Naomi, the (insert cool subtitle here)
Hey guys. This is my first champion post in a while, so a few notes: I try to word this like a champion spotlight. I will give the mechanics of each ability, followed by my personal opinion on them. After I'll make some other notes, like builds and roles in teamfights. So, lets get started! :)
BTW: this character is based on the bodyguard from Soul Eater. I stole some names from the names Soul Eater used, so those might have to be changed...
Passive: Infinite One Sword Style. Swords periodically appear on the ground around Naomi. These are untargetable. When Naomi walks over it, he gains one point of his alternate resource (stacks up to _ times). These swords last for 60 seconds (they have a timer bar, much like wards). and grant vision nearby them. Naomi is manaless, and only his Q has a cost oriented to casting. Further notes on this after the abilities section
Q: Blade Throw. Naomi throws a sword out in a line after briefly channeling, consuming one point of alt. resource. It deals damage and marks the first target hit. a target can be marked multiple times. This ability is your bread and butter. Use it to harass in lane and keep the enemy marked so you can dash to them (E)
W: Pin. Passive: Naomi deals increased damage to rooted targets. The next time Naomi casts blade throw, it is empowered to throw up to three blades, and root the target(s) (root duration increased with every sword spent). Each blade deals reduced damage if hitting the same target as previously targets. This is Naomi's primary all in tool, if you can manage to land 2-3 of the blades, the root duration will be plenty long enough to make use of the passive damage boost. In addition, allies that can root help a lot
E: (insert dash name here). Naomi dashes to a nearby sword or marked target, instantly picking up the sword or removing one mark. If dashing to a marked target, they receive damage and are slowed. This ability can be cast multiple times in rapid succession up to 3 times, then goes on an extended cooldown per use. Naomi can dash even when at max resource. It will consume marks, but not pick up grounded swords, and Naomi will not get any resource. This can be used to quickly trade in lane by marking a target with Q, dashing to them and then immediately dashing to a grounded sword. Because each use increases the cooldown, be wary of using it more than 1-2 in a skirmish, as you will then have no escape. Conversly, this gives high sticking potential if you can get multiple marks on the enemy via Pin.
R: Infinity. Naomi throws blades into the air, instantly losing all alt. resource. The blades fall to the ground around target nearby area. The number of blades is a base number plus the amount of alt. resource consumed. These blades deal damage around them upon landing, then stick in the ground (becoming identical to his passive swords). For the next _ seconds, Naomi deals increased damage to marked targets and Blade Toss is on a reduced cooldown. This abiltiy drastically increases mobility and damage during team fights/all-ins More info on this below.
A note: sorry about any repeated info, I'm making this piecemeal :'(
Naiomi is made for mid or top lane, and is an AD assassin. During the laning phase, Naomi's swords will become hotly contested points in lane, as picking one up gives Naomi ranged harass, and mobility onto an enemy, with the possibility of producing a long root. Luckily, Naomi has the ability to quickly pick up swords by dashing to them with (dash).
Harassing the opponent in lane, Naomi relies on landing frequent blade throws, possibly followed up with a quick (dash) and a few auto attacks, especially if there is a blade nearby safety to return to (Think Yasuo). All-in will rely on landing a solid root duration via pin, followed up by dashing to the champion with (dash) into auto attacks and more blade tosses. Remember that (dash) consumes only one mark per use on a target, so you can space them out to continue to stick to a fleeing opponent.
Escaping from ganks will require some tricky sword placement. If a sword appears significantly behind you in lane, it might be better to leave it there for escapes instead of picking it up. The blades last for quite a while. Alternatively, marking the incoming ganker, if they are trying to flank you from behind, allows one to dash to them, leaving the enemy mid laner farther away than they would like.
Teamfights will require the use of Naomi's ultimate on the teamfight area. This will significantly increase your mobility.
Naomi's kill potential lies in his sticking potential with (dash) and various % damage increases (pin damage boost on rooted targets and Infinity damage boost on marked targets)
This is the only champion I've finished recently, besides another one I'm about to post. Thanks for any comments and suggestions below! :)
