Simple question, why are the boards still in Beta?
Surely, it's been long enough to no longer call this a Beta. There are probably literally millions of posts in total on these boards by now.
This is actually something that I have noticed a lot with other products as well... Why do companies leave things in permanent "Beta"? The term "Beta" feels almost meaningless at this point.
yellowbricks2 votesIt's beta so when someone brings up one of the myriad bugs this system has, riot and their fanboys can just scream "nuh uh it's beta there will be bugs". Now that devs see you can use that as a defense they'll just keep branding their shit as beta to avoid judgement on things they're too lazy or incompetent to fix.
Hemulen Magi2 votesBut what makes them think that people will still fall for that? The whole "permanent beta" thing has been so overused. When I see something like this in beta this far in, I feel like the company isn't willing to put their name behind it. This far in, it doesn't make me defer judgement at all. It just makes me conclude, as you said, that they are "lazy or incompetent".
It's overdue to remove the beta tags at this point. It looks a bit silly. It also reminds me of people who leave their Christmas decorations up year round.
