Change "Turrets Destroyed" to "Damage Done to Objectives"

gr8artist·10/5/2016, 7:09:22 AM·308 votes·6,218 views

Title pretty much sums it up. Turret Kills (on the post-game recap) shouldn't go to any single individual; they're usually a group effort. "Inhibitors Destroyed" is similarly useless. "Damage Done to Objectives" would be better, representing damage done to Towers, Inhibitors, Dragons, Baron, and the enemy Nexus. It could be split into "Damage Done to Epic Monsters" and "Damage Done to Structures", which would also work well.

Y we need damage done to objectives Shielding done

and alot more

we might get it in a new client

morris110/5/2016, 8:24:32 AM15 votes

Yeah, it's utterly useless and misleading. Say, an ADC attacks the tower 30 times then the support gets a last hit and apparently they get the tower.

chipndip110/5/2016, 4:39:51 PM6 votes

Or...

We keep "turrets destroyed" and just add "damage done to turrets/inhibs"?

bviperz10/5/2016, 8:40:12 PM5 votes

While we at it, let's add "Times used an emote"

You DO realize that if this change was made it favors ADCs over every other role? And that it would favor most AP champs over most bruisers and tanks...

Simply because of the damage out put...

So it would be an equally misleading stat. If you deal 95% of the Elder drakes Hp in damage to it as the ADC because the rest of your team is zoning off the enemy... does that stat really mean anything? It wouldn't have ever been accomplished without the team setting the picket for him.

Either way you try to slice it this stat will always be misleading.

Yes. Please.

It's not enough to know that I destroyed 5 towers as Ziggs.

People need to know I destroyed 5 towers by one-shotting each of them.

To close the loop a bit, Damage to Objectives and Damage to Turrets has been in the desktop client for a little while now, but I just added to the web match history where it was still missing. Good call.

Another stat I would like to see would be "Damage mitigated" This would include buffing ally's resistances, shielding, basically anything that keeps allies from taking damage that isn't like, Wind Wall, body blocking, or healing, though if you really wanted to you could also include self mitigation like Wind Wall, your total defenses, or Braum's Unbreakable. I think it's more representative of how much tanks and shield heavy champions actually contribute, because I've had games as Taric (pre rework) against very AD heavy teams where I take almost full aggro in late game fights and take borderline laughable damage because I just had so many resistances, and in the post game 3 teammates took more damage than me because I simply reduced so much damage instead of actually taking it.

This would also benefit supports like Sona and Janna who aren't healing focused and instead rely on mitigating damage with shields more so than healing actual wounds (though Janna and Sona can both heal decent amounts. Would probably be better for say, Thresh or Blitzcrank who don't have actual heals). And since it wouldn't just be something like "Shields applied to allies" it would only count the damage that the shield would absorb, meaning that timing shields to block heavy instances of damage contributes a lot while just shielding allies at random wouldn't really do anything, this way it would accurately show how much damage you kept yourself and allies from taking since a shield that blocks nothing at all isn't really helping anybody (The exception being Black Shield stopping CC from abilities that deal physical damage, but CC is not damage, I have no idea how to properly credit that one).

Yes, agreed, +1, bump, etc.

DrCyanide10/5/2016, 6:16:37 PM1 votes

At the very least, a stat like "Tower Takedowns", where credit goes to everyone who was attacking that tower recently, seems in order.

Last blood is worth more than first blood.

DarkSunSovereign10/5/2016, 3:35:05 PM1 votes

Junglers would get way more "dmg done to epic monsters" cuz of smite. But otherwise good idea.

Ichiibaru10/5/2016, 2:37:02 PM1 votes

Seems kinda obvious, when you think about it. Upvoted.

I would actually love this,

of course the bronze idiots would fight about who did more, but the key is to inform players when they have close to zero damage done, even a support can hit a tower a few times, and it's often bot that falls first anyway so there's no excuses

sucks when the nasus waits till the end to last hit the turret while we all hit it, and then says "i got 5 turrets, why dont u guys do something!"

exaggeration, but yea, im all for it.

StarGuardianSion10/5/2016, 10:08:56 PM1 votes

Better option: Objective assists

Requiemsfire10/5/2016, 11:06:40 PM1 votes

Can't tell you how many times I've pushed towers, cleared minion waves evaporated the towers health and then a wonderful ally comes and last hits it getting rewarded the turret kill. :(

xelaker10/6/2016, 12:38:55 AM1 votes

I only believe that the credit the system gives is how it actually went down... really people? stop clogging boards with this crying

WarlockLaw10/6/2016, 12:45:14 AM1 votes

I'd prefer monster and minion damage be tracked together, with epic monsters being a separate category, and structure damage a third. That way I can point out how my Ziggs/Talon/Yi/etc was more objective focused than our adc with actual numbers instead of turrets killed.

Mokkun10/6/2016, 2:31:18 AM1 votes

As a support who routinely gets last hits on towers, I approve this message. I hit it to make sure it dies, and dies quicker. Not because I think I'm doing all the work.

Teh Song10/6/2016, 3:06:38 AM1 votes

Honestly, both as a base concept and especially with the LoL community;

All our stats and the like just shouldn't be available for others to see at all.

Nobody else should be able to check your match history, only you should be able to check how much damage you did after the match, etc. etc. etc.

Our stats and information should be private.

As for the towers, being that it's an objective of the match, it really isn't necessary to specify who toppled it, just say it went down.

Yeah agreed. Even in worlds I'm noticing people trying to last hit towers just for the stats :/

420 grams10/5/2016, 4:43:17 PM1 votes

Definitely think monsters shouldn't be in the same category as structures. It's a lot easy to deal 5k damage to a dragon than it is to do 3.5k damage to a tower
