so long as it is within Kamiroo's power...which could be pretty much anything. Choose ONE of the following:

• At least 1 ability must immobilize both its user and target for a duration.
• Champion must have an infinitely stacking passive ability.
• Champion must interact with hunger in some way, but have no abilities that actually devour/feed.

Zuan) Kamiroo admires the intellectual diversity within the chaotic city-state of Zuan and happily accepts all mad men, scientists, or nuts who's mindsets are as different as possible! With such a bustling city of artificers, hustlers, and crazies, Wolf anticipates these contestants will be the life of the party! Choose ONE of the following:

• Champion must not use any other resources than HEAT.
• Champion must start with an item in their inventory that effects gameplay significantly.
• At least 1 ability must work with explosives in some way.

Independent) Wolf isn't too fond of loners, but any independent minds outside of the city-states is welcome to join his competition. However, independent competitors have much more...specific requirements. Choose ONE of the following:

• At least 1 ability must have multiple charges.
• Champion must have an alternating form of some kind(such as Nidalee, Jayce, Jinx, etc.)
• Champion must have a unique weapon with a very interesting spin on its function(For example, Your champion uses a briefcase that also functions as a cybernetic glaive of sorts...originality is key)
