#Gershom & Loi

Primary Role: Fighter (AP), Melee Secondary Role(s): Tank, Mage

#Description

Gershom is a small, faded grey-blue goblin with pointed ears, and a long pointed nose. His burnt-orange eyes flicker with cunning and malice, and serve as gateways to his desires. His jet black hair is tied back into a ceremonial ponytail, and secured by a ring of stone inscribed with ancient arcane runes. Gershom wears a vest which extends to about half his torso, and composed of crimson scale, and the vest itself is lined in gold. Two gold rings around his hands and lead into gauntlets, adorned with scarlet arcane stones for conducting chaotic magics. A scroll of sorts has formed wraps on some of his lower mid section, leading into a pair of indigo shorts which stop at his knees. Gershom's golden, bird-like feet have three digits extending forward into talons, and one on his heels for balance and grip.

Loi is a large, hulking behemoth, taller than three grown men stacked upon each other's shoulders, and just as wide. Most, if not all of Loi's body is composed of muscle, coated in a crimson shark-like skin, with purple markings and several spikes protruding from its back. The beast hunches over, and extends its head outward, and its large, feral mouth forming an underbite dagger smile, and a single, golden eye instilling terror into those which cross its path. Its lower right arm has long since been missing, and is replaced with a club like appendage intricately carved with a crude arcane crystal pillar at its center. Loi's legs are somewhat small in comparison to the rest of its body, leading into its paw-like feet. From its backside, a spiked tail sprouts, typically dragged against the ground.

Here are some drawings of mine to give you an idea of what they look like (sadly I can't color):

Loi

#Overview:

Gershom/Loi are a Health-based AP fighter who revolve around high positioning and damage at the expense of health and some control. Relying on somewhat chaotic tactics, Gershom will be the main source of damage, while Loi will make sure Gershom survives long enough to deal such damage. While Gershom and Loi share the same primary health bar, at various times Gershom may be sent elsewhere using Gershom/Loi's abilities. By finding the right mix of health and damage, Gershom/Loi will be able to dominate the mid/late game.

#Stats

Health: 568 (+90) Health Regen: 7.8 (+0.65) Melee: 125 Attack Damage: 60 (+3) Attack Speed: 0.625 (+3%) Armor: 25 (+3.5) Magic Resist: 30 (+1.25) Movement Speed: 345

#Abilities

Passive: Nether-spawn

After 6 basic attacks, Gershom/Loi generate a spell-shield which will negate the damage and effects of the next incoming enemy ability. When their spell-shield is popped, Gershom/Loi gain a 27% movement speed buff that decays over the next 3 seconds.

Additionally, whenever either Gershom or Loi dies (Health is completely expended), the following occurs: -Upon Gershom's death, Loi's vision range will decrease by a certain amount, and lose access to Gershom related abilities. However, Loi gains a large amount of attack damage to make up for this.

-Upon Loi's death, Gershom loses attack damage, some damage resistance, and access to Loi related abilities. To make up for this, Gershom gains a large amount of movement speed. Additionally, Loi's corpse behaves as terrain for a certain amount of time.

Whenever Gershom is away from Loi, his current health can be tracked where the secondary resource bar is located.

Q: Lackey Toss

Loi throws Gershom at a target location or enemy, dealing 70/95/120/145/170 (+0.85 AP) magic damage. If Gershom hits an enemy, he will latch onto that enemy, and deal additional damage over time before returning to Loi. While away from Loi, Gershom gains access to an alternate move set, while also leaving himself vulnerable to damage (Gershom will have the equivalent of 40/44/48/52/56% of Loi's max health). During this time, Loi will attack nearby enemies, or can be positioned elsewhere (Gershom can be positioned via alt clicking). The player may Recast Q for Gershom to teleport back to Loi. If Q is not recast in 2.5 seconds (tentative), Gershom will return to Loi anyway (but not deal the damage).

Q2: Shadow Travel

Gershom explodes dealing 50/70/90/110/130 (+0.75 AP) (+0.05 HP) magic AoE damage, and returns to Loi (Not available when Loi is enraged.) When Gershom returns, he restores what remains of the health expended on cast, and whatever he's stored up from being away.

Cost: 15% of Current Health Cooldown: 12/11/10/9/8 seconds Range: 675

W: Twisted Blade

Passive: Gershom/Loi store charges of "Torment", storing up to 2/2/3/3/4 charges at any given time. Active: Gershom stabs Loi in the back (literally), expending a stack of torment and causing Loi to become enraged. While enraged, Loi moves 16/18/20/22/24% faster, deals 15% more damage with its basic attacks, and deal true damage while walking through minions or small monsters. However, if Gershom stabs Loi too many times in quick succession (3), Loi will grab Gershom and utilize him as a weapon, going on a rampage for the next 3/3.25/3.5/3.75/4 seconds, dealing massive damage at the expense of 50 health (for each strike involving Gershom as a weapon), and silencing Loi. Additionally, hitting an enemy unit while wielding Gershom will cause Gershom to attach to that enemy (granting access to Gershom's alternative move set) until Loi's next auto attack (which will cause Loi to retrieve Gershom).

W2: Savage Bite

Gershom takes a bite out of an enemy unit or Loi, dealing 50/80/110/140/170 (+0.8 AD) damage to them and healing himself for the same amount. If the bite is taken out of Loi, the duration of its enrage is extended. If Gershom takes a bite of an enemy while attached to them, the enemy is slowed by 6/8/12/14/16% the next 2 seconds. Multiple bites on the same target will deal 5% more damage for each consecutive bite.

Cost: 40/60/80/100/120 health + 1 charge of Torment (If Savage Bite, no cost) Cooldown/stack recharge rate: 14/13/12/11/10 seconds Range: Self

E: Infernal Flames

Loi and Gershom light themselves on fire, dealing 55/75/95/115/135 (+0.65 AP) AoE magic damage per second and healing themselves for a 27/30/33/36/39% of the damage wherever either of them are positioned.

E2: Feral Flames

When Gershom is on fire (and not with Loi) , he will attract nearby monsters and enemy minions in addition to Infernal Flames' effects.

Cost: 80/100/120/140/160 health (Gershom) + 15/20/25/30/35 health per second (Loi) Cooldown: 8/7.5/7/6.5/6 seconds Range: Self+250 radius

R: Darkened Assault/Restoration

Passive: Loi gains a 6/9/12% movement speed bonus while moving towards Gershom. If Gershom dies, he will respawn at Loi's location within 90/75/60 seconds. Active (With Loi): After a short channel Gershom leaps off of Loi to a nearby enemy champion suspends them, dealing 300/420/540 (+0.85 AP) magic damage, and causes Gershom to latch onto the target. Active (Without Loi): After a short channel, Gershom summons Loi underneath him, dealing 300/420/540 (+0.75/0.8/0.9 AP) AoE damage around them, and knocking up nearby enemies for 1.5 seconds.

Cost: 160/200/240 health Cooldown: 250/180/110 seconds Range: 725

Upon Selection:

"Let's have a little fun now, shall we?"

Movement:

"Order is but a falsehood." "Blood and bones litter our path." "True freedom comes from chaos." "Faster you brute! There is work to be done." "Soon, the ground will be ash..." "We shall blaze a trail in our march!" "Shadows are but shrouds." "Come Loi, there is chaos to unleash!"

Attacking:

"Spill their blood!" "Swallow the cowards whole!" "Smash their bones to dust!" "TEAR THEM LIMB FROM LIMB!" "This'll be a slaughter!" "The only certainty is your DESTRUCTION." "Such agony...perfect!" "Endless torture...the perfect tool."

Jokes:

Gershom smacks the back of Loi's head, causing its eye to fall out, and pretends to perform Shakespeare.

