Riot you screwed my favorite Malz skin

I love the artwork and color scheme of the "Shadow Prince Malzahar" skin (the yellow and white one), and have always wished that his particles and effects could be color-swapped for yellow or white instead of purple. I'm fine with the fact that it's a blocky, color-swapped version of his base skin. But post 6.9 update, I was quite bummed to find out that his new (OP) passive is not only purple, but in fact makes his whole body appear purple. I shouldn't have to walk into enemy attacks just to get the skin to look like I want it to.

Riot, please consider one of the following solutions:

  1. You make his effects yellow/gold/white, including his passive - heck, you could make it an "Arclight" skin, since it has the same color scheme.
  2. You remove the color swap for his model while the passive is up. Yellow Malz should not look purple for an extended period of time.

While I've always found weird his purple particles on that skin, I suppose his magic power's color doesn't revolve around what shirt he decides to wear.

I don't play Malzahar, but I did immediately wonder how people with skins would feel about his spell shield once I saw how visually obtrusive it was and how much uptime the passive has.

I don't think it's asking too much to look into removing the color swap on his model for skins where it doesn't match (really I don't even like the detail muting effect on the base model, but maybe that's just me). The shield effect on its own seems obvious enough to me that it shouldn't make a difference in gameplay.

Yeah, they could have at least made it more transparent, I agree. People did bring this up on the pbe boards and they said they wouldn't change it due to the skin tier.

Changing the color seems fair, when you play with a skin you should atleast notice it outside of laningphase =P
