Sylas being a mage, using ability power

A little late but Im fine with Sylas being an ap mage. Though doesnt anyone feel like his kit isnt.. mage like?

I mean they burst like one but usually a mage holds a staff or enchanted weapon or use their hands. Apparently Sylas is a very strong mage. Yet Sylas has the chains he ripped from his prison and his kit doesnt really show any magical abilities nor does his ult.

His kit runs around those chains, so, it would just make more sense if he was like an ad bruiser. (unless they are magical chains). But like I said, Im fine with him being an ap mage.

They’re made of petricite. The same stuff Galio’s made of. And they absorb magic from Sylas to power his abilities.

They are definitely magical chains, or at least he channels his magic through the chains.

I for one, am glad Riot is going beyond staves and wands. Those items are used to focus magic and guide it... it shouldn’t matter too much what is used. For Sylas, the chains are reinforced with Petricite, something that absorbs, and seemingly stores, magic. He channels that magic to deal more damage and likely tone more efficient with it (especially when they’re saturated with magic)

He's meant to be an AP fighter in game. In lore don't think of mages like normal, they are basically mutants but you can learn magic, some just use items to channel their magic. Syndra, Annie and Taliyah don't, they just use it.

Wow. Some people read the lore and the science behind it... helpful.