"To be, or not to be...well what kind of question is that?" "Alas poor Loi...I knew him...uh, it...them." "But soft! What light through yonder eyeball breaks?" "The whole world's a...well, a bloodbath! Hahahaha."

Taunts:

Gershom raises his dagger to his neck and mimics a slicing motion, followed by Loi smashing the ground repeatedly.

"I bet you taste like chicken, but I'll let Loi be the judge of that." "Doesn't matter whether we chop you up or smash you to pieces, they'll be nothing left either way." "Slice your throat...or break your bones...hmmm, decisions..."

Dance:

Goes a little something like...this.

#LORE

#"A Fool's Errand:"

DAY 1:

*Darkness leaked, and rose through cracks within the tainted soil as Loi staggered across the lands. The hulking, demonic creature was larger than three men would be if stacked upon each other's shoulders like ants, and its muscular figure let of a ghastly steam due to the cool air around it. It's almost regal crimson skin seemed to radiate in the shadows, along with its large golden eye and silvery dagger smile. It seemed to hunch over from the extreme mass of itself, but would easily win a fight with just about anything in its way, assuming the thing had the stupidity to stay there. The lower section of Loi's right arm was missing, but had since been replaced by a large, club-like cylinder with an arcane gem pillar at it's core. As it walked, both the club and its knuckles dragged across the tainted earth, granting some way of returning to where it was previously, and a challenge for those who came across it. *

Upon its back rested a much smaller figure, a goblin little more than half of the average human, which went by the name of Gershom. His jet-black hair was tied back into the ponytail secured by a stone ring and pin, and a large, pointed nose grew between his fiery, chaotic eyes, which pierced into the darkness above. Gershom's faded jade-green skin was an almost startling contrast to the large beast it rode upon, but the two complimented each other in a strange, yet undeniable way. Both needed the other in order to survive.

Loi made a sudden halt at the sight of a strange corpse laid across its path. Normally, the beast would steam roll over such an obstacle, but there was something about the mangled body that intrigued the dull creature. The dull brute screeched for the goblin's attention, causing Gershom to jolt, and exploded with nothing but a flicker of a flame and a puff of smoke. He reformed down by the corpse and burrowed into the oddity with his eyes. Whoever he was, he was human, Gershom thought to himself. It was also clear that this man was not used to the harsh environment of the Voodoo Lands, which ruled out the possibility of him being part of the order. In the man's hand, a crumbled up piece of parchment was held prisoner, and so the goblin liberated it by waving his dagger over the corpse's hand, and reducing it to ash. Gershom then retrieved the note with the utmost care, and unfolded it with equal caution. Loi ducked down and positioned its head over the goblin's head out of futile curiosity. Gershom let loose a wild grin, for upon the parchment, a riddle was inscribed, a riddle which promised riches beyond compare to whoever could find some treasure the host has hidden. For the first time in many years, Gershom had found something that may be worth his time.

"Come Loi," he ordered the beast behind him as reappeared upon the brutish figure's back, "we have work to do."

DAY 4:

Three long and painful days had passed, with little to nothing to show for it.

Gershom read the riddle once again in the shadow of the grand floating pyramids of Shurima, for what literally had to of been the thousandth time. He had figured out what the "object" in question was four days prior, but was no closer on discovering the location. He searched the pit where he and Loi emerged, he gazed into the vile poison lakes of the Voodoo Lands, Gershom even ripped the eyes from one of the other participants involved in the "game". Okay, several participants. But he had to make sure! He searched each pair of eyes, and each eye individually, but the object wasn't there. Or perhaps it was. Gershom recalled when he thought that the riddle referenced watching their back, and had cut Loi's backside open...twice.

One has to be thorough when it comes to matters like these.

Gershom vaguely toyed with the idea of tearing out his eye to see if the object was truly there, but decided against it. There was no way this "Wolf" could have hidden it there. Gershom plopped into the sands and held his head in frustration. This truly was a fool's errand. WHERE DO YOU EVEN FIND TIME? It was a joke in itself. Time had no physical form. The desert may have been a good place to start, as the ascended had once pulled the very fabric of reality, as the legends go, but when all was said and done, it was another day wasted. There was nothing in the riddle describing Shurima, and nothing of value to be gathered from it.

A dozen or so feet behind Gershom, Loi threw himself around playfully in the dunes, which might of been adorable if it wasn't so damn terrifying. The beast seemed to be having a great time in the burning sands, and chasing small, terrified Xer'Sai away into the depths. Loi used his lone hand to dig in pursuit of the creatures, and had its club ready to smash anything which dared to surface. Wasted time, Gershom thought to himself. He dissipated, and reformed on Loi's shoulder. The beast looked up, and Gershom raised one hand and pointed forward.

They were being watched.

Gershom and Loi made a well enough attempt at destroying their onlookers, but the one with the sword was too quick. He grabbed the other boy and made quick work of avoiding Loi's club.

Look alive Tate...this is gonna get intense." the swordsman rose and drew his wolf-shaped katana, and the other boy, which must have been Tate, lifted his bloody baseball bat. Surely they were looking for a fight. Gershom's eyes focused in on the swordsman: a teenager wearing blue jeans and a black jacket with its hood lowered, revealing brown eyes which studied Gershom intently. A crescent pendant was worn around the boy's neck, perhaps some token of dedication to the Wolf. Shifting focus, Gershom took a look at the other boy, Tate. The minuscule figure could have been the swordsman's brother, though Gershom doubted this was the case. Tate wore a black and green striped shirt and black shorts, nothing particularly special. A mess of brown hair partially camouflaged the boy's desolate brown eyes, eyes which held back tormentors, demons. Gershom couldn't help but grin.

"This is how our host greets us?" Gershom laughed, breaking the silence. "Interesting..."

If the boys had any reaction to what Gershom said, they didn't show it. Secretly, the goblin was a little insulted. The Wolf had sent children to deal with Loi and him. Well, he would just have to show how ill advised this tactic was. Gershom didn't care if they were just children, they would die just as miserably as the others which crossed their path. Victory would be his.

Loi grabbed Gershom and hurled him at Tate with immense speed. In response, the swordsman charges at Loi, attempting to make quick work of the beast, while the boy swings his bloodstained bat at the goblin. Gershom evaporates, reforming on Loi's shoulder and lighting both himself and the monster ablaze. Loi swings his massive club at the swordsman, but the attack was dodged and countered swiftly. A large slash tore through Loi's left arm, and the creature roared in pain.

As the swordsman settled back about four yards in front of Gershom/Loi, it had been clear he didn't leave the strike completely unscathed. His black jacket was singed, and the cloak of fire had begun to mend the cut along Loi's arm. The beast let loose a terrifying scream, as if laughing at the swordsman. However, before Gershom/Loi could strike again, a large man wearing nothing but undergarments charged towards them. Loi smashed its hand and club together, causing chaotic runes to manifest around it. As soon as the large man made contact with the beast's flesh, the apparition disintegrated harmlessly, taking the runes with it.

The flames surrounding the goblin and beast faded away. The time for fun and games was over. The only way Gershom and Loi were going to take care of these two, they would have to be separated. Of course, they were probably thinking the same thing. Best thing to do was to act while they had the upper hand.

Gershom sprung forth from Loi's shoulders like a bolt of lightning, ramming straight into Tate, and engulfing him in chaos. The blur enveloping Tate lit itself ablaze, and the boy screamed out in agony as his life force began to disintegrate.

*KAMIROO!" the tragic reminiscence of a boy screamed. Kamiroo let loose a fierce howl, and sent three spectral wolves to destroy the damned goblin who was killing his friend. "Exactly as predicted," Gershom thought to himself. The goblin dissipated, and reformed in time to watch the swordsman's wolves tear apart the Tormented Child. Gershom let loose a demonic cackle. "One down, one to go." *

The swordsman was all alone. Gershom took his dagger and slashed at Loi's back so that the beast would charge at Kamiroo. In response, the Lone Wolf readied his sword in front of him until it transformed into a large white wolf which met Loi head on. Loi and the wolf battled relentlessly, a mix of claws, fangs, and a club. Burning flesh and spectral fur were blended to the point it was unclear who, if anyone, was winning the fight.

