PSA: How to Discuss the PBE

Daen·Nov 3, 2013·19 votes·1,428 views

Hi guys,

This sub-community isn't for PBE feedback, this is specifically for feedback on the Community Beta. The Community Beta is the forum layout that you're currently posting on, not the actual beta client that introduces new gameplay elements to the population for testing.

You can find all of the PBE forums here!

Posting on this sub-community won't really solve anything or assist in the development of the beta platform, use the above link for that. It's relatively unlikely for PBE staff to see posts made here about feedback or bugs, so use the real PBE forums to get your ideas heard and save the developers some work!

May actually make sense to change the name of the community to set expectations properly, too.

Most likely, I suggested that to Kylhos in communityplatform and he seemed to go with it. The subtitle for the sub-community was changed to reflect all these posts, but a title change would likely help as well.

In general I feel like the problem is more of an issue with site design than the name of the sub-community though, finding the PBE forums requires a lot more navigation than any other popular area. GD, Announcements, New Player Forum, the Dev Tracker, and the Community Beta are all in the dropdown under Forums, but the PBE requires clicking the Forums button then scrolling to the very bottom. It's relatively out of the way for people not familiar with the way the site is laid out.

Its actually a slightly larger issue now because of the new waves of PBE testers that will be coming with the new PBE attendance criteria. Better to get these kinks worked out sooner rather than later.

I don't have enough fingers to count how many times this has been said. Thank you for making such a neat PSA so that people can see and link this whenever we see people not realizing the difference.

Basically I got annoyed with the fact that literally the entire front page of Beta Feedback was filled with PBE topics (and sometimes even Live ones!) so I made this in the hopes people will see it before posting here and accomplishing absolutely nothing.

Thanks!
