Can we talk about Boards development?
Hi,
I wanted to take a moment to see if we can chat about the development of the platform, rather than management or moderation. There have been some really weird things going on with the Boards team (people leaving, etc.), as well as stagnation of updates, and I would love to explore this as a topic of conversation.
First of all, what's going on with the development team? Please refer to the following list of Rioters known to be part of Boards dev:
- Tamat - No longer a Rioter
- Bear Hat Alice - (Edit: Still a Rioter)
- Frosthaven - Apparently no longer a Rioter
- molotovcocktail - Completely MIA
- Kryhlos - Last post was 7 months ago
- Pendragon - Last post was 2 months ago
- Sweet - Last post was over a month ago
- Baconhawk - Still around!
So...what's going on? Is anyone actually working on the development of the platform any more? Here is the "recent" development timeline, as far as I can tell:
- 3 months ago - Upvote Counter added to player profiles. Did not affect platform functionality whatsoever.
- 7 months ago - Quoting/reply update.
- 8 months ago - Increased character limit.
- 8 months ago - Preview/editing update.
- 8 months ago - Color changes.
Is there any particular reason the last change to notably improve the platform was seven months ago? I don't mean to be pushy here, but it does seem a little odd that so many people have left the development team without any communication regarding new additions and nothing notable has changed since 2014.
