[Champion Concept] Seishin, the Wandering Exorcist
Health: 500-1900 Health Regen: 5-18 Resource: Spirit Armor: 25-87 Magic Resist: 32.1-53.4 Attack Damage: 60-110 Attack Speed: 0.65-1.01 Melee: 125 Movement Speed: 350 Primary Role: Mage/Fighter Secondary Role: Tank
Resource: Spirit has a max of 100 and is a light blueish green bar that fills. Much like Fury. Every second he gains 0.5 spirit passively. Each basic attack landed grants him 2 spirit. Abilities landed grant him 3 spirit. Casting his ultimate costs Spirit per second and all spirit gain is disabled. The reason I am using this new resource is simple. He is an exorcist that specializes with Chi/Chakra/Ki and it is said to be "Spirit energy" in a way. This is what he uses to control his body and fight against demons, ghosts, spirits, the dead, etc. The color of "Spirit" bard is a light blueish green whereas his "Spirit" energy he uses to release his powers and the aura for him is a dark blue (as seen in the picture below around the skeleton).
Background: Ionia. A peaceful land full of enlightenment and wonder, but not everything is so bright. The scene before him told him this. The village burned and the corpses defiled. The flames still burning and the corpses still fresh....some of them. He walked through the village and felt the presence there. The dead were not at rest.
He began to chant, hand before his lips as he began. His spirit bolstered and he became surrounded as the dead came to life. The spirits, skeletons, and bodies. Clamoring towards him. At the final uttered word his spirit unleashed a might blast. He began to chant again, but this time as he moved among them. His fists striking hard and precise. With moans and wails they were sent to their final rest. By the time it was done his breath was heaving. It took a toll on him. His hat lowered over his face as he set out to another village. This war left much in its wake, and the restless dead was one of them.
There was a time where he was called for blessing, but now with his temple destroyed and the villages put to the torch and blade....he had no choice but to carry his duty out by wandering from place to place. As the light faded from the sky and he stepped out of the village a faint blue light followed him, and but for a second you could see a skeletal apparition, but then it was gone.
*"I put to rest what is too stubborn to sleep," - Seishin, the Wandering Exorcist.
The image used is not mine and was found via google images. Props go to the original artist. Thank you!
Appearance: http://fantasy-faction.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/2013-FEB-Wandering-Hero-EAST-by-lclszzx.jpg This is a really perfect representation of him from my mind. The only difference being that he has hair which is tied back into a style much like Lee Sin, the only difference being it is pure silver and it is a full head of hair unlike Lee Sin who has only the ponytail. There is a secret about Seishin, and this is explained more down at the bottom. Just more of his lore and origins. I was going to keep it as speculation, buuuuut decided to expand on him should people be interested in reading it.
Weapon: He fights hand to hand with quick palm and knuckle strikes. His basic combo while basic attack is: First strike is a knuckle strike with the right hand followed by a palm strike with the same hand and then into a spin kick with his right leg into a sweeping kick with the same leg followed by a palm uppercut with the right hand. Then it loops.
Passive: Call of Spirits- Seishin is a master exorcist that excels with the use of "Spirit". For every 20 spirit he has he gains 5% Attack Speed. As well as being an expert in the use of "Spirit" he also has an attunement to them. Every 3 enemies killed near him grants him "Spirit Call" which grants a blueish glowing spirit like skeleton that orbits him. This spirit lingers where the third enemy died and has to be picked up. Much like Thresh's souls. At 5 stacks these spirits combine into a larger spirit (See picture) which grant him a shield worth 100/150/200/250 + Current MR and Spirit. This shield blocks all damage until it is depleted via damage done to it. While he has the shield his movement speed is increased by 10%.
Enemies within 250 units of him (Centered on him) take 50/100/150/200 magic damage when the shield is created.
Q Spirit Strike: Upon the next basic attack within the next 6s the target takes an additional 50/70/90/110/130 (+50% AP) magic damage. From the target emanating from their back is a shock wave the same shape as Talon's Rake ability, but shorter, that damages all enemies in its radius. The damage taken is the the same amount of magic damage and slows all enemies in its radius including the target by 20/25/30/35/40% for the next 3s.
Cooldown: 18/16/14/12/10s Range of Shock Wave: 400 (Talons Rake is 600)
W Warding: Bringing up a talisman in his right hand to his mouth he channels for 0.5s before throwing the talisman in desired direction. Upon arriving it becomes stealthed. 3 of these can be placed at any given time. Each has a radius of 250 units and gives sight for 250 units more (For a total of 500 units. This is including the 250 radius of the Talisman). Enemies passing through the radius detonate the talisman and receive 60/80/100/120/140 (+70% AP) worth of damage, stunned for 0.1s and are revealed on the minimap and to nearby allies for 3s.