Gershom readied his dagger, and cut into Loi's back once more. The creature roared, and in a fury, threw the goblin off of it, becoming blind with rage. Gershom became buried in the dunes nearby so that he may watch his plan unfold. Loi may not survive the battle, but it would be won. While the giant wolf was distracted, the swordsman was defenseless. Gershom moved quickly in the shadows, soon positioning himself behind Kamiroo. Loi only had to buy him a few more moments...

Kamiroo caught sight of Gershom. The spectral wolf from his blade dug its fangs into Loi's neck, and the beast cried out as it began to die, and its flames died out. With the creature out of the way, there was nothing to protect Gershom. The Goblin made a mad dash to the swordsman, for he would have to choose whether or not to risk his life to see if his wolf could end Gershom's. Closer and closer, the goblin and wolf charged, one trying to save the swordsman, one trying to kill it...

The swordsman's blood spilled across the sands as the sun fell bellow the horizon...but he still lived.

Gershom didn't leave completely unscathed. His poisonous ichor threatened to burn away the dunes as he crawled to what remained of Loi's corpse. Most of the body had disintegrated, but it did not matter, enough remained to resurrect it. From the steaming skull, Gershom dislodged Loi's single, golden eye. The goblin drew his dagger, stained with the blood of the brute's killer, and waved it clockwise over the eye. "Rise tormentor," Gershom chanted, "death may not yet claim you, beast. You belong to me."

Day 9:

Gershom and Loi took shelter within the shadow of a large clock tower surrounded by rubble. It had been a little less than a week since their last encounter with worthy foes. Loi still felt pain in its neck where the large spectral wolf had torn into. Meanwhile, Gershom had been analyzing the letter and gem which had mysteriously appeared by his side when he awoke. Loi was unable to provide any explanation as to how it got there, even though it was up to the beast to keep watch in the first place. Luckily, whoever left the gift within the daytime had no intention of killing the goblin and beast, or at the very least, restrained their self. It's the little things that count.

Gershom hoped that by coming to this clock tower he might of been able to find time in some sort of physical form, only to realize that time was not what the Wolf wanted, at least, not exactly. While his initial speculation as far as the riddle was concerned may have seemed valid, it could not have been any clearer what the Wolf wanted after that fight in the desert...

The Wolf wanted them. And the battle had been to assess Gershom and Loi's weaknesses.

The sickly green gem must have been some hint to the Host's location, assuming the host and the Wolf were one and the same. Gershom was no stranger to games, but it upset him greatly that he wasn't the one behind all the manipulation. The goblin sat with his legs crossed, one hand holding up his head, the other twiddling with the gem. Strangely, the spirit inside seemed at peace, more or less. It spun around clockwise, slow but consistent, as if chasing its own trail. It reminded Gershom of the ferocious creatures which circled their territory, of the Hunt, it reminded Gershom of...

The Jungle.

Day 13:

A tin man was the last thing Gershom expected to find in the Plague Jungles, but it was clear the element of surprise was intended. After the contraption's sudden arrival and disappearance, it definitely had that much.

"Come Loi, we must get moving." Gershom ordered the beast. Loi began plowing through the jungle, losing all trace of their intended route, and hopefully, their follower. After around five minutes of running, Gershom and Loi discovered a clearing to which a tactical advantage might have been achievable. "Toss me!" Gershom ordered, and Loi reached back to grab hold of a strap fastened to the goblin's vest, and threw him to the closest branch. Gershom was barely able to stay on, sliding off the branch in his landing only to grip on with his talons at the last moment. This obviously irratated Gershom, but there was no time to make the brute pay for it's stupidity. The automaton reassembled next to Loi in the clearing bellow.

Damn it, Gershom thought to himself, the machine had expected this. A glowing "7" shone brightly on the contraption's blank slate of a face as it raised its hands and proceeded to fire at the beast. Pulses of energy tore through Loi's flesh effortlessly, creating several openings in his mid section, and reducing his good arm to dust. In a desperate attempt, Gershom evaporated and reappeared on Loi's back, and proceeded to light himself and the beast ablaze. The dark flames consumed the life force of all plants and animals near them, causing trees to become withered husks, and reducing the small mammals to ash.

Slowly but surely, splinters of bone began to form from thin air, mashing together violently in attempt to reassemble the lost arm. Tendrils of muscle coiled around the bones, layer upon layer, and the process ended with crimson skin swallowing the arm like a large snake. Surely if the automaton had been human, the sight would have been sickening, but if the mechanization was appalled it did not show it. With wounds healed, Gershom and Loi were ready for a fight.

Runes formed on the beasts skin, and with a slice of the goblin's blade, Loi leaped at 7, ready to smash the automaton to oblivion. The mechanization must have foreseen this, as it raised a shield of energy to mitigate the damage. 7 pressed its hands together, and formed a flaming beam of energy to defend itself. The beam struck at Loi, only to buzz harmlessly against the runes Gershom had provided. The goblin traveled along Loi's arm onto the automaton's back with dagger in hand ready to make quick work of it. The plan would have worked perfectly...

if 7 hadn't already prepared for it.

The automaton burst with a massive shock-wave of energy, knocking Loi back several hundred yards from where it previously stood. Gershom had been completely destroyed in the blast. The intended target. The beast might have been destroyed as well, had it not been for the protection the goblin had provided. The loss of his ally caused rage to roll over him like the tide. Loi's eye became clouded, and the creature grew even larger, and more monstrous. A dark aura surrounded the beast, granting him more than enough strength to accomplish the one goal which was on his mind:

Destroy.

Loi plowed through the colossal trees of the jungle as if they were fodder. Nothing could stop the creature at this point. 7 stood emotionless in the clearing where it had just destroyed the goblin. Clearly, the automaton did not foresee a straight on attack such as the assault that was fast approaching. 7 attempted to defend itself by raising its shield once more. Loi collided with the mechanization, forcing it through half a dozen trees before the beast finally came to a halt. 7's shield flickered away, and the automaton rose for an attempt to fight the beast. 7 created it's energy sword, and proceeded to advance on Loi, to which Loi responded with a flaming fist which both singed 7, and knocked it into the air. 7 broke apart, and reformed behind the beast in a burst of energy and struck at Loi with pulses of energy which wounded, but could not damage it to the extent the attack had in their previous encounter. Loi swung recklessly at the automaton, destroying large sections of the jungle in attempt to hit the contraption.

*** "DIE!" ***

Loi slammed down with his club, forcing 7 into the ground. The beast landed on top of the automaton, with its eyes staring intently at the contraption. It was savoring the imminent kill. If 7 was truly sentient, then there was no way the being was not filled with fear. In a desperate attempt at survival, 7 released another shock-wave. Loi was knocked back, but desperately fought against the surge of energy. Its flesh was partially (for lack of a better word) burned away, but the brute remained standing. Its surge of power faded away, its eye returned to its golden hue, and the blackened aura which surrounded Loi separated from its body and began to form a creature. Bones of crystal manifested, followed by flesh in the form of a demonic sludge which wrapped around its support structure. Orbs of fire formed in its eye sockets, cooling into dark, stern eyes. The sludge began to take detail, and become faded jade-green skin, and formed the rest of the figure's body: eyelids, a pointed nose, pointed ears, mouth, arms, legs, fingers, and talons. A black smoke wrapped around it and transfigured into a small scale vest with leather sleeves, a scroll wrapped around the midsection, and a pair of shorts which ended at the figure's knees. The figure descended, and raised its eyelids to reveal fiery burnt-orange eyes surrounded by a field of darkness instead of the typical white color.

