Detias, The Ethereal Blade


Passive:Witness Greatness! Detias has an Arcane bar under his health that fills up to 100%, granting him +1% bonus magic resist per point. Killing enemies fills the Arcane bar(50 for Champions or Epic Monsters, 25 for Assist Cannon Siege or Large Monsters, 5 for all other kills), and it drains after 10 seconds of not killing anything(10 per second). When depleted it restores 10 Arcane after 5 seconds.


**Q:Begone! | CD 12 Recharge, 1 recast | Cost 1 Charge | Range 350 ** After a 0.25 second delay delay Detias swings his sword up from the ground and knocks enemies air born for 0.5 seconds dealing 40/60/80/100/120+(35% Ability Power) magic damage.

Afterwards Detias goes into 2nd Stance for 5 seconds, holding his sword over his shoulder. 2nd Stance Cast: Detias slams his sword down and deals 50/75/100/125/150+(45% Ability Power) magic damage and slows champions hit by 30% for 1.5 seconds.

Holds up to 2 charges.

Passive: While in 2nd Stance, Detias gains up to 30% bonus movement speed and up to 30-60%(based on level) bonus attack speed, depending on how full his Arcane bar is. While in 2nd Stance his auto attacks also deal an additional 0/5/10/15/20+(15% Magic Resist) magic damage on hit and gain +50 range.

**W:Accept Your Fate! | CD 25/24/23/22/21 | Cost 10 | Range 300-800 ** Detias conjures 5 blades of focused magic that encircle and spin around him. Each blade deals 20/30/40/50/60(+15% Ability Power) magic damage, every blade that hits the same target deals 20% more damage for up to 80% increased damage on the last blade. Recast to shoot the blades outward and deal >true damage instead to all units passed through. Blades automatically shoot out when it ends. Lasts 5 Seconds and does 2 full rotations.

Total damage to 1 unit = 140/210/280/350/420+(105% Ability Power)

**E:Stand Aside! | CD 16/15/14/13/12 | Cost 5 | Range 500 ** Detias rushes forward with his shield and knocks away all enemies in his path. Deals 60/120/180/240/300(+150% Armor) physical damage and grants him a shield for (100% Magic Resist)+(10% Bonus Health) that lasts 4/4.5/5/5.5/6 seconds, healing him for 20/26/32/38/44+(10% Magic Resist) whenever damaged by magic.

If used in 2nd Stance he loses the bonus shield and deals 20/40/60/80/100 + 5/6/7/8/9% of the enemies max health as bonus physical damage on his next auto attack instead.

**R:Heaven's Rain! | CD 170/140/110 | Cost 25 | Range 20,000 ** Detias begins channeling and after 0.5 seconds unleashes a storm of raining blades that travels across the map, dealing 50/75/100(+25% Ability Power) magic damage every 0.5 seconds. Deals 50% damage to non-champions. Leaves a trail of magic blades on open ground that last for 6/7/8 seconds and each blade deals 5/15/25+(4/4.5/5% of champions missing health) true damage, grounded blades can only hit champions. (About the size of Ziggs' minefield, and moves about as fast as Viktor R move speed. Basically a potential 25-75% AP ratio, depending on what the enemy does) (Trail ends up being about the same as Ziggs' minefield for blades/area ratio)

Not overpowered? Not too weak?

He is an anti-mage tank mid laner. Good at clearing waves and pressuring AP users. His W offers either wave clear, or good damage threat when no wave is present. His E helps him get in for his W to deal damage or to land a good Q. The E shield is great for engaging AP mages or sustain in lane when against a heavy harass champion like Malzahar Xerath Cassiopeia Ryze and many others. His Arcane counts toward every ability except his Q, so if he runs out he is basically silenced for 5 seconds, or until something is killed, eliminating him from being overpowered, kinda like Rumble . The interaction with E and 2nd Stance denies him of rushing in fully powered up with a regenerating shield, but offers a damage dealing alternative. So you can go in for the kill or go in for safer poke. Q allows him some diversity, with an alternate stance to make risks a little more tempting. His Passive grants MR per kill, so clearing waves stays a good priority later into the game, helping him farm better. But also makes other lanes taxing hurt you more. His R is a small channel, which allows stuff like Viktor R or silences to stop it when noticed. His R is also slower than other map ultimates, which in turn makes it easier to dodge when far away, but if caught in it then running might only hurt you even more. Since dodging is so easy given the speed, it also leaves behind a minor zoning field only effected by champions, just enough to make low health champions watch their footing but do next to nothing to healthy champs. With the 25 cost on the R it gives him a requirement to casting it, outside of cooldown. Basically a wave of minions or an assist will work. Restoring his Arcane is a good way to keep him in check by allowing abilities to use resources while allowing him to use abilities without a kill requirement. Relying on MR leaves him with low armor and hence bad at tower diving. W recast helps you land all your damage on these dash-y champs who get away. His scalings are mostly a bit of everything outside of crit or AD, so a good variety of builds but not too many. His Armor scaling on E helps him have some functionality in a full AD enemy team comp. Getting 100 Arcane for a fight is NOT easy, even with the duration refreshing on kills. CC almost doesn't exist, slight knock away, small slow, and a 0.5 second knock up, so stopping damage isn't easy for him.

How I imagine his engage would go: E in followed by Q, Activate W, auto attack, Reactivate Q, auto attack, back out slightly and cast R aimed to try and barely hit them but mostly block off their path of escape without taking execute damage. Or initiate with R after killing minion wave. Wave management is crucial to playing him, whilst also trying to soak up abilities before spending your resource.

I definitely took some inspiration from pre-rework Galio and his ability to stomp mages, healing from magic damage and whatnot. He could be buds with Morde. Basically Mordekaiser and Xerath had a child...

Good items would probably be item 3065 item 3111 item 3001 item 3102 item 3091 item 3124 depending on your opponent.

Clearing a wave would give him between 30-35 arcane, so even a double stacked wave wouldn't give him 100. Maybe make cannon minions grant 25 as well? Or even just 10. Unless he gets a kill or steals raptors he won't be able to get full Arcane, and the kill in solo lanes won't help much as you need the resist FOR the fight.

with stats like 420+105% ap on a non ultimate abiltie I would build full AP and he'd be perma ban.

If i don't look at numbers, but more play style and all, I think there's potential

that's...a LOT of Magic Resist...

Literally anyone who plays mages (a strong amount of the community) would permaban the hell out of this guy. Especially DoT mage players. People who play Malz, Ryze, Cass, etc...with Adaptive helm, he'd literally be untouchable by these people.

Oh this is nice i think your my type of person here's a thought give him a special say in second stance when w is activated he also has an empowered slash by using one of the rotating blades.

I think it's pointless to balance numbers on a concept champion since their values would be altered either way if riot considered the concept but keep these coming great ideas man
