[Champion Concept]: Widget and Bolt, Sparks of Ingenuity
I figured it was about time that this concept of mine got its own post instead of a live drafting of an idea. I present to you:
Widget and Bolt, Sparks of Ingenuity
For this particular example, Widget is a 14 year old girl, and Bolt is a giant mechanical dog.

Stats (Keep in mind these are just general ideas for what their stats should be):
Widget:
Health: 538.36 (+76 per level) Attack Damage: 52.12 (+3.0 per level) Attack Speed: 0.625 (+2.7%) Movement Speed: 340 Health Regen: 6.52 (+0.55 per level) Armor: 22 (+3.5 per level) Magic Resist: 30 (+0 per level)
Bolt:
65% of Widget's health (350.09 at level 1) 120% of Widget's AD (62.544 at level 1) 110% of Widget's AS (0.6875 at level 1) Movement Speed: 120% of Widget's (408 at level 1) Health Regen: 90% of Widget's (5.868 at level 1) Armor: 130% of Widget's armor (28.6 at level 1) Magic resist: 100% of Widget's (30)
Passie: Bolt generates heat as he uses abilities. Once Bolt has reached maximum heat, he shuts down at that location and begins to cool down. The summoner will have command over Widget only during this cool down time. Widget can either let Bolt cool down where he shuts down (faster), or store him in her Mobile Invention Kit (Takes about 1.5x as long, but is a better alternative than him being destroyed.) In addition, when Bolt is in the danger zone, he has added effects to his abilities. When cooling down, a magic damage AoE surrounds the shut down Bolt, dealing damage to enemy units nearby. Bolt (Unactive) can also grants standard vision range where he rests. If Widget wanders off, and Bolt is still active by the time his cool down has ended, he will seek out Widget, and gain a movement speed bonus. The farther away Widget is, the greater the movement speed bonus.
Tentative: Upgrade paths may be determined by trinket color (Red, Blue Yellow)

Q: Bolt bites a nearby enemy champion, dealing physical damage. He and Widget also gain an Attack Damage boost for x seconds. Danger Zone: X% of the damage that would be dealt is true damage.
Generates 5 heat

W: Widget throws a wrench at a target location, which deals physical damage and sticks if it hits an enemy unit. Bolt will then rush to the target location, dealing physical damage to enemy units that he runs through/collides with and lands on. Danger Zone: Enemy units that Bolt comes in contact with are applied with burn (debuff, deals x magic damage per second, for y seconds)
Generates: 20 heat Cooldown: 18/16/14/12/8 seconds.

E: Widget whistles for Bolt to come to her side. If Bolt is already nearby, Widget can mount Bolt, gaining a movement speed boost, but generates more heat when casting abilities. Danger Zone: Bolt leaves a steam trail behind him for 3 seconds, dealing x magic damage to enemy units behind him.
Generates: 15 heat Cooldown: 9/8/7/6/5 seconds

R: Widget has bolt combust wherever Bolt is at that time, dealing a large amount of magic damage. Depending on the position of the cursor, this will either be an AoE, or behave like Lux's laser. (If you've ever generated a gradient on a paint application, gimp for example, it behaves like that). If Bolt kills an enemy champion in the blast, his cool down time is reduced slightly. Heat that Bolt has stored up already gives extra damage to the blast. Cost: 20% of Bolt's Max Health Generates: 100 heat
When Playing as Widget:
Q: Next Basic attack deals bonus magic damage. W: Throws a wrench (Behaves similar to Olaf's axe) (Skillshot) which sticks to an enemy, ally, or location. E: Blows whistle, confusing and silencing nearby enemies. R: Spawns Bolt.
Now, for Widget's M.I.K. (As @FlameHalbrdOkido has dubbed it)
Unique Item: Widget and Bolt may buy a Mobile Invention Kit from the shop upon entering the game. The MI Kit allows for Widget to perform on the spot Upgrades to Bolt as needed in combat. Widget carries her Mobile Invention Kit with her into combat, ready to make upgrades to Bolt whenever he's offline.