"I wasn't finished with you yet."

Gershom took his place on Loi's back, and 7 rose from the pit it had been forced into just moments before. Its damage was extensive, but the golden core in its chest radiated an energy which slowly repaired to automaton. With his mind clearing, Gershom decided it was best to end things now. The goblin launched himself like a bolt of energy, aiming straight for 7's core. 7 made a weak attempt to defend itself, but it's barrier would not raise, and the damage to its arms was too extensive. "I-I-I'm sorry s-sir," the metal man struggled to say, "I've let you down-"

Gershom shot straight through the automaton's chest, with the gold pulsing core in his hand. The energy burned away at his flesh, causing the goblin to drop it onto the ground, and the core's light faded away.. His hand was damaged and burned away, but nothing that couldn't be handled., It was still new, and would likely regenerate if given the time. Gershom looked down at the strange core which gave the automation power. Curious indeed, Gershom thought to himself. The goblin turned to his ally ready to move on, but as he did the creature let out a painful groan, and fell to the ground. Loi simply did not have what it took to continue on in this vessel, it would have to be resurrected, but to do that, the beast first had to die.

The goblin approached with haste, drawing his dagger, and placing his hand on the brute's shoulder. "You did well," Gershom told the beast, "but now, it is time to rest." Gershom plunged his knife in the back of Loi's neck, making him as still as stone. With is free hand, he tore Loi's eye from its socket, so he may ressurect the creature later on. For now, he was weak, and needed to rest. The goblin crawled into the hollow of a fallen tree, and faded into the darkness to recover. "The time for games has ended," he whispered to himself, "I'm coming for you, Wolf."

Day 16:

The midnight moon held itself high in the sky with its silvery beams striking down on the mountain top. Gershom laid against his beast which seemed to be at peace laying on the mountain's peak. The goblin held in one hand the sickly green gem from his first encounter with the Host's combatants, and in the other, the robotic eye from their last fight, which was almost certainly being used to watch them. The spirit still circled gently around in the gem- it had patience. The goblin held no such patience in his being, at least, not anymore. Focus, he told himself. We do not have the leisure of being able to make a mistake. It was easier once. Gershom drew his cursed dagger from the runic seal upon his chest. The twisted, dark blade seemed to breathe, and stir as if it were alive. It teemed with dark magic, raw power that had not always been his own. It was all so different then...

The goblin rose from his place, being careful not to stir his companion, and walked down the mountain side a few steps, and then a few more. He was missing something, and it troubled him greatly. He needed to find somewhere where he could think. Gershom evaporated into the shadows, traveling at frightening speeds out to sea. He found himself in the crow's nest of a Bilgewater vessel. The sailor (pirate) occupying thhe nest was startled by the goblin's sudden appearance, but Gershom's dagger consumed his essence before a sound could part his lips. Gershom breathed deeply and allowed the salty air to fill his longs, granting him the gift of clarity, if only for the moment.

He raised the sickly green gem to his eye and saw the spirit spinning around, as it always did. But this time, it was spinning faster. On a hunch, Gershom scaled down the mast, weaving shadows around him so he may avoid detection. The spirit was making it difficult, however for the closer he got to the water, the faster it spun, and the brighter it glowed.

His instincts were on a role, so why stop now? He hopped off the side of the vessel, and plunged into the green waters. The spirit manifested itself in front of the goblin: a marai soldier, composed of otherworldly light. Well, Gershom thought to himself, what now? The marai spirit dove into the depths, and Gershom followed reluctantly, sure to be cautious since Loi was not with him...

Day 17:

Gershom had blindly followed the marai spirit into the depths. What they had found was not quite what the goblin expected this far in the depths. A circular bronze gate rested against a wall of jagged stone. Gershom figured the gate must lead into a cave, or tunnel network. Upon further inspection, the intricate workings of the gate was baffling, it wasn't here by ruin, it was intended to be exactly where it was. A panel on the side had the indention shaped like a wolf's paw. So his power expands to even here, Gershom thought to himself. Interesting.

Gershom held up the sickly green gem his host gave him to the sections the paw marking was divided into, matchiing the gem with one of the claws. Gershom placed the gem into the slot, pressing on i, and causing the gate to stir. A vortex of energy formed within the gate, sucking in small amounts of water through itself. The goblin turned to look at his spectral guide, the spirit clearly thinking this was the end of the road for it. "I may still have use of you, marai." Gershom waved his dagger over the gem, and the marai spirit was sucked back in as if it was caught in a whirlpool. Gershom grinned, and proceeded into the vortex, conjuring the gem into his hand at the last second as a precaution.

When Gershom emerged, he found himself at the mouth of the Serpentine River, the brisk, cold waters swirling, coiling around his legs. Perhaps this is what his dream meant, he thought to himself, looking down at the familiar fish. Ah yes, he could feel he was getting close. The pieces were coming together now. The river fed into the Howling Marsh, a hilarious, yet genius place for the Wolf to make it's den. Howling, Gershom laughed. However, he was ill-prepared if a fight were to occur. The Wolf's automaton had assured the goblin that it was the last opponent Gershom would face, but he found it quite unlikely if he was as close as he thought. The goblin had searched just about everywhere else, there were few places his Host could still be hiding. But the Wolf was crafty...yes, Gershom had to exercise precaution for now, at least until Loi could be summoned to him.

"Check, Wolf. What now?"

Day 19:

The banquet was well crafted, Gershom thought to himself. Though it may not of fooled anyone, the disguised goblin made use of his cane as if it was actually a necessity. Gershom was a little disappointed that their host was no where to be seen, and presumably wouldn't be for some time. Only a few others arrived when he did: A strange man in runic armor, a dragon in some sort of suit, and a girl with a smug look on her face. Curious, Gershom thought to himself. Wolf definitely knows how to draw a strange bunch. They had to have been halfway capable to have gotten this far, assuming they have faced the same obstacles he had.

Gershom twirled his cane around, considering what to do next. He wondered for a moment if the punch bowl would cause the marai soldier to manifest, but he decided he best not. No need to startle the onlookers...yet. The large, metal butler certainly invoked caution in the goblin, but it also reminded him of his last fight with the automaton Seven. Well if there's a One, and a Seven, there had to of been several mechanizations in between, and who knows where those were. But the 2nd floor whispered of secrets. He would have to make his way up there at some point in the night...

The first is the key to the wolves den.

Was he referring to the dream, or the machines...

Gershom thought of the images he dreamed about after his fight with Seven. There was no way Tate's corpse was still in the desert, it would have been retrieved or eaten by now. But perhaps he was here...

There was only way to be sure: Gershom would have to find (and take) both.

Gershom summoned a small flame in the palm of his hand, and walked over to the punch bowl, where la Chéri was filling her glass. Sorry, not sorry, Gershom thought to himself, and lit her dress ablaze ever so carefully as to not do any real damage to the girl, and knocked over one of the candles so that those who saw the spectacle would surely think it was the wax pillar that had ignited it.

"Oh dear! My lady, your dress has caught flame!" Gershom gasped in an old, panicked voice. Soon, the girl's dress was hardly more than flames, which danced harmlessly over her skin. The large, bulking automaton rushed over at the spectacle, as did most of the others at the banquet. The goblin blended in with the crowd, and faded into the shadows, quickly making his way to the 2nd floor. He found himself in the West Wing, in a circular gallery of doors, marked with numbers. Gershom reached into his pocket and retrieved the small metallic eye, holding up to the door marked with a golden "7".

This is it, he thought to himself. He raised the eye to the keyhole, and a light shone through, unlocking the door. His hand grabbed onto the door knob, and turned it slowly...

So this is what his Host was hiding from for him, the goblin thought to himself.

