In a good way -much less derpy in this depiction. Would love more serious character designs (for base models - skins are fair game)

Tryndamere's muscles are way too small

Too bad they hate each other and the marriage was political... hopefully they change the lore a bit to say they grow fond of each other. Both have sad lore and deserve some happiness.

Their marriage is political, but (in the old lore at least, did I miss something?) they are actually rather fond of each other.

Everything I ever read of the lore didn't show any hate. On the contrary, they actually respect each other a great deal, even if there isn't a great romantic love between them.

I'm not even sure if their marriage is canon anymore. Originally they married because Tryndamere's tribe was rampaging through the Freljord and Ashe married him to get them to stop...and also, more importantly, to unite all the Barbarian tribes under her rule so that she'd have an army that could hope to stand up to Sejuani's. And although they said "don't worry, it's still Canon" after the Institue and Summoners were removed, Tryndamere's lore was later reworked. And his entire clan was wiped out by Aatrox. Meaning the entire reason the two married in the first place - so Ashe could gain a military to face Sejuani - was removed.

More over, Tryndamere's entire character - his motivations, drive, attitude - has been entirely changed as a result of his lore change (from "I must find a way to provide for me people" to "I AM GOING TO SLAUGHTER THE EVER LIVING CRAP OUT OF THE THING THAT MURDERED MY PEOPLE!"). Kind of like how Leona's and Diana's characters have changed in the Targon update.

Sooooo...in my view, it isn't canon anymore. Tryndamere of today isn't really even the same character as the Tryndamere depicted in the OP.

Still, it's a VERY well done pic. Even if it is one of the very few "NOTP's" I have in League.

Aatrox item 3070 Massacring beast in lore Less viable than urgot in-game

The 2nd Horseman1 votes

Or legendary threat in the lore His mains are but legends and myths within the game, not even the good kind, kind of like a lot of Japanese mythological creatures.

Garlic Butter1 votes

You have... not met an Aatrox Justicar main then. Considering Urgot is the most viable pick but so few can play, Aatrox seems appropriate to that unique niche.

Just FYI Aatrox mains have over 73% win ratio (same as Urgot) on him. They are scary strong on RU, EUNE and LAS. He requires a certain personality type to play effectively so he automatically hard gates most human players that try to learn to play him. And NA players don't generally play him because said personality type is nonexistent in North American culture (though an immigrant/fresh citizen might be over here and playing on NA for some reason or another).

He is the single best champion on ARAM and Poroking when played correctly.

He feels quite legendary like his lore in those folks hands both to play with and monstrous to be against. I haven't encountered a champion that would be inherently 'good' against him (Malz/AP/Onhit WW? TEEMO? But I can blow up blind teemo on Aatrox without AAing and I am bad on Aatrox myself, and a simple item removes such threats entirely and it's solid on any of his builds).

His skill ceiling is pretty ridiculous and heavily nuanced. Like the difference between a challenger Cass and someone that actually knows how to Play Cassiopeia correctly.

The Freljord event was way after they decided to nuke the IoW, so I don't see why it wouldn't be canon.

Corriandr1 votes

I think you're confusing the IoW with the JoJ. Freljord event was some four years ago, while the Institute was removed two years ago. The Journal of Justice was cancelled before the Freljord Event, but that was more a fluff piece anyway that they were using to tell Lore before they started going towards what we have now.

Sraeg20131 votes

I'm not confusing anything.

They stopped mentioning IoW, making Judgements and discontinued JoJ in 2012.

Yes, the retcon was officially announced ~2.5 years ago, but it actually happened 2 years before that.

Smart! I found it by browsing through the new Fan Art website.

This is a lie though. Ashe proposed to tryndamere not the other way around. This art reeks of misogynist sexism.

Photos of Ghosts7 votes

wat It may be different from the lore, but how is it sexist...

TeCoolMage1 votes

A man proposed to a woman which is inherently sexist, clearly only the female is allowed to propose for the couple to not be misogynistic.

Selrick0024 votes

Agreeded Photos of Ghosts. Also why does he have to be proposing? They could already be married and he's sweet talking her!

Sagan Forever2 votes

He is just holding her hand and she is siting on the throne. This type of scene usally has the man sitting on the throne so this image is most defnatslly not sexist. You are making a large number of highly unlikely assumptions, when it is clearly just a couple holding hands( he is kneeling to her showing she has the power in the relationship as well).

Zachawyy1 votes

Holy shit, does that mean Tryndamere and Ashe were a couple?

Selrick0021 votes

yes they are married in cannon

Zachawyy1 votes

Cannon?

Rintam1 votes

Yep. It's a political relationship, because she is the Queen of the Avorosan tribe and he is the King of the Barbarians.

Zachawyy1 votes

Goals.

Selrick0021 votes

Cannon refers to something that happens in the story. Non-Cannon refers to something that didn't happen in the story. This term is most used in fan made creations (I.E. fan-fiction, fan-art, and shipping). An example is Harry Potter, Harry/Ginny relationship pairing is cannon (in story) while Harry/Luna is not cannon (fan made).
