Need an option to mute a player's pings

I was just in a game with probably the single most toxic individual I have ever encountered in League. I do not say that lightly. I have encountered the rage-quitters, mother-boners, incessant and insufferable imbeciles who rage if you give up first blood... all of it. And this Vayne took the cake. Our team (blindpick, no premades as far as I'm aware) had a little bit of confusion during roll-call, and when we entered the game we tried to sort it out. Vayne ended up going top, solo, and was having a hard time with it. She complained every time she died, but wasn't heeding any advice to try and fix it. We offered to switch some players around so she could go bot, but that wasn't satisfactory either (in retrospect, this was likely so that she could still have a reason to bitch). She complained about the team comp over and over for at least 20 minutes, prompted a surrender vote while we were winning, and constantly gave the bot-laners hell. We tried, politely, to sort it out or at least move on (since laning was over, what did it matter anyway at the 20 minute mark?) but she chose instead to keep complaining. So I muted her.

And then came the pings. 6 at a time, telling me to fall back. As often as she could. She was muted, and still harassing me. By far the most insufferable player I've ever come across, and there was nothing I could do to shut her up. Insult was added to injury, when Riot's glorious servers didn't connect me to the post-game lobby, so I was unable to report or Block the terrible Vayne, or to honor the reasonable team-mates who'd tried to accommodate the bitchy player as best we were strategically able.

Why, Riot? Why can't we mute pings? I understand if players might want to mute someone who had a foul mouth but was still giving useful ping commands, but we need an option to prevent ping harassment. Please.

You can mute pings.

I think Riot's current stance on pings is that you still need to be able to communicate game information, even to a muted individual, and there's always an idiot that takes advantage of that to spam ping.

What riot needs to do instead is automatically create a ping sound cooldown on muted champions. Something like, if you have a player muted, that player CAN still ping for your attention, but only the first ping will actually make a sound, and then a cooldown period of, say, six seconds occurs before their pings make noise for you again.

That way, people you mute because the two of you genuinely don't get along (I actually never mute these people, because for some reason, I make a GREAT team with people that I have a mutual dislike for, and I hate that that is a documented occurrence), you still get to communicate as far as the game needs, while people out to be gigantic pains in the ass to everyone can't annoy you.

If I mute a player, it's because they're not using communication to help the team, but instead harass or degrade, so why would I want their communication through pings, which they'll probably abuse as well? Makes zero sense. Muting should mute their pings as well. I can't see any possible reason not to for the reason I just stated.

They abuse form of communication (chat) to the point they are muted, then why give them another avenue to abuse communication (pings)?

In my experience, the people I have muted are not using pings to help the team anyways, but for purposes like the link below: http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/player-behavior-moderation/cV5BERBu-worst-and-most-distracting-times-to-use-pings

There are honestly players who abuse pings, and that fall back noise and popping up several times right in your face is an undetected form of trolling. I haven't encountered a huge amount, maybe 9-10 players who abused pings so badly that I nearly AFK'ed. I reported each with a detailed account of how they were using pings to hurt the team/troll, instead of using pings to communicate.

In the past muting a player would also mute pings, it would be nice to have this back the /mute all works great at stopping toxic arguments for me, but when a game isn't exactly toxic and players (Do not use pings) the way I would use them but rather are annoying distract my game-play I would rather have an option to turn them off the only solution I have found is..

.Turning off my sound . Typing /mute all
