The above skins you're calling out were a whole team effort and I'll be sure to send them this link on Monday. Since the beginning of the year the skins team has hired a few new people for each discipline: myself and another concept artist, a character artist, an effects artist, two animators, a sound engineer, an art coordinator and I'm sure some others I'm forgetting. But that doesn't begin to account for the quantity and quality of skins being produced, we are all pushing each other to excel and innovate and I'm really amazed to see everyone on the team just getting better and better.
On top of that with each passing season we, as a team, develop a better understanding of this mysterious thing called 'skins' and how we can ensure they really resonate with players. Along with that I feel like as time has passed we have earned the trust of Riot as a whole and we are generously given a lot of freedom to try crazy things like DJ Sona and Pool Party Rek'sai.

Blood Moon Elise, the female warring kingdom skins this year and heart seeker varus are all examples of sexuallized skins to some extent also of course pool party draven.

if a female champ is sexualised, it cancels out a skin being "crazy" automatically, or should regardless of any other considerations.

If it's done in a tasteful or aesthetic way I have no problem at all and that's the way it should be imo. What would be the problem you foresee?
ULTRAF0RCE1 votesok, the point I have been trying to make is that you cannot reasonably make a blanket statement, such as if a female champion is sexualised it is impossible for it to be crazy, that is not at all true. There are certain rules that should be followed especially when a game is rated T in North America and for 13 + everywhere else, you cant simply say ok Ahri has nice breasts in this skin now lets have her eat children, it just does not work that way.

I'm a frequent blitzcrank player and that was exactly how it feels when you get a hook/get hooked. "get hooked and you lose"

edit: I also heard that the academy skins were based off harry potter houses. Is that true?
RiotKindlejack8 votesRiotEarp and I concepted the Academy skin line. Actually school houses are a normal thing in countries like England and Australia (where I'm from) so I thought that the champions would either be from rival schools or from different houses within the same school. We decided that they should all go to the one school together for cohesion but still be separated into houses that correspond with the faction the champion is from (which is why Darius and Vladimir share a colour scheme).
When we were deciding what kind of feel we wanted for the skins we did talk about if it should be a magical academy like HP, an American-style high school or a more 'anime' feeling setting. I wanted to represent many different countries in the designs so we leant towards a more general school theme but when I finished the Vladimir design and people said it reminded them of HP, I didn't have a problem with that >:)

For the first set of these skins we did want a younger LoL character and with Ezreal just getting a couple of low-scope skins Ekko was a good choice.

Why are you giving 1350 skins shared splash art? That was fine for cheap 750s, but these are the second most expensive before Legendary Skins (Ultimate only are 1 per year so not gonna count them).
Love the skins. Annoyed by the, quite honestly, laziness I see from the splash department regarding 90% of the skins released this Summer.