The Goblin-man isn't sure what it is that he is looking at, but it is quite the spectacle. Gershom finds himself in a room with no walls, yet he stands on its floor firmly. Around him, clouds pass by and...a breeze? Yes...a light breeze within the room embraces the old man gently as he walks on what appears to be air. Gershom looks below himself, and gawks at the sight below him. Piltover and Zuan...but what is their significance? The old man/goblin is about to turn an exit the room which begins to give off an ominous feel, but before he can even turn around, a tapping on the side of the open room's door uneases him.

“Hello old man. Perhaps there is something I can help your wrinkly ass with?" Comes a hostile voice behind Gershom. The goblin turns around only to see another automaton, scrappily built, standing in the doorway. A red "6" blares on it's face and flames surround its fingers. The automaton takes it's time stepping into the floorless room with style.

“Before you go all monster and midget wombo combo on me, just know that I'm not here for a fight, Gershom. Just tell me what you're doing in my older brother's room, and how you plan on killing Wolf." The scrawny automaton's words are rusty, but cut through the breeze perfectly. It would only make sense that this machine can see through the goblin's disguise, but what did it say about Wolf?

“You heard me right midge. Wolf will be here any minute, and I can't kill that bastard on my own."

The goblin dropped his impersonation for the moment. "Such a crude little project, aren't you? Who says I'm here to kill the Wolf?"

You can't fool me with your shitty gimmicks. I know you're here for more than just the punch, you lame lil' half stack," the automaton shot back, "You didn't answer what the fuck you're doing in here either."

Perhaps this contraption was faulty, the goblin thought to himself. "Faulty my tin-ass," Six would probably say. Gershom decided to answer its question. "It seemed only fitting considering I had a key. I hope you don't mind."

"Like I give a shit," Six responded, leaning like it was supporting itself against a wall, "ya still haven't told me how you plan to take out Wolf."

"How could killing the Wolf possibly help me?" The goblin-man asked. "If I kill the Wolf, my reward may be lost with him."

"Yeah, maybe. Who cares, really," the spitfire automaton said, "just think of all the shit you could get your hands on if ya did."

Gershom thought on this for awhile. All of the Wolf's riches and powers could be his, assuming Six was telling the truth. But still, the game was still in motion...

“Listen midge. I'm not even supposed to be here in Demacia. If you haven't noticed, there isn't a door here with some sparkly ass Six on it. I'm here busting my ass for something that's only gonna help YOU in the long run, so why don't you just shut the fuck up and help me help you." The Automaton's "6" is fading and the flames on its fingers start to die. In the distance, Gershom can hear footsteps.

“I gotta bounce tyke. Three is coming...I'll be back after I've charged for a bit. Don't get your ass killed while I'm gone? Thanks." Six bids farewell as he combusts into flames and disappears.

Gershom left the room marked 7, and shut the door softly before disappearing into the shadows. When he reformed, he was standing behind a large statue, perhaps a dozen feet away from the newly dressed the lady he had sent up in flames some time earlier. If Six was telling the truth, the Wolf would be here shortly. The goblin looked forward to the meeting. However, Gershom still wasn't set on killing his host, which was unlike him. Usually, he didn't need much of a reason for killing, especially if there was a more-or-less clear benefit to do so.

Only time would tell...

Day 25:

Once the fun and games were over with, and Gershom/Loi put some distance between themselves and Demacia, the darkness began to settle in once more. They were slowed immensely by this foul corruption (or whatever it was) , and it was taking its toll. Gershom took his dagger and slit open his palm, revealing a strange black liquid instead of the sickly green acid which once flowed through his veins. The goblin attempted to summon fire to close the wound, but could not. He had to take the cloth which wrapped around his waist, and tie it securely along the cut he made to prevent further bleeding. Gershom came to a realization, one that shook him to his very core...

He was dying.

“Liar..." was all Gershom heard before a baseball bat connected with his head and sent him flying to a nearby tree. A surprise attack?! How had they not sensed it?! Rising to his feet, Gershom stood to see Tate once again, as well as the swordsman. Behind them, however, was someone completely new. Similar in appearance with Wolf, but obviously female, the Lycan carried two hook swords and held a spicy fire in her eyes that communicated her readiness for a fight.

“Remind me why is it you decided to follow us, Loba?" Kamiroo, the swordsman, asked, craning his neck slightly. He readied his stance and the Pure Lycan behind him just smiled and jumped up into a tree.

“When your little friend told me what had happened to you fine gentlemen at the banquet, I took it upon myself to call for some...aid, should we say. I also wanted to help you two get back at this beast and his pet...midget?" Loba explained as a distant howl emanates on queue. In an instant, Wolf grabbed Tate once again and leaps up into the trees as a 6 pack of large, soulless Dire Wolves crashed through the forest where they once were and stop before Gershom & Loi.

“¡Hola mi amigos! Before you fight us you have to behave and prove that you're worthy of my time. Do not disappoint me, either. ¡Buena Suerte!" Loba cheered as the wolves lunge for their victims. Kamiroo and Tate turned their attention towards Loba, who was now watching the action intently.

“In turn for my aid, my dear Wolfboy, you must promise to show me this beautiful world of yours..." She requested proudly before she began sharpening her blades.

Loi turned to see his master attempting to rise, black ichor now leaking from his head wound. Gershom depended on his dagger like a crutch, staggering as he tried making his way back to Loi, his new audience watching with malice in their intentions. Loi turned and grabbed hold of the goblin, gently raising him onto its back. It was clear that the beasts wasn't fairing much better, its rough skin now quite close to that of a fading ember, and with its golden eye now clouded silver. They would not survive this, Gershom thought to himself. And like most things, he was right.

"My most gracious Host, I believe you of all beings can see this is a bad time," Gershom struggled to say, "we are not as we have been." It was a futal effort, he knew the Wolf was far away now, and none of those present much cared of the predicament at hand. The pack dire wolves moved their assault forward and attacked.

Loi raised its clubbed hand and swung at the vicious beasts as they leaped to strike. Five of them tasted nothing but metal and stone, but one had managed to sink their teeth into Loi's upper arm before disappearing into smoke. Clearly this was not intended, as the pack took a moment to assess the shock before snarling and baring fangs at the duo once more. Loi returned the gesture, more so out of instinct than out of will, and hunched over to support itself in its club and knuckles. The wolves charged again, and Loi made the same attempt to swing its club at the pack, but this time one of the wolves scaled its arm and made an attempt to strike at Gershom. The goblin raised his dagger and impaled the beast in the chest, letting it howl of defeat die out before letting the beast fall back down.

Gershom threw his cursed dagger at another wolf, and the blade burrowed deep into its back, killing the creature. Loi managed to crush another two more, leaving a lone wolf maddened with futility. But as futal as the dire wolf's fighting was, it did not match that of Gershom and Loi. The wolves alone were proving a struggle, how were they suppose to take on the Lycan? Killing the dire wolves provided no substance to which the goblin and beast could use, only empty shells, and Gershom and Loi were getting weaker by the moment. The she-wolf laughed at them, and had every reason to. But Gershom would rather be torn apart piece by piece than to die like this. With pure rage, the goblin managed to summon forth pitch black flames which seemed to serve no purpose other than to cause destruction. Even as the inferno consumed nearby vegetation and the remaining dire wolf, they cannibalized their host. But it was of no matter, death was the only product possible of this battle, with Gershom and Loi's deaths guaranteed, but that didn't mean they couldn't take their opponent down with them.

"Your name is Loba, if I recall," Gershom's voice seemed to echo, distorted by the flames. "You seek to experience the world, but I'm afraid you shall only find darkness." Loba saw horrors within the pitch black flames, and this reflected in her expression, but she still sought to pursue her hope. The she-wolf let out a melodious howl, and prepared herself for combat. Both the Lycan and the Tormentors charged at each other and engaged in all out combat.