Cooldown/Other Information: When the first one is cast the ability goes on a 1.5s cooldown before another one can be placed. After all 3 are placed it goes on a 15s cooldown. If a third one is placed once that cooldown runs out it replaces the very first one cast and goes on a 15s cooldown again. Range: 500 unit cast range skillshot. Aimable to the location it is to go. Extra Information: The talismans are targetable and are destroyed after 3 basic attacks or abilities hit it. They have to be seen in order to be hit. Meaning an AoE ability will not hit the talisman even if it is right on top of it. This ability does not grant true sight so it cannot see characters who need true sight to be seen, but can see stealthed enemies that don't need true sight to be seen.
Enemies in stealth that need true sight to be seen still activate the ability if they go through its radius, which is shown to the enemy IF the Talisman is revealed. If a talisman is revealed it stays revealed. Talismans last 3 minutes or until destroyed. Enemies in stealth that need true sight to be seen are revealed if they activate the talisman.
Notes: This ability is by far one of the ones with a lot going on in it, but is fairly simple. If you have questions please feel free to ask them! Don't hate this concept if you are confused by this ability! It is just an ability that grants sight, but not true sight, and damages enemies within its radius. The extra stuff is just how it works, and NOT what the ability does. The ability itself just grants sight and damages enemies within the radius.
P.s. The Talisman is small, and not 250 units large itself. That is just the radius around in which it can be set off. The radius for it to be set off is the 250 units near the talisman and NOT the entire 500 unit radius. I wanted to clear that up so people aren't imagining a giant talisman and radius of activation. XD
E Gentle Fist: Dashes a short 400 units in any direct. Upon the next basic attack within 3s of activation on enemy stuns them for 0.1s and deals normal on hit damage. Right after the stun is landed he unleashes 10 very fast attacks that deal 5/8/11/14/17 (+5% AP) each hit every 0.25s and applies a 5% slow each hit. Max damage of 50/80/110/140/170 (+50% AP) within 2.5s and a max of 50% slow. The hit that stuns the enemy can crit and apply on hit effects. The attacks after cannot crit, but apply other on hit effects such as lifesteal at a 30% effectiveness.
Cooldown: 17/15/13/11/9s
R Spirit Convergence: Passive: Summoned enemies (Tibbers, Ghouls, Dead Champions (Mordekaisers ult), etc.) take 10/30/50% more damage from basic attacks and abilities by Seishin even when Spirit Convergence is on cooldown.
Activate: Channeling for 1s while stationary he calls his powers to imbue him. His MR is increased by 30/50/70 (+30% AP). His attack speed is increased by 15/20/25%. 5/10/15% of his AP his converted into bonus magic damage on basic attacks. His movement speed is increased by 10/15/20%.
Spirit Convergence drains 10 Spirit every second. Passive Spirit can still be gained. Goes on cooldown only after Spirit Convergence runs out or is disabled.
Cost: 10 Spirit per second. Cooldown: 100/90/80s
Note: During Spirit Convergence a skeletal like spirit appears behind him and attached to him. This spirit stays visible for as long as Spirit Convergence is active. This Skeleton spirit is different than the one for his passive as it is bigger and bears clothes, but ethereal in appearance, to his own.
Playing as Seishin, strengths, weaknesses, early and late game: Seishin is a fast attacking, magic resistant champion with ability power who specializes in up close and personal fighting. He excels at fighting spirits, summoned enemies, and the dead once he gains his ultimate. His passive allows for some good sustain and attack momentum while hammering away at his enemies. Keep him close to the battle, but keep him safe. His wards help in that regard. The best thing to do is to cast them into the brush and out of enemy line of sight. While it becomes stealthed upon arriving it is quite visible while travelling to its destination.
His strengths lie within his speed and gaining the momentum in this fight. Building up AP and MR while balancing his Critical chance and attack speed will help keep the damage up and the DPS strong. His lanes should be Mid or Top lane. Mid is the best lane for him. While the mages do outrange him his MR helps reduce the damage and anything they throw at him he can resist fairly well. Up top he has the speed and capability to out DPS the damage the physical champions do to him.
His weaknesses however are typical of low armor DPS champions. Melee champions can eat away at his health with raw power while ranged physical champions (Varus and Caitlyn) can cause serious poke damage to him. His wards are both his strength and weakness. If cast while in site of an enemy it is easy to know about where it is and then reveal it. However, if cast out of line of site the enemy should be wary. Use your minions to watch him and place wards around that grant true sight to avoid these talisman as well as see him as he places them.
Seishin relies heavily on being in melee range. Being able to stun and get him away from melee range is an excellent counter. Heavy tanks with good CC can seriously hamper Seishins effectiveness in lane and team fights.
