Background: "Serene. Peaceful. Deep breaths. In and out. Hear the wind. Feel the earth beneath. Like a heartbet the life of the land pulses. We live with it, or against it. Harmany must be reached within ourselves in order for us to gain full awareness," one of the Grand Masters lectured to us as he does each morning.

With the final words he dismissed us and called me over to his side as the others left to their next lessons.

"Young Keeper, I must speak with you on matters most....pressing," His features became pinched and worried.

"Master, what is it?" I asked, worried and my hand clenched around my weapon.

He smiled and replied, "Please, calm yourself for now. In the coming days I sense dangers will be coming. When the time is right you must decide what path you will take and protect that which we live for. You may be the only one capable."

"Master, you all are so much more skilled and experienced than I, and I hardly think that...."

"Calm now. I know. I know, but heed my words and take to your training. You will be taking your tests soon and will be consumed with training in the coming months. Take your weapon and prepare yourself," He smiled and nodded his head before leaving. I bowed as he left.

The next couple years consisted of me training with my magic and fighting. My weapon powering my blasts and slicing away at the training dummies. Days and nights were dedicated to my training. I grew quicker, faster, stronger, and better. For a time, I was at peace with myself. Then, everything changed.

Noxians. An entire battallion if not more. They came out of nowhere and are at the bottom of the valley. My weapon in hand I run to head into battle, stopped short by a hand and pulled aside. Throwing the owner of the hand over my shoulder and the blade end of my staff against their throat. I saw quickly that it was the Head of Arms. I apologized, but he simply smiled and stated that the student definitely outdid the master.

"Come, we don't have time now," He said as I helped him to his feet.

We quickly went into the main hall of the temple. Fighting off in the distance. The masters were all there, surrounding that which we guarded. A small silver box with three gems and an opening on it. This was what all our masters knowledge came from as it housed the previous generation of masters. The current keeper of the object nodded as we entered and headed out of the temple, closing the door behind him.

"Young one. Come closer," The head master of the master ordered, and motioned to everyone else.

"I told you this day would come," The master I had spoken with almost 2 years ago now.

"Masters? What's going...." I began but was stopped by the held up hands of the masters.

"Young one, step forward."

I did as I was told and instantly felt a shock. A circle of magic surrounded me and the object. Chanting began and I panicked. "Masters! What's going on!" I shouted, confused and in panic. They didn't speak, but simply chanted. Faster now, faster and faster. My head was splitting and I felt nauseas. Before I knew it I was no longer on the physical plane. Me and the object were floating between life and death physically. I looked around as we were still in the main hall. The masters out of breath and panting.

The doors to the main hall burst open as the Keeper was thrown through the door and in came the Noxian forces. Their leader as well as several others injured from the keeper, and many more lay dead outside, but they had overran the keeper and made it inside. The leader demanded the object, but was refused. With their last power they tried fighting, and even killing the leader and several soldiers before they too became overwhelmed. I cried out in pain and lashed out against the confines from where I was. Agony and pain. Anger and hatred. They seared into my brain. Sadness and loss. Torment and lostness. I was empty. I knelt and watched as the last tears fell from my cheek and the army had left without its prize. As my masters lay there the prison I was in broke.

Without any strength left I knelt and stared blankly at the floor. Then, something caught my eye. The object. Floating in front of me my anger grew. It was because of this that this had happened. With all my anger I lashed at it and attacked it, but nimbly it dodged. Then, a voice.

"Young one! CALM!" It echoed and my eyes widened and then grew closed. The voice of my master! The object....it couldn't be. It came from the object. Then, all around me the masters spirits came through their bodies and into the object. The object floated around and finally bound itself to my side. Creating a belt and tying itself to it and then to me. I stared in shock. I had heard the rumors, but it was true.

"Young one. We know you are confused, and we know you must have many questions, but for now....let us leave this place. It is critical to continue your training and to teach you the ways of our order and for you to choose your own path now." then from within the box I heard many voices. Wise, angry, sad, happy, and so many other kinds of voices. Each with their own knowledge and things to teach.

