[Idea] More about Thread Depth Limits (@Affordance)
Here's a pattern I've noticed: most of the time when I hit the depth limit, it's because there was a long chain of comments that didn't branch out much (example).
In this case, it's already abundantly clear who is replying to whom (since each comment is in response to the one directly above it) - therefore there's absolutely no need to increase the indent; all that's needed is to be clear that the comments are, in fact, replies, probably a-la coloring, like in the mockup I made earlier:

This would be automatically implemented for viewing whenever there's a comment chain that's long enough (3-4 replies, probably); any replies to comments in the chain that are not part of the chain, will be added, indented as usual, but not colored. Here's another visual representation, if that's not clear:
Note: champ portraits indicate summoner names, items indicate color-coding.

: Doran's Shield is a strong item.
: Personally, I'm more of a fan of Doran's Ring
: Plz.
: Doran's ring is useless!
: Maybe to you. Plz.
: Lol, you guys.
: Ehh, I'm not too fond of it.
: Doran's shield is OP!
: -.-
If this system is a good setup, I shouldn't have to explain to you who is replying to who. Let me know if it's clear!
For comparison, here's the same thread, with current indenting:

This was a short thread, but it saved 3 whole indentations (plus, who doesn't like snazzy colors?). I think this, combined with the ability to expand a thread (clicking "show more" will expand it to look like below), would, in practice, keep us from ever hitting the depth limit.