The first few strikes Loba made struck nothing but metal, striking harmlessly at Loi's club. The black flames began to strike at her, but to any spectator it would seem that the inferno did nothing at all. In reality, the flames were consuming her life force, slowly but surely. The malicious blaze was so anxious to end her, but Loba's hopes and dreams gave her the power she needed to deter it to some extent. The she-wolf finally made contact with flesh when she dug her hook-swords into Loi's collarbones, and majestically leaped up onto its backside, just behind Gershom. The flames ate away viciously at both Loba and the goblin, but the she-wolf had every intention of ending this. She took both of her hook-swords and swung at Gershom, slicing open Loi's back instead as the goblin leaped upward to the beast's shoulders with what little strength he had left. As the Lycan prepared to go in for the kill, Gershom dug his claws into Loi's back, throwing both himself and Loba off.

This desperate move also killed Loi.

Gershom was shot into the ground near the spot where he had killed one of the dire wolves earlier. The pitch black flames dispersed, having no suitable substance to feed on as the goblin slowly died. His left arm and both of his legs were consumed entirely by the malicious inferno, and what was left of his body was drenched in blackened blood which escaped from his wounds. Loba was more or less unscathed, although her armor had been burned away entirely, and her silver fur whitened slightly. She staggered, and looked intently at the battered goblin with her icy blue eyes which now seemed grey among the destruction. Although her blades had been reduced to ash, she still intended to secure the kill.

Gershom desperately reached for his dagger with his remaining hand, bleeding out slow and painfully. His hand gained hold of the cursed blade, and he slowly raised it towards the she-wolf, but not to strike her. Instead, he turned the dagger around, and shoved it into his chest, and two words parted his lips on his dying breath.

"You lose."

Loba was confused at first as to what the goblin meant, but she soon realized his intention was to steal the kill from her. He had humiliated her in his dying act. But there was nothing more to be done. The Lycan got onto all fours, and began walking away to return to the Wolf, but it was in this moment that something strange occurred. The cursed blade sheathed in Gershom's chest sparked with a violet flame, and ignited the black ichor which was now all over the surrounding area. The chaotic flames spread rapidly, and the she-wolf ran with all the strength she had left just to avoid the blaze. The flames carried the goblin corpse up into the air, restoring his missing limbs, and causing it to undergo a transformation. Its once dark coat of scales shone red like rubies, and the edges were wrapped in gold. His sleeves disappeared, revealing pale grey-blue arms, and the rest of his skin took on this color as well. His shorts became a dark indigo, and a gold belt locked itself around his waist. When the goblin finally opened his eyes, they were crimson globes which reflected the violet light. His expression was nothing less than shock, he clearly did not consider the possibility of being resurrected. Beneath him, the flames began to manifest a hulking figure with a single eye. The beast's crimson shark-line skin was now adorned in purple markings, and its golden eye shone as bright as the sun. The violet flames swirled around the newly arisen duo until they seemed to stem solely from Gershom and Loi themselves.

A grin formed on Gershom's brand new face, and newly found power coursed through his veins. They were stronger than ever before. Perhaps even strong enough to take on the Wolf, in due time. But for now, they still had an audience to take care of.

"If I recall," Gershom said as he starred Loba down, "we were in the middle of something, Lycan. Care to finish?

The she-wolf knew better. She sensed the chaos which empowered her foe, and she was in no state to battle. Instead, she answered by fleeing the area, disappearing into the shadows.

"No matter, you are of little importance, pawn." the imp said with an air of disappointment. He then turned to Loi, who looked at him contently, but with a notable sparkle in its eye.

"Come, my friend. We have a great deal of business to attend to, and very little time to do so."

(To be continued!)

#Two Truths, One Lie...

  1. Gershom picks his teeth with the bones of his/Loi's victims.
  2. Gershom and Loi are just as fire resistant on the inside as they are on the outside.
  3. Gershom has eaten Loi for the fun of it.

Be sure to let me know what you think, leave your love and/or comments, questions, or concerns bellow! Damage values for the kit should be added tomorrow, Gershom/Loi's lore from a witness perspective will be added sometime this weekend, along with dialogue. Thanks for tuning in, and if you enjoyed this concept feel free to take a look at some of my other work, and stay tuned for future concepts :D

Fun Facts:

  • (Gershom/Loi was developed as a result of a Fun with Resources/Mechanics post, and was originally named Gol/Cetus.)
  • Loi also takes a lot of inspiration from giants, titans, and Cyclopes of Greek Mythology.
  • Gershom is inspired by characters like Loki from Norse lore, Rumpelstiltskin from German stories, and Iago from Shakespeare's "Othello". He takes a far more physical approach to his plans than most of his inspirations. (More to be added :D )
  • Gershom's name means "Dark Stranger", whereas Loi's name means "useful".

Good luck on this months ccc! Hopefully I can make a decent champion idea soon......

Keagn4/22/2015, 11:37:31 PM1 votes

Once upon a time, there was a nerdy kid who got frustrated with a concept of his that wasn't working out. Instead of focusing all his time and energy on what he did wrong, he cleared his mind and crafted thoughts along the lines of, "Wouldn't it be cool if...?"

Thus Fun with Mechanics and Resources (FwMR) was born. As a result, amazing concepts, such as Widget and Bolt, and Gershom and Loi, were born.

The typical process goes something like this:

  1. Wouldn't it be cool if...? (...if a champion had a permanent pet, had two health bars, could disguise their self like another champion, etc)
  2. I really want to make this kind of champion (ie mechanic and dog, medic yordle, goblin trickster, etc)
  3. Kit drafting. Play style starts coming into focus. Numbers are added later.
  4. Lore drafting. Basic concept of what the champion is and what they've done.
  5. Kit and lore are finalized. Concept art goes into drafting (I do all of my own art, so its not always the best, but I like to think it does a fair job).
  6. Numbers (cost, damage, range, cooldowns) are added.
  7. Dialogue is drafted.
  8. Everything else is fleshed out and finalized. 9+) Additional steps if needed. (For example, with Gershom and Loi, I did about half a dozen versions of Loi before deciding on one.)

Now, this may seem like just your typical bump. That's not the intention. I just thought my process might be fun to share. I have yet to add my art for Gershom and Loi because I haven't been able to take a picture of my sketchbook and email it to myself yet. I really need to find the time. But that's not the real reason I have this long drawn out bump.

The real reason is because I want to expand, and do better. To improve art, and dialogue (maybe even get some sound cloud bits and start doing voiceovers), and get solid models and textures going. But these things require a team. It's beyond me.

I would love for Gershom and Loi to be the first project I start doing this with. I guess we'll see. Hopefully I get some more eyes on my baby, see what is good, and what can be improved. Thank you those who take the time to read through the concept, and through this. I hope to impress you (perhaps even more) in the future.

{quoted}

Yeah, I figured that out when I devised the most likely place of your location.

Seven was dripping wet when he arrived.

You sent Gershom dreams of fish. But the Marai spirit stated that the waters he visited were the wrong waters.

When entering Seven's room, Gershom saw himself above Piltover and Zaun, two of Wolf's favorite city-states.

There is a bay between Piltover and Zaun.

Most likely location: Somewhere in the waters of the bay between Piltover and Zaun.

So proud of you ^_^

Wolf snaps as he takes his seat once more back in his headquarters. All of his automatons are present in the large, clean room. The walls are lined with monitors constantly viewing wolf's participants.

“Perhaps it would be safe to assume this is where things become fun! Now then my dear goblin, it's time for your evaluation. Kill him." Wolf is cheerful and visibly brightened by his participants wit. As he gives the order, every automaton present files out of the room and starts for their target.