"I will have my vengeance," I stated, "The Noxians will pay for this. I have chosen what I will do. I will become their nightmare."

The masters said not a word, and instead led me onwards to train. As I got to a rise of our mountain home I looked down at the smoldering ruins and the retreating Noxians, "I am Vol'Rin, the Library Keeper. My masters. My friends. My family." As I said this the temple lit up with the souls of my fallen comrades and friends. Being absorbed into the object. The Noxians left and with the object....no, with the "Soul Library" I left my home, and would come back.

It wasn't long, and they heard of my return. My name uttered upon the wind. The temple they called "The Order of the Keepers" had one survivor. Vol'Rin, and he was back.

Picture used is not my own. I found via google images. Rights for the picture go to the owner. The champion concept and thoughts on the kit and lore are mine. Also, for ability icons. The credit goes to those who made them. Also, sometimes I have trouble finding perfect icons so I try to get them as close as possible. The rest is up to imagination.

Appearance: http://cs419227.vk.me/v419227653/45d6/kiQvknkovF0.jpg This is almost exactly what he looks like. I couldn't of found a better picture on google. The only real difference is that the upper part of his face (Forehead, cheekbones, and such) are slightly more slender than shown in the picture. The only thing you don't see is his hair which is a long chinese style like braid that is hidden beneath his robes. The color of his hair is silver with a black streak on the right side.

Age: 20. Height: 5' 7" Weight: 135lbs mostly muscle, lithe and agile like an elf. Average body type.

Weapon: Exactly what you see in the picture above. A staff/glaive. On one end it acts like a magic casting tool, on the other it has a glaive like blade which he uses to cut and slice enemies. If you have played Dragon Age 2 or Inquisition then he attacks much like the main character does as a Mage when in melee range. Swinging his weapon much like a quarter staff and in motions using the blade and blunt end together for a much more fluid flow to his attacks.

Passive: http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/resource_images/16/icons_15737_btn.jpg Keeper Training- Years spent training to be the next keeper of the Soul Library led to him having many skills. Each basic attack grants him more focus. This focus increases his attack speed up to a max while attacking. It decreases while out of combat. Upon reaching max attack speed he begins to gain lifesteal and mana gain on hit.

Each basic attack made on an enemy places the keepers signature "Sigil" upon them. These sigils stack up to a max of 5. Upone hitting the cap the next ability that hits target is dealt flat true damage plus percentage max health over the next 6s. Without Vol'Rin constantly attacking the sigil(s) will disappear after 3s.

Attack Speed increase: 2% up to a max of 20%. Lifesteal and mana gain per hit: 5/10/15/20% Sigil True Damage: 25/50/75/100 (+2/3/4/5% max health)

Note: Since his ultimate is not unlocked at lvl6 the above 2nd, 3rd, and 4th percentages are based upon the ultimates 1-2, 3, 4-5 ranks.

Q http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/resource_images/12/icons_11885_btn.jpg Striking Blast: Channeling energy into his fists he strikes his palm before him creating a small shockwave. Damaging and knocking back enemies. Stunning them for a short time.

Damage: 50/80/110/140/170 (+30% AD) Physical Damage ann (50% AP) Magic damage. Cost: 70/75/80/85/90 Cooldown: 15/13/11/9/7s Range: 300 cone before him. Knockback and stun: 300 unit knockback. 0.5s stun.

W http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/resource_images/16/icons_15726_btn.jpg Sundering Slash: Striking with his blade upwards he sends a flaming line that arcs upwards at the forefront of the line dealing magic to enemies in its path and slowing them for 3s.

Damage: 30/50/70/90/110 (+100% AP) Slow: 5/10/15/20/25% Cost: 70/75/80/85/90 Cooldown: 20/17/15/13/11s Range: 600 unit range. The same width as Viktors Death beam.

Note: Imagine for this icon that the fire is the only thing there and that it's running along the ground....XD I didn't want to leave it without an icon and this was the closes I could find.

