Why are boards still "Beta"?

Simple question, why are the boards still in Beta?

Surely, it's been long enough to no longer call this a Beta. There are probably literally millions of posts in total on these boards by now.

This is actually something that I have noticed a lot with other products as well... Why do companies leave things in permanent "Beta"? The term "Beta" feels almost meaningless at this point.

It's beta so when someone brings up one of the myriad bugs this system has, riot and their fanboys can just scream "nuh uh it's beta there will be bugs". Now that devs see you can use that as a defense they'll just keep branding their shit as beta to avoid judgement on things they're too lazy or incompetent to fix.