They saw a Quiktrip and stopped for oil smoothies :D

Kamiroo Wolf4/25/2015, 1:36:41 PM1 votes

Estimated time of arrival: 1 minutes 23 seconds.

The screen on One's back buzzes as he and the other metal constructs scale the Ironspike mountains with inhuman agility. Seven and Six were indeed the fastest of the Automata, and since they were both decimated by this game the remaining robotic figures have to move on foot to catch their target's that are also constantly on the move.

At the head of the pack is One, the Creation Automaton, armed with nothing but his wit and the small screen on his back. On his face is a shining white "1". He is nervous about the encounter, but eager to get this over with. Behind him to the right is Two, the Plague Prototype, armed with hands that constantly produce toxic and disease-ridden fumes. On his face is a sickly green “2". He really doesn't care about the fight, he is just happy to be allowed around people! Beside him is Four(Three had to leave), the Life Prototype, armed with indestructible metal axes formed from an unknown alloy and a sack of unknown material. On his face, a lively green “4". He too is eager to please his master, but not before he pleases Mother Nature by cleansing the world of these Voodoo Land heathens. Just behind the rest of the group, slightly lagging, is Five, the Sin Prototype, armed with nothing but simple nubs for hands. On his face, a chaotic purple “5". He wishes to see the strong fall to his will, but knows better than to test Wolf. Some say 5 was the original prototype for Six, the Armageddon Prototype, but mentioning that to Five just pisses him off. In front of Five, is Eight, the Force Prototype, armed with small beads that circle his palms as well as a halo of sorts above his head. On his face, a black number “8". Unlike any other Automaton, Eight is opposed to the fight and senses a great danger in encountering these participants.

One sets his screen to a “Teleportation" setting and readies to bring some allies to the battle with him. “Must make up for lost allies..." He whispers to himself.

“Strike as a unit, remember, we are to deter them, NOT kill them. Wolf must have time to prepare." One orders and the remaining Automata roar in response as they clear the summit of the mountain and make their way down towards Gershom & Loi.

“Let's hope our targets are actually here." Five hums, mocking the unreliability of One's tracking device. They have had to turn around constantly for the past few days.

“In turn for my aid, my dear Wolfboy, you must promise to show me this beautiful world of yours..." She requests proudly before she begins sharpening her blades.

Your new challenger is Loba Valentine, The Pure Lycan

Here's the dealio:

I have 4 images of Gershom/Loi that I've sent to two of my emails. I've emailed myself twice each for both of these emails, and these images have not yet appeared anywhere in either email. Until they do, I won't be able to upload my art for Gershom/Loi.

My apologies :/

Edit: After a staggering 10 minutes, the email finally popped up. I'll have em' uploaded shortly.

BUMPDATE: DRAWINGS FINALLY UPLOADED.

YAY :D

Kamiroo Wolf4/25/2015, 10:43:07 PM1 votes

“It would seem they forgot about us, Kamiroo." Tate sighs and the swordsman beside him just huffs.

“Perhaps it is for the best. He was still able to handle Loba even in his weakened state, there would be no point in engaging him now. Besides, I sense movement up on the mountain and it's headed this way. We should leave and find Loba. Now." Kamiroo whispers almost silently to his friend beside him. He looks down at the empty scene of the battle. The goblin seemed to have dropped something behind after his resurrection. The Lone Wolf leaped from his perch on the tree silently and scoops up a sickly green gem before he tucks it away in his pocket.

“Loba wasn't quite able to defeat them, it would seem." Wolf, the host, grins as the trench knife that was once in is his hand melts right into his palm.

"No matter...they still aren't good enough to give me what I seek."

“B-But sir, we have the targets in our sights. We could easily decimate if you would just give us a cha-" One is cut off by Wolf, who has a rather irritated attitude mixed into his words. The Automata are perched at the edge of the forest atop, examining Gershom & Loi and awaiting orders. They were about to engage when their head, One, received a call from their master.

“I will not tell you again, One. This is an order. Not a request. Fall back to headquarters now or face consequences." Wolf's tone is stern and serious. He means business, and One certainly knows not to play around with Kamiroo when he is in this state. He signals for a retreat and the remaining Automata nod slowly.

“It is my understanding that you only need a few of us to come in for modifications, sir, so...why not leave a few here to execute the mission." One adds to leave the ones that are disposable behind under his breath, and the Wolf considers this for a moment.

“Very well. Leave Two, Five, and Eight behind. You and Four return to base immediately." Wolf doesn't want to leave Eight behind, but feels it is necessary for the new plan formulating in his head to come to fruition. In his hand, Wolf now holds an orange gem...One that has a still spirit sealed within it.

One passes the order onto his fellow allies and bids them farewell as well as good luck.

Please stand by a bit longer

With One gone, Five is ready to engage on the duo. Unfortunately, he can't come up with a second thought before a chaotic fireball sparkling with dark energy sends him flying from his perch on the tree! The two targets had sensed their presence! Eight and Two jump from the tree as quickly as possible and charge their foes from opposite sides. Gershom attempts to launch himself from Loi towards Two, but the Automaton quickly catches Gershom by the face and begins to rot away the dumb goblin's flesh. Loi makes a move to aid Gershom but is intercepted immediately by Eight.

“Woah there big guy, I am your opponent..." Eight is still uneasy about the fight, but will give it his all nonetheless. Loi attempts the swat Eight aside, but the Automaton just catches his club mid swing and delivers a devastating roundhouse kick to the creature's gut. Loi is sent flying quite the distance before slamming into the hard ground.

Meanwhile, Gershom drives his dagger into the arm of the metal man to no avail. To pity the little man, however, Two lets go of Gershom and the mini threat drops to the ground. Immensely insulted, Gershom warps back to Loi and the pair rise to their feet.

“Rot..." Two whispers silently to himself. On queue, Gershom falls over from his position atop Loi. Infected? How? Gershom feels a slight crawl in his chest and quickly drives his dagger into the area. Lucky for him the stab is not fatal, and the Goblin manages to pull a thin, but thick bug from the wound. It was eating him out from the inside. The wound begins to heal itself, slowly, but before Gershom can rise, Eight is upon Loi once more and slams his fist into the beast's head. Loi goes spiralling back and Gershom can barely believe what he is witnessing. How is it that this tin can is so much as able to lift Loi off his feet?!

“How rude of you, attempting removing me from the fight." Beams a voice as a metallic scythe comes spinning towards Gershom. The goblin quickly jumps into the air and dodges the blade, but is met instead with a necrotic sludge that sends him flying back the same distance Loi was sent. Five steps up. One of his nubs has become a blade itself while the other slowly shifts into a battleaxe. The three Automata stand now, shoulder to shoulder and stare down the inferior pair.

“I merely misjudged their strength. Come Loi...let's show them what we are made of." Gershom grunts and takes his position on a now kneeling Loi. The beast harumphs and gets to its feet.

Eight, The Force Prototype

Basic Attack) Eight is highly skilled in martial arts and therefore punches and kicks his enemies.

Abilities) Passive: Eight's attacks are so powerful that they crush and reduce armor with every strike.

Primary: Eight's hands are constantly circled by small beads that are immensely unique. On his right hand, beads that enhance the force of gravity. On his left, beads that alleviate this very force. He can silently apply bead after bead, dealing no damage to the enemy, but altering their stats depending on which bead is most prominent on the enemy.

Secondary: Eight delivers a devastating roundhouse kick to the enemy, which deals massive damage and has an effect depending on which type of head is most prominent on the enemy. If the enemy has mostly beads that alleviate gravity's affects, then they will go flying and still take full damage, but if the enemy has mostly beads that enhance gravity's effects, then they will take double base damage but not be knocked back AS far.

Tertiary: From a range, Eight enhances the strength of the beads, dealing a small amount of damage but having a lasting effect. If the enemy has mostly Light beads, they will be lifted into the air and still be targetable for quite some time. If the enemy has mostly Heavy beads, they will be held to the ground in place for a long time.