E http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/resource_images/16/icons_15803_btn.jpg Flying Crane to Dragons Fury: Leaping into the air he slams down at target location creating a fiery shockwave around him. Damaging upon impact and causing a brief knock up. The fiery shockwave has a different damage than the impact based upon AP percentage.

Damage: 70/90/110/140/170 (+50% AD) Physical Damage and 30% AP Magic damage for the Shockwave. Knock Up: 0.5s Cost: 70/75/80/85/90 Cooldown: 17/15/13/11/9s Range: 625 radius around him. Impact radius is 75. Shockwave impact is 300 unit radius. The shockwave radius is including the impact radius as that is where the shockwave starts.

Note: Imagine for the icon that the "Fist/arm" is actually my guy slamming down with his weapon and the streaks of energy are more circle and shockwavish. This is the closest I could find to an icon that might work. I didn't want to leave it just blank.

R Soul Library: Your Path The Soul Library is a toggle ultimate available from level one. One toggle grants him "Serenity and Peace" while the other granted him "Hatred and Discord". This goes along with his mixed feelings. One for the vengeance of his people towards the Noxians egged on by the angry souls within the library and then the other towards his people who wish him peace and harmony egged on by the more peacful and balances souls within the library.

http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/resource_images/13/icons_12614_btn.jpg Toggle: Serenity and Peace: Whitish Aura. Taking on the teachings of calming oneself and focusing on the chi/ki within you to harness its power and flow. This grants increased armor and magic resist, movement speed, and mana regen.

Armor and Magic Resist: 5/10/15/20/25 Movement Speed: 2/4/6/8/10% Mana Regen: 10/20/30/40/50%

http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/resource_images/13/icons_12616_btn.jpg Toggle: Hatred and Discord: Redish Aura. Taking upon the anger of the vengeance burning in his heart and the cries of his peers inside the library he forgoes all. Focusing upon dealing the most damage at whatever the cost. This grants increased damage and attack speed, but at the cost of reduced armor and magic resist.

Bonus Damage: 10/20/30/40/50 Attack Speed: 5/7/10/13/15% Reduced Armor and Magic Resist: 5/10/15/20/25

Cooldown: 3s

Note: The damage bonus from Hatred and Discord does not count towards AD when using abilities. It is just extra damage that he deals upon basic attacks. I would have added it as true or magic damage, but not sure what people would think. Especially since it is a passive toggle. So, I just wanted to say that this does not count towards his AD. However, if people think it better to count towards his AD then let me know! I would definitely change it if people don't think it would be too OP.

Note 2: This ability was also played around with by me to be a choice. Serenity and Peace or Hatred and Discord. Tell me what you think below in the comments please what you think, or in your feedback if you think this would be better. It would keep the lvl 1 availability and then once reaching lvl6 you would choose which path to take for added benefits for that path while losing the others benefits for the other path. This would stick, or they could not choose and just level it up normally to keep the balance. Let me know!

Playing as Vol'Rin: Vol'Rin is a mix AD/AP champion that focuses upon single targets and keep on his target to be most efficient. When choosing a target Vol'Rin will want to stay on his target as much as possible to apply his passive and then combo the enemy with his abilities. Choosing which toggle of his ultimate to use in what situation is best. Quickly needing to whittle down an opponent then Hatred and Discord. Needing to reserve and remain vigilant then Serenity and Peace is what you need.

Also, let me know if the toggle cooldown should increase or if 3s is good for the toggle.

The bread and butter combo of Vol'Ring is W->E->Q. Slowing the enemy with his W, closing the distance with his E (Hopefully ahead of the retreating target or behind the target facing you) then into his Q to knock them back away from their turrets or allies. Allowing you to quickly take them out.

Another combo would be a simple E->Q->W. Diving with his E will allow for the knock up and Q for the knockback. His W will slow the enemy and allow for more damage. Being in Hatred and Discord are the best to utilize both these combos so as to attack faster and harder with basic attacks once inside melee range.

Counters: Vol'Rin should never be chased, or if you do chase him make sure to be ready as he is highly mobile and can easily signal you out and whittle you down quick, or he could get far ahead with his superior mobility.

