Yet Another Opinion on Chroma Pricing (not flame)
I posted this on another forum, but I thought it would be worth posting a new one so that we can sidestep all the "corporate greed" flame people are throwing around.
tl;dr I think if you: 1) Make the base model chromas available through mastery, and 2) Make the skin-specific chromas available for 1350 IP each/ 590 RP for three we'd get the best of both worlds. That way the chromas are fairly priced and we aren't forced to buy three to use one. And we get mastery stuffs.
I like the idea of chromas being tied to champion mastery, but I also feel like we should be able to get the chromas for IP as well. There's just no way I'm going to pay any amount of RP for a skin re-color when I already payed 750-1820 RP for a skin.
If the value of a chroma under the original scale would be 390 RP, then that would equate to what, roughly 800 IP each?
I would propose that chromas for specific skins be available to players for something like 1000-1350 IP each or 590 RP for all three. That way people that don't want to do the work can just use RP to pick them up at a discounted rate and everyone else can put in the time for the chroma they want for their skin.
As for chromas made for the** base models** of the champions, I would tie those to the champion mastery system. That way we earn meaningful rewards through mastery and Riot doesn't have to worry about whether players have purchased the appropriate skin or not. I would make it so that players receive a random chroma when they hit certain mastery levels (2,4,5?). Then people can't whine that their favorite color is the hardest to earn and they can't just hit level 2 and quit unless they're lucky enough to get the one they want first (not that I'm honestly anticipating anyone doing that).
Thoughts?