Quaternary Ultimate: Eight delivers an unstoppable rush of force to his enemy, dealing immense damage as well as an effect that depends on which beads are most prominent. If the enemy has mostly Light beads, they will be stunned and blinded. If they had mostly Heavy beads, they will be knocked back and silenced.

Two, The Plague Prototype

Basic Attack) Two simply punches and slaps. Nothing more.

Abilities) Passive: Just being within melee radius of Two causes devastating magic damage over time rotting and weakening of immune system(reduced magic resist)

Primary: Two releases a ball of condensed phlegm, vomit, and waste towards an enemy. This waste deals magic damage and ignores a percentage of the enemies magic resist.

Secondary: Two has a small chance of infecting an enemy with a bug every time he basic attacks that deals gradually increasing damage over time.

Tertiary: Two slaps his hands on a nearby area, causing it to become sick and tainted. Enemies who step on this ground become slowed and take damage over time.

Quaternary Ultimate: Two grabs his enemy within melee range and holds them with an unbreakable grip, suppressing and dealing massive magic damage over time to them.

Five, The Sin Prototype

Basic Attack) Five strikes with whatever weapons he has melded to his nubs.

Abilities) Passive: Every time Five shifts metals, the new metal is heated, causing his next basic attack to deal additional physical damage that ignores all armor.

Primary: Five shifts one of his arms into a new weapon(sword, axe, sickle, hammer, or gun). Five mainly uses his right arm to fight, and will use that arm 75% of the time and his left arm 25% of the time. The weapon cycle is random.

Secondary: Five launches a sickle in an arch that deals strong damage and roots enemies whenever they are hit! This sickle also deals true damage to monsters/minions.

Tertiary: Five becomes dangerously hot and melts into the ground, becoming untargetable and dealing physical damage over time to anyone caught on the pool. After a short time, Five's pool of melted metal shoots up into a land of spikes that knocks up enemies and deals minor damage that ignores armor.

Quaternary Ultimate: To be determined. For now it just enhances basic attack damage by four times.

“My my you two. Where are my beloved participants off to at this time?" Gershom and Loi freeze in their tracks at the sound of the familiar voice. Without having to turn around, Gershom recognizes the presence of Wolf immediately. Gershom turns slowly to see the once jet black fur of his host now an arctic white with rare blood red rings positioned almost strategically across the Wolf's body. The wolfman's eyes are as equally menacing as his new form. Crimson pupils, of course.

Gershom attempts to make a move towards Wolf, a sudden anger overtaking him. In response, the muscles around Wolf's eyes simply tense up and the goblin is incapacitated before another motion can be taken.

“If you are wondering why I am here, my dear Gershom, it is because the automatons I need are safe and sound back at home. With that taken care of, I decided to pay you and Loi a visit." Wolf just sighs and walks around a weakened Gershom. Loi attempts to rush the host foolishy, only to be tackled by a sudden pack of gargantuan wolves. They hold the beast down with ease and snarl in his face. Loi attempts to bare his fangs back at them, only to have one wolf dig its own fang into the beast's throat. Loi roars in pain but can do nothing to escape the weight of his attackers.

Wolf kneels down beside Gershom, arctic fur only inches away from the grimacing goblin's scrunched up face. He grabs his participant by the hair and directs his head towards his trapped ally.

“Tell me: how do you plan calling yourself my equal, when you can't even protect your ally." Wolf raises his hand slightly, puts his middle finger and thumb together, and waits for Gershom to fully grasp what he is witnessing. Just as Loi comes into focus, Wolf's releases the order.

Snap

On queue, the wolves pinning down Loi begin to tear the Goliath limb from limb, feeding on the flesh of their victim without remorse.

“Don't worry about the remains. They'll leave just enough for you to bring the beast back." Wolf bids the incapacitated Gershom farewell and fades into the air as his wolves feast on Gershom's ally. Finally, the shooting pain afflicting Gershom becomes too much and the goblin blacks out.

“That wasn't me." is all Gershom can hear.

Well, as the Winner of the April MCCC, "A Fool's Errand", Gershom/Loi did rather well.

But that doesn't mean they are done >:]

In a matter of moments, I shall be giving the mighty Ravagers of the Shadows a rather significant gameplay update, focused primarily around Loi's Rage Mode and how it works. It will be quite the experience ^_^

I can give a few hints I suppose. For starters, Loi won't be throwing Gershom off of him anymore after repeated stabbings. Oh no, it shall be far worse. This will bring about a few smaller changes as well, but for the most part Gershom and Loi will retain their core identity, while taking on a rather impressive new spin. Their biggest weakness may just become their greatest strength. Only time will tell ;)

Bump: IF I get the extra time, I am strongly considering adding in the standard lore for Gershom/Loi. My only concern with this is how lengthy the Fool's Errand Storyline is. It might have to be moved...

“Ah-ah-ah! Not so fast, my dear friend." A tall, furry creature chimes as the vortex in front of Ushio closes without his command. A wolf, presumably the one Gershom was talking about in his final moments, now stands in front of Ushio. The wolf's fur is a jet black and a small sword is attached to his waist, slapping his thigh as he walks towards the Marai. Upon further inspection, the sword's hilt is made out of a beautiful opal-studded coral and the blade is, shockingly enough, forged from none other than refurbished pearls. A truly gorgeous weapon, the wolf draws it and holds it out for Ushio to take.

“A shame really that they had to die, but it doesn't necessarily mean this is the end of them. Take this blade, Ushio, as a token of my gratitude. It will aid you on your search for the Moon Stone or whatever it is your lost people are searching for." The wolf, not explaining how he knows the sharpshooter's name, rests the blade in the Marai's hands.

“What exactly do you mean by 'this isn't the end of them'" The Marai questions, almost obviously upset about having to do this beasts dirty work. The strange blade rests at Ushio's side now, shining in the now harsh sunlight.

“Even The soulless have a spirit, my dear Marai. And this one-" Wolf cuts of his sentence as he walks over the spot where the goblin's body once lay,“- I am not entirely done with yet." As he finished his sentence, an otherworldly essences is absorbed into the wolf's fingertips.

“You should get going now, sea dweller. Wouldn't want you to have to help us move our home now, do we?" Wolf chuckles as the vortex reappears near Ushio. With pearl-blade at his side and Uzu's Pike in both hands, the Maria is almost pulled through it.

Later that evening, Gershom's eyes burn with an insatiable heat as the sun forces it's harsh rays down right on the grove in which he and Loi now lie. The goblin jerks upward and realizes he is in a jungle. Not home, not the Voodoo Lands, but a jungle clearing adorned with beautiful flowers and plant life. Sound asleep, the beast beside Gershom stirs, suggesting it is alive.

“No way in hell that was a dream..." The goblin sits now crisscrossed and staring at the scenery around him. Something on his right hand stings and the Goblin lifts it only to have his eyes widen at the sight. Embedded into the palm of his hand is a white gem with the insignia of a Pack Of Wolves inside of it.

“The ruler of the underworld was quite stubborn when it came to giving you two up, but in the end I was able to...negotiate your freedom." Wolf sits, not too far away behind Gershom on a rock, wiping away a few drops of sickly blood from his fur. Another section of his fur was charred and a few scratches were visible on the Wolf's figure but Gershom didn't think much of it.

“Now then, let me apologize for what the Wolf with the white fur did to you. I can't exactly...control him as well as I used to be able to. With that, I bid you two farewell." Wolf stand up from the rock he was once on and vanishes into the air. Fashionable an exit as always.

Passive is seriously OP need to nerf. Maybe instead of healing it does the opposite, because it is already blocking a champion ability. Or you can increase the time it takes by a lot.