I want each ability to have three possible upgrade paths. This would make for 9-12 variations of Bolt's abilities. And the upgrades would only be for Bolt's kit. The reason for this is that Widget is suppose to adapt Bolt to the situation. I'm not sure if I want his Ultimate able to be upgraded though. Any who, here's what that would look like:
QY: Bolt's jaw has been re-calibrated, and can now bite faster, biting 3 times instead of 1. QB: Bolt's head has been equipped with thrusters, and can now launch 575 units to a target. QR: Bolt's claws are enhanced, and he now does increased damage.
WY: Wrench will bounce if it hits the ground or kills that target, and Bolt will hop from each location it land on to the next one. (Up to 3 bounces) WB: Wrench can home in onto a targeted enemy. WR: Wrench can be thrown at Bolt to heal him for x% of his health.
EY: Bolt breaks apart and reassembles himself by Widget (Instant travel instead of travel time) EB: Widget will equip an armored shell to Bolt, giving him increased armor. This armor is shared when Widget mounts him. ER: Widget modifies Bolt's rig so he's ready to trample. When returning to Widget, he will knock aside all enemy units that stand between him and her. This ability only works for minions and monsters when Widget is riding Bolt.
You may upgrade an ability once that particular ability has been maxed out, and you have Bolt in your Mobile Invention Kit. For Example, I get all 5 points and want to upgrade Bolt, so when he deactivates, I pick him up, then the option to upgrade Q will become available. This concept was inspired when I read some old Riot discussions, and I figured that the two I found solved each other's problems:
"I've wanted to make an engineer with a pet robot that follows her around for a while now. The idea would be the robot fights for her while she constructs things to help it out. Robot would keep her alive and she'd do the same for it. Possibly you could swap control between the 2 at will :X" - gypsylord
"We've talked about using Heat on another champion occasionally, it's not something we feel must remain a Rumble only thing. Would definitely want to offer a different take on it while retaining the same core rules (build heat through ability casts, at max heat lose some functionality) though, avoid just rehashing Rumble's gameplay." - Meddler

Fun Combos (Inspired by YOU):
Sick em'! = Q (Upgrade 2) - E: Bolt's head launches out to bite an enemy, and Widget calls Bolt back over to her, bringing the enemy back with him.
Sick em'/Play Dead! = Q-R: Widget throws her wrench at an enemy, causing Bolt to seek out and attack that enemy. Widget then commands Bolt to explode, dealing tons of damage. (BoyManDog33)

ALSO: I'm not an expert at legal stuff, but if Riot wishes to use this concept, I give them full rights to do so, as long as they notify me if this would be the case. I did this to both help you guys out, and show what I can do, so I hope if you come across this you enjoy it :)
Patch Notes:
Heat values were made more consistent. Wrench now does damage on its initial hit. Added a Fun Combos section. Added an extreme hottweiler effect on Bolt's R. E3 upgrade has been modified (FlameHalbrdOkido* and Shamont, so sorry for the typo!) When waking up, Bolt is a very eager puppy, and seeks out his master at sub set onic speeds. Attack and movement quotes added. Suggest some of your own, and they just might make it up here :D Added some ability related quotes. Nothing better than some good ol' fashion dog commands and whatnot. Added Lore section! Check out Weiss/Widget's audio log! Made the resource section into the passive and clarified some of the wording. Fixed some typos, ignored more than fixed. Began calling Widget's M.I.K. what it is: A unique item. Relocated dialogue and lore sections. Relocated Mobile Invention Kit closer to the bottom and added a few icons for it too. Added Twisted Treeline/Crystal Scar M.I.K. icon. Upgrade paths have been edited, clarified, and renamed to clarify which kit they come with. More ability icons have been added. Apologies for the quality, they're just to get an idea across. Added new picture to be the cover Transferred to new discussion so people actually know what it is.