Overall he is DPS champion specializing in Magic Resistance and Speed to efficiently tank and dish out damage. AP versions of him make him extremely squishy because of the lack of Magic Resistance, Armor, and Health. The AP version, while hitting hard, can be outdone the same way most champions with high AP can be outdone. Tanks specializing in MR, and in his case even more so should they specialize in both MR and Armor as he uses basic attacks AND AP with his abilities. His squishiness as a full AP champion make him easy to hurt, but hard hitting. His tankier self makes him harder to hurt, less hard hitting but more fast hitting.
Upon Selection "The Spirits are not at rest....time to work."
Attacking "May your spirit rest in the next life." "I pray for your soul." "May you stay dead." "Spirits condemn you." "Be free of your mortal coil." "I release you from your fate." Upon a crit or kill. "Free your spirit." Upon a crit or kill.
Moving "As long as the spirits are at an unrest, I shall not rest." "I go where I am called." "The spirits call me." "My jobs is never over." "I cannot stand idly by when I am needed."
Quotes/Jokes/etc "Those souls you hold....You shall regret their imprisonment." In a very cold an angry voice towards Thresh. "I shall end you vile creature." Towards Thresh and Karthus, but more towards Thresh. "The dead are not for your amusement." Towards Yorick, Thresh, Mordekaiser, and those who use the dead. "The spirits here.....they do not rest." Twisted Treeline interaction. "You think death gives you power? You know nothing "Deathsinger"." To Karthus in a condescending tone as he wraps himself in spirit energy and releases it. "Your energy....it's strong and beautiful. Expected, as it reflects yourself." To Karma. Smooth af Seishin. Smooth af. XD "Death and the spirits of those who die....are NOT playthings." To those who use the dead or spirits as their power. He becomes enraged with spirit energy teeming through him in a strong aura before dissipating, his skeletal spirit becoming large and visible behind him, attached to him. "You shall regret your trespass." To all the undead and spirit champions who are evil/corrupt. "I am not sure what to make of your spirit. You hold others, but at their own will. We are alike, and yet different you and I." To Kalista. "Your appearance I see clearly. Not what others see. Strong, beautiful, and commanding." To Kalista, "I see you as you were. How you are despite your current form." "The dead do not rest, nor will I." "Come, feel my wrath and the spirits within me." A taunt. "You're gonna fight me? Good luck." A taunt. "I am an exorcist of the highest order....I will not easily be defeated." A taunt.
Death Upon dying his Skeletal Spirit appears, connected to him, then quickly enters his body in a rage empowering him and giving his body and eyes a glowing aura. In slight anger he disappears into spirit energy.
Recall He places a talisman to his lips and starts to chant, energy enveloping him.
Extra Info/Lore/Background Seishin was an exorcist from a monastery long forgotten and decrepit. His brothers and sisters repeatedly tortured and their spirits enslaved to a powerful demon/spirit that they couldn't control and contain. It broke free of its confinement and laid waste to the monastery and its inhabitants. Their spirits and bodies mere playthings to this being. His anger and hatred for it grew with each passing second. Him and the rest of his brothers and sisters were kept alive by the power of this being. Allowed never to age or grow sick. They were relentlessly tortured.
At his peak Seishin unleashed his anger and hatred. Unable to contain it he entered a calm state. This state was enlightenment. Arrived at through a different method than most would believe. His spirit, now detached and yet a part of him still, becoming empowered beyond that of the being who had him, his brothers, and his sisters so easily contained. Broken free, his state calm, he saw his brothers and sisters being toyed with and freed them with his new found powers. The being, surprised, smiled. He attacked Seishin, but the spirits of his brothers and sisters that were freed protected him along with his own spirit. Overflowing with spirit energy he dispersed the being from existence with speed and precision. His spirit had taken a form beyond that of a mortal spirit and ascended into a godlike state. As with his spirit so did his body enter this state. A state that all exorcists dreamed of obtaining. Only a select few every obtain, and they are worshiped as saints of the Exorcists. The most powerful of their order. There has only been two others before him. He is the third.
Through this enlightened godlike ascension his spirit and himself became two separate entities, and yet were still the same being. Connected and powerful. Through this godlike ascension he has become ageless and unable to die. He spent years rebuilding his monastery. His brothers and sisters spirits rest peacefully there and it became a shelter and refuge for spirits seeking it, and a safe haven from the evil and corrupted who wished to taint it and subject its inhabitants. Warded by extremely powerful magic.
His spirit was now a separate entity with its own conscious and power, and yet still connected to him. He saw this as an opportunity to help the rest of the world, and to lay to rest the dead and spirits who were not at peace. To help them find their way to the safe haven or the other life. He would free those wrongfully imprisoned, but those willing (much like his brothers and sisters at the monastery) who chose to serve someone he would let be as long as they were at peace. Together they now set out into the world and have been wandering for centuries.
"The dead and spirits of those who die are not playthings." Seishin, the Wandering Exorcist.
