Update on Community newsletter/PotD?

How's the newsletter thing-a-ma-hoosits Tamat started coming along? Last I heard the first batch player reporters were selected, but not anything since then. And to follow-up is this newsletter going to be possibly take on the role of PotD? I for one loved Baconhawk's highlighting of posts with that and I'm sad to see it being put on hold (although I can understand why, that's a lot of posts to sift through).

I ask because if this newsletter is going to be about community news it would make sense that it would have a PotD-esq section. If this is not the case I was considering picking up the torch myself (preferably with Baconhawk's approval, as she started it and started it well)

It does seem weird that a project about finding community content is invisible to the community, from a communications standpoint. I understand why the board itself isn't being shown (since it's being worked on and all), but I do wonder why it's essentially being kept a secret.

Agreed. I personally think PotD is really important as a concept and shouldn't just be one Rioter's pet project (you rock, Baconhawk). It's a great idea to be rewarding great threads with additional traffic and recognition, it encourages people to participate in the platform.