From an early level if you see him in lane focus on restraining his movements. Lux, Cho'Gath, and Morgana are the three off the top of my head. With Lux's Stuns and slows she can keep him restrained. Morgana with her stun and DoT combo can help restrict Vol'Rin. Cho'Gath's Knock Up and silence help to restrict him in melee.

His Dive is predictable as he jumps up giving you time to react and counter. If he is diving into a team make sure to get clear and stay spread out so he can't knock up the team, and the focus on restricting his movements or focusing on what aura he has to either quickly dispatch (Red) with your ADC's or turrets, or focusing on restricting movement and whittle down (White aura).

A good strategy to have against Vol'Rin is to keep your distance and bait him into diving too early and waste his dive to get him into a trap with no escape. Vol'Rin is a melee champion needing to stay on his opponent, so ranged champions are best to do this unless you are confident in your dps and resistance. Otherwise he will tear you apart with his DPS.

Strong against: JarvanIV : Since Jarvan bases himself with his melee abilities having him close range to do these abilities make Vol'Rin have an easy time to gain his DPS and shread Jarvan apart. Jarvan should never use his ultimate on a Vol'Rin. Trapping Vol'Ring inside his ultimate is a bad idea when faced off against a Hatred and Discor Vol'Rin. The increased damage and attack speed plus close quarters with his passive proc'd would make quick work of Jarvan.

Pantheon : Pantheon is tough. That's not joke, but with Vol'Rins superior DPS and melee capabilities even Pantheons armor will fall short. The E->Q->W combo is Pantheons doom. Allowing a knock up (Even if it is blocked and doesn't cause the knock up) his follow up Q->W will control Pantheon enough where he can DPS him to gain his 5 stacks and go to town on Pantheon out healing any damage Pantheon could deal.

Brand : Vol'Rin simply has the melee damage on Brand while Brand's range doesn't do him much. His abilities hurt, but due to Vol'Rin's damage and healing as well as his relentless assault coupled with Brand's squishiness makes Vol'Rin the Victor in this matchup.

Weak against: Lux : She just has those stuns and slows for days. Even if Vol'Rin were to get close Lux's stun can create distance while using her slow to help her escape. Her other two abilities help deal damage to him while stunned and at a distance. Vol'Rin does have the DPS, but Lux has the utilities if played right.

Varus : Put simply. His Q. His Q outranges all of Vol'Rin's abilities. Can't even get close and can whittle him down too easily. Even if he were to get close Varus's ultimate coupled with a few stacks and his Q then E to slow Vol'Rin's retreat would make Vol'Rin the loser in this matchup.

MasterYi : Master Yi. His Q, W, and E's all help him outmatch Vol'Rin. Vol'Rin has the DPS, but so does Yi, coupled with Yi's E true damage, crits, AND his W to resist Vol'Rin's DPS and his Q to become untargetable plus Highlander to be immune to his slow help make Yi the victor in the matchup.

Most enemies who can soak in his DPS and control him and his attacks are best suited against him. Those who keep range and outmaneuver him make the best counters.

50/50 Against: Most champions are 50/50 with other champions and that's the same with Vol'Rin. While there are champions who have stuns, displacements, and DPS along with sustain like Vol'Rin there abilities aren't enought to outright overpower Vol'Rin. These champions usually have to use their abilites correctly or be overpowered by Vol'Rin. A few of these champions are:

Ryze : Ryze has a stun, but with Vol'Rin in Serenity and Peace his resistance to magic from Ryze after the stun would be of no consequence once Vol'Rin gets to Ryze, but should Ryze place himself smartly he could overcome Vol'Rin with placement and pure spamming (for lack of a better word/phrase) of abilities. Stunning, position behind minions or in a turret will block the dive unless the Ryze is really weak and quick to dive and get out, then using his E and Q (With no minions in the way) coupled with R could lead to shredding Vol'Rin, but should the Vol'Rin have Magic Resist and able to dive quickly upon the Ryze then the Ryze would be CC'd into submission. Thus, this is a 50/50 champion.

