now that we've seen a jungling marksman, how about a mid-lane tank?

a champion to abuse mid-lane's vast resources, become extremely fat and scale into the heavens

i'd like a champion like that to be an anti-siege zone control god who claims an area just by being there

Sion/Maokai almost fits but he's not as specialized as I'd want

EDIT: Some misconceptions in the replies, let me clear up my vision here: I'm not talking about a mage that happens to build tanky. A full on pure tank If I had a vision for a mid-lane tank, it's be a tower champion, just this ridiculously tall champ whose greatest niche is standing it's ground and defying traditional positioning

A champion who declares to the enemy team "if you want to get this objective YOU GOTTA GO THROUGH ME", not just in sieging scenarios, but also dragon, baron, or even as a final incentive not to dive Heimerdinger

The existence of a pure tank in the midlane means teams can put AP in the top or jungle more comfortably, which is why this niche is important

Nunu with the snowballs for days, and creep munching. Malphite with his poo slinging, and because a portion of midlane will be his to own, with Unstoppable Force. You want the linebacker with the nasty tackle, Malphite's your guy. You could also cheese it with an AP midlane Sejuani. :)

There plenty of tank-ish mage mid laners, such as Cho'Gath, Galio, and others. Maybe a little bit more of a viable mid laner would be nice yes, however, you don't want a burst mage they is extremely tank in the mid role. That's a little unbalanced in my opinion.

The issue I see is that by picking the champion you are going to be forcing a high DPS top laner, which while more META now, are still not ideal, or on your assassin jungler getting fed, if you have one in the first place. Unfortunately, he would probably send up as a top laner that that wouldn't be picked too much, because ya, while eventually we will have to get through you, you won't be dealing dmg, and we will still have the numbers to kill the people you need to succeed, your ADCs, and your full DPS top laner, or if you go top, your Mid laner. In the end, I think it is cool, but others do his job already, as with Maokai.
