The next control mage coming to a midlane near you.

When is it coming? This is actually a genuine open question. We've had a string of champions come in, Assassins, Fighters, Junglers, with all their blinks dashes and overloaded kits, But when are we getting the next strong, balanced champion for players that like to control the field of battle . I'm talking about the next orianna, anivia, viktor of midlane that brings something fresh and unique to the picture - without being overload!!!! - ( WE DO NOT WANT ANOTHER AZIR that we enjoy then gets nerfed to the ground cause LCS)

Perhaps taking a notebook from what that works and what seems fair and what does not. The Azir soldiers doing long range DPS seem pretty fair, the insane mobility on a mage and team knock ups do not.

Perhaps a control mage that summons forgotten warriors to fight... but with a passive similar to Viktor's. There are three possible soldier uprades but only 2 upgrades are allowed per game. What do those upgrades do? Well they would have to be varied and fair enough that there is good reason to pick not pick the same 2 every game.

I would imagine something similar to Azir without the mobility and heim, but less tilting to play against and actual thought involved with the types of upgrades you get defining the types of warriors you have, Warriors that have additional defense, offense or soft cc. Warriors that can be summoned like Azir and interact with the player ( in a healthy way) move on top of him to defend target a player to attack, but can also be destroyed like heim's turrets would make a pretty cool fun champion depending on the interactions.

But ultimately any new control mage that's fun and fair to play. Not about burst someone in 0.5 seconds, and gives players the ability to really zone and control the flow and place of a game is much appreciated. The mobility creep is too much.

Any new mid lane mage champions is more likely to end up as Bot lane supports anyway. I recommend Riot to just focus on finishing the reworks rather than investing time to make new champions.