Aatrox : Aatrox. They both have a dive, they both have sustain, and they both have a slow. This one is all on who gets the draw first. Whoever can get the hit first and their combos going will come out the winner. Aatrox from his dive into his ultimate and slow would shred Vol'Rin before his passive could proc and even with his abilities to help control Aatrox he would still be hard pressed due the advantage of Aatrox's sustain already. However, should Vol'Rin place his own Knock back as soon as Aatrox lands into his own Knock up and attacks the Vol'Rin would have the advantage due to his control of the situation. Thus, a 50/50 matchup.

Works best with: Aatrox : He definitely works good with someone who evenly matches him. Both of their knock ups and slows are definitely an amazing synergy. If they time their knock ups one after the other, and Vol'Rin knocks the enemy back as Aatrox slows them followed by Vol'Rin's own slow they can assassinate the enemy quickly.

Karma : Karma's support abilities help to shield Vol'Rin as he dives and then to hold enemies as he DPS's them to death.

Volibear : Volibear controls the battlefield much to the thanks of Vol'Rin. Volibear's throw helps to secure the enemy for Vol'Rin, as well as Volibear.

Most champions with similar knock backs or knock ups and stuns help Vol'Rin.

Friends: Irelia Karma MasterYi Varus Most other champions who are not allied with Noxus and or are kind, caring, or have a vendetta against Noxus. Enemies: Darius Sion Katarina Swain Warwick Draven Cassiopeia DrMundo Singed Urgot And a multitude of other champions who have helped, fought with, or are friends with Noxus.

Quotes: Upon Selection: "....So, is it time to fight?"

Jokes: "Vengeance or Serenity? That is the question." A disembodied voice follows "That should never be a question! Balance Vol'Rin!" Vol'Rin then "That....was a play on a quote master...." Disembodied voice "Well....oh."

Taunt: "You should go back to training. I'm sure the dummies would enjoy the exercise." "Was that an attack? Heh, cute." "You hope to keep up with me? Heh, the wind is an easier target for you."

Attacking: "Noxian scum!" Against Noxians. "Don't stand in my way!" "Faster than the wind!" "These results are the fruits of my Training." "Blink and you'll miss it."

Moving: "As the wind." "Flowing." "I am a wandering spirit." "I feel like a bouncing ball....going all over the place." Crack at multiple clicks. "Will you make up your mind?" Another crack at multiple clicks. "Strong of feet, swift as the wind."

Ultimate change: Hatred and Discord: You hear burning fire and a growl upon changing. Serenity and Peace: You hear the flowing of a river and a soft humming upon changing.

Dying: Upon death he kneels upon his staff and glares towards the one who did it. Then, the Soul Library envelopes him with a spirity like light and grows small then flies away. He grows small with it. As if the spirits protected him.

Recall: Much like dyring except he twirls his weapon and plants it in the ground standing. The souls envelop him and transport him back by growing smaller and flying away.

There you have Vol'Rin, the Library Keeper. Let me know what you think by posting your feedback or thoughts underneath! Vote +/- on what you think he deserves! Please, no hate. Only constructive talking and voting based on the quality of the champions lore, kit, and style. If you hate him based on him resembling someone else, having a similar name, or similar abilities as someone else or something else from somewhere else then that's fine, but please. That's unfair to the champion. I don't mind constructive critism but pure hate wastes everyones time.

Anyways! Thank for taking the time to look over my champion and rate with your best opinion! Thank you! I'd love to hear why you like and or not like him as well as feedback and other things! Let's keep it civil ^_^ Thank you again!

Feel free to ask any questions and converse on me on my champion! I'm very easy going for the most part and will converse with you ^_^

Can anyone explain to me what's wrong with this champ? O.o I really wish people would when down voting so I knew where I went wrong.

Also when people up voted so I know where I went right. Does this champion also resemble someone else I didn't know or something? Anyways, much appreciated ^_^ Just a quick bump. After which I'm probably done with champion concepts for a while.

This might be old, but I wanted to bump it one last time. ^_^
