The Confuzzlement of Skin Concept Location

I'm surprised this hasn't come up more often, but with the somewhat recent sub-comm name changes there has been some confusion of where to put fan-made skin concepts. I'll admit I'm not too sure myself, Champions & Skins or Fan Creations?

Now, my personal rule of thumb is a concept is something you created so it goes into fan Creations where as feedback, opinions and alterations to live skins should go into C&S. But I can't really tell anyone there posting in wrong sub-comm either because it makes sense to do it the other way around.

Anybody else feel this way? If so, anyone have an idea on what the C&S sub-comm name could be changed to, to more accurately reflect whats wanted in it?

Personally I'd go for the name "Live Thematics" but that's just me.

I don't think there is any "confuzzlement". As you've stated, as long as you distinguish the purpose of your concept, all will be fine. It's just a matter of getting everyone to understand.

Try this:

You have a Skin Concept.

1a. Is your concept to create a brand new skin? Go to 2a.
1b. Is your concept to improve/comment/alter a live skin? Go to 2b.
2a. Post your concept in Fan Creations
2b. Post your concept in Champions & Skins

While, yes, that's perfectly logical I think we can both agree that's never the case with people sometimes. Simply, it's unintuitive, if I haven't been to the forums often I'd probably put a skin concept where I see the word 'skins'. A lot of people won't think along the lines of live vs. concept skins, they just think (in my experience) "Champions & Skins, perfect".

Largely I think the best way of getting everyone to understand is to fiddle with the name a bit more.

True, true. But "Live Thematics"? Where do you draw the line on that name? That's encompassing a lot more than just Champions and Skins. That's saying, "Every topic you can think of regarding 'Live' things go here."

Also, one could make the came argument for Champion Concepts because Champions & Skins includes Champions. Maybe the problem lies with Fan Creations.

True true, and yeah that name was just a 30-sec idea, now that I think about it not many people will understand the border of 'thematics' and 'gameplay'. It's very true the problem may be with Fan Creations, that's just it, I don't pretend to have a 100% answer but I think there is a problem that can be addressed somewhat easily. We just need the right names.

Although it's not nearly as bad as the "Community Beta Feedback" days, lol.
