[Idea] Compact View

Right now, there's a lot of wasted screen real estate on the CB. I think, either as an option or the default view, it would be nice to have a more compact view.

Black shows wasted space, green shows what I'd like to do. Edit: I've immediately realized that you need the reply and quote buttons at the bottom - what if you moved people's names to the bottom?

As to the space on the right, I think having the redtracker move with you is a great idea; I'd like to see something else, below it, maybe personalized (my updates?) moving with it.

######As an unrelated side note, signatures would be really nice <3

Hey, appreciate the feedback!

Reorganization of information and generally taking a look at the structure of the boards is something the team is currently working on. More specifically an item that I'll be focusing on solving now and in the future.

I'm not sure yet what the solution will be but I love hearing thoughts from you guys. Keep it coming.

Oooo signatures, yes please.

While I agree there's whitespace there is also the potential problem of clutter. I do like your idea of moving the comment options though. And the dynamic space to the right, as you said, is probably reserved for other dynamic boxes. If possible a live chat (messages and what-not) with your friends list would be awesome imho.

So, another big thing I notice is that there is a LOT more wasted space on a wide screen display.

There is effectively enough white space to add ANOTHER column of dynamic boxes, and still have some space left over. Now, I'm aware that the site has to be designed for non-widescreen displays too, but it would be nice to do something with that completely empty space for WSD users.

An idea for the core topic: Make the dynamic boxes scroll seperately (so that it isn't just wasted space after scrolling past the first few posts).
